Swish-swish-swish-swish! The sword cut through air and dangerously attacked the bandit leader.
"Hmph, Cobra Fist technique!" The bandit leader shouted and struck back. He was carrying small knives in his hands which he held while making a snake head gesture with his hands.
Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!!
The hundred swirls were perfectly countered by the rapid moves of Cobra fist.
"Leaping Cobra!" The bandit leapt speedily and struck.
Ksshak!! A knife cut Deodomus' cheek while the other stabbed towards his rib. Deodomus parried the incoming stab and quickly retreated but his opponent was faster than him.
"Cobra Speed! Love Bites!"
Stab! Stab!
Deodomus let go of his sword and summoned a spear, no longer daring to hide any moves. He had been stabbed twice on the chest while the cut on his cheek had gotten blue. Apparently, the knives were poisoned!
"Death Spear!" Deodomus hurled the spear on bandit leader
Boom! There was a loud sound and the sonic shockwaves shook the surroundings. Even the fast bandit leader could only evade getting stabbed in the chest. The spear went through his shoulder and ripped off the entire arm while pulling him along.
Bam! Bam! Srrrt…! The bandit leader bounced on the ground and rolled before halting. All the bandits stopped. Deodomus wobbled and fell unconscious. He had been poisoned heavily.
"Deo!" Xiao exclaimed and rushed to him. She quickly pulled out his spatial ring and wore it before summoning healing pills. As she fed them to him, she realized how careless she and Deodomus had been.
A minute passed; Deodomus showed no signs of recovery. The bandits had assembled in a proper battle formation. Their leader was fed healing pills and he quickly regained his senses. His arm was gone for good though. With a dark expression, he glared at Xiao and Deodomus.
"It seems your medicines aren't working," he spoke to Xiao; "that is a unique poison that I personally concocted from venom of several deadly snake beasts! Only I have the antidote," he snickered.
Xiao's gaze flashed and so did the ring, bringing a long sword in her hand.
Swoosh! She leapt like a panther and ran up to the bandits whose expressions turned horrid.
"S-stop her! Quick!" The bandit leader shouted but about 5 bandits had already been cut in halves by now. As Xiao continued to cleave her way through, the bandit leader retreated and grabbed a child. His poisoned knife rested on the child's throat who was looking at Xiao with scared eyes.
"Stop! Or I will kill this brat!" The leader shouted and Xiao immediately halted. She hesitated long enough for other bandits to copy their boss' strategy. They all spread everywhere and grabbed a child each.
"Hehehe! Drop your weapon and hand over your ring, bitch! Fucking gave me a scare," The bandit leader growled.
Xiao closed her eyes and sighed. She realized that she truly had been making wrong decisions. If she had acted quickly and killed the leader, then used the antidote and medicine to heal the child, she could have wiped out these bandits swiftly. But now there were so many hostages. If she made a move and they were all decapitated, could she bring them back to life?
Xiao's sword dropped down and her ring was tossed towards the bandit leader who didn't catch it. He only had one hand and did not dare to let go of his hostage.
"Let's kill her, boss!" One of the terrified bandits suggested.
"Hey! I did as you said. Leave the children," Xiao scowled, "and give the antidote to my man."
"Oh? And why should we?" The bandit leader sneered.
"Because..." Xiao's voice trailed off as she frowned sadly. She clenched her fists, as though pondering a difficult decision, "because if you do…I'll let you… fuck me."
