"Yes…" Xiao smiled hatefully. "I called Hailey my daughter. That makes her your daughter too. All incestual things aside, why does she looked raped and knocked up by multiple men?"
Deodomus had no answer.
"And why is the woman who saved our lives, lying in two fucked up pieces?" Xiao asked, gesturing toward Luna while staring daggers at Deodomus.

"What methods you think she wanted to employ?" Xiao asked.
"Marriage with me to claim Mistress title." Deodomus replied scowling.
"Oh Deo…" Xiao shook her head disappointedly. Her gaze said the rest. Luna didn't need to use these tactics to claim Carny. She could kill Deodomus and Xiao and become the Mistress with ease. "Ah, who could have thought that a mere botanist from a small city would reach Empyrean doctor level?" Xiao said, walking toward Muchen whose face drained of color immediately.

"Ahhh!! AHHH!!!!!" Muchen's screams kept up their intensity while Xiao trudged toward Gyoro who dropped his head low with a sigh. Then he warped away his tunic and clothes, getting fully naked and dropped to his knees, awaiting the judgement.
"At least someone is ashamed enough." Xiao minced her words before looking at Deodomus over her shoulder.

Xiao walked over to find Hailey dressed up and healed up, still asleep. Deodomus had fixed her and had simply been waiting on Xiao. "…Yes, I've saved your life again and again afterwards too." Deodomus said indignantly.
"And have I not risked mine to save yours?" Xiao asked. "We were always in the thick of battle, fighting for one another. We were so in love, Deo. Now, look what we have become."
"…" Deodomus didn't say his usual cunning bullshit with which he could always outsmart Xiao and any other woman.
"I'm a whore now." Xiao spoke angrily. "A whore, Deo. You turned me into this whore, didn't you? Don't think for a moment that I'm so dumb that I haven't seen through your ploys over the years."

"…." Deodomus sighed. He realized, there was no getting past Xiao at this point. She was going to have her spill.
"Luna saved our lives." Xiao reminded. "Is this how we treat our saviors? Cutting their limbs, decapitating them, turning them into mindless sex toys?"

"Are you even human, Deo?"
Deodomus buried his face into his palms again, resting his elbows against his thighs as he sat silently. Xiao did not speak for long and just stared at him.
"Regeneration pills exist." Xiao spoke. "Get them for Luna. Fix her. Apologize to her. Marry her. But if she wants to kill you in vengeance, then fight her until either of you drops dead. Rest assured; I will follow you to the afterlife like a warrior wife should."
Deodomus sighed, gazing at her. "Okay. Whatever you say, Xiao." Xiao nodded
"And I'm taking charge now. Tonight, we heal. Tomorrow, we move full speed towards Carny." Xiao declared. "And unless Luna wants you dead, your wedding with her shall take place in Vrime city. You will hold the title of Lord only in name. Do not forget to whom Carny belongs. You will be mere a consort to the rightful Mistress of Carny as I cannot entrust my people to you who cannot even take care of the women around him."
"As you command your highness." Deodomus said solemnly but also tersely.

Crack! Crack! Krtch! Twigs and dried leaves made crispy cracking sounds as Muchen trudged behind the group. His expression was hideous and his walk was erratic. He was yet to get accustomed to prosthetics that Gyoro had made for him.
When Muchen learned that Xiao had his limbs fed to the plant beasts and now he had to live with prosthetics, he got the wakeup slap he truly needed. Having gotten away with amputating so many women, Muchen had begun to be casual about it. So much so, he thought nothing of even beheading Luna. Deodomus' punishment had little effect on him and hadn't lasted long. It was only now that he was deprived of his own limbs did he realize the agony of his victims.
Muchen's prosthetics weren't like Luna's. His were very basic and could not help him in combat much. Xiao had ensured his suffering in this manner. On top of this, Muchen had been forced to devise a method to truly heal Luna, reattaching her head to her torso in proper manner.
Speaking of Luna, she was walking slightly away from the group. Once her sanity returned, she fell silent. She did not react at all; she did not speak at all. Even when Xiao personally approached, apologized and asked her decision, Luna ignored her. Hailey who had recovered completely and didn't feel the least bit harassed owing to her latent masochistic nature, had made numerous attempts to cheer Luna up or get her to talking but it was all futile.
Deodomus, Gyoro & Xiao had been sullen as well and the atmosphere was quite heavy. The group traversed silently for days. Often, they encountered wild beasts but slew only those which had resourceful uses. Some were fed to the plant beasts but none were slain for eating. As a matter of fact, the group did not sit down to eat and drink anymore. They were cultivators, not requiring those anyway. Food and alcohol were merely consumed for gathering and celebratory purposes. No one was in mood for that any more.
Regardless of the sullen moods, Xiao and Deodomus had hot sex every night after setting camp. They were a horny couple and despite Xiao being upset with Deodomus, she could not stay away from his penis more than a few hours.
A week passed and soon they reached a small hillock from where two cities could be seen at different horizons.

Luna's eyes flashed at once. She peered at Carny's direction. Then at the other city where Deodomus had been looking at with his fists clenched. Xiao noticed this at once too, approaching him.
"Is something the matter?" Xiao asked. Deodomus shook his head.
"No, let's get going." Deodomus said somberly. Xiao felt something was really amiss but didn't press further. Their entourage moved swiftly and within half an hour they reached the tall gates of Vrime city.
"Okay, it looked better from a distance." Luna spoke up at once. All heads turned toward her at once, surprised to hear her voice. Luna was staring at the gate which was riddled with holes, dents, scratches and looked downright dirty and rusting. The walls were no better. They looked battered and untended to.
"Well, this city has gone through several battles, being on the borders." Xiao clarified. "But I'm sure you'll like the beauty inside."
"Xiao." Deodomus spoke up. "There aren't any guards on the minarets."
"…" Xiao looked up and indeed there were no signs of any guards.
"Lunch break?" Gyoro grunted.
"All of them together?" Muchen blurted out.
Shing! Shing! Xiao and Deodomus unsheathed their swords while using their observational techniques to glean information from beyond the walls. Others took hint and summoned their weapons too. Only Luna did not, but she seemed alert and cautious.
"There are no city guards, or anyone around." Xiao spoke up. We're jumping the walls."
Swoosh-swoosh-swoosh! All of them except Muchen leapt up the walls and vanished inside the city. Muchen had a loathful expression. His prosthetics couldn't channel energy. Jumping several feet high was out of question. He sighed, summoning a crossbow and wire and attaching the wire to a bolt before firing it up the wall. Then using it as support, he climbed up strenuously.
By the time he climbed down the other side, there was no sign of the others. He had been left behind. This was another form of humiliation he had been frequently put through. He was angry but couldn't argue about it, lest he didn't fear dying at the milf's hands.
Muchen used his observational technique and followed Gyoro's trail, as he was the only one nice to him lately. Seemingly most of the group had taken off in different directions.
Hailey was still with her protective mother Xiao while the rest of the group scoured the city solo. They found the houses crumbled, buildings destroyed, roads splashed red with blood but there wasn't a single corpse in sight. Not even animals and birds could be seen.
"It's like a ghost town…" Hailey murmured as she and Xiao landed atop a shambled building. "Where are all the citizens?"
"Fled." Xiao said, glancing toward the back gate of the city. Completely obliterated along with part of the wall. "There was certainly a battle. The people must have realized that they stood no chance at victory. So, they fled." Xiao spoke as she imagined the scene of thousands of people rushing through the gateway, screaming, falling; children separated from their parents and wailing. Elderly pushed down and stepped upon by the stampeding crowd. She could almost hear their screams in her head.
"There aren't any weapons lying around. Isn't that strange? What sort of a battle could it have been?" Hailey asked.
"We don't have enough information yet." Xiao said, clutching her emotions tightly. "Let's follow the people's trails. No point in investigating the city at the moment."

In a misty graveyard, Deodomus was standing before a grave solemnly. He sighed staring at it. There was a crude headstone half embedded in it. On it the name 'Anek' was written, clearly with strokes made by a sword.
Deodomus placed a few flowers on the grave and knelt. He wanted to say something but couldn't quite word it. Would any apology bring him back or undo the mistakes of the past? Would promises mean anything to the dead? Deodomus thus found himself mute before his sworn brother's grave.
"Deo…" Xiao uttered as she appeared behind him, stirring him out of his morbid trance. Hailey had separated from Xiao at once to call the others together for further travel.
"I never got around to visit your brother's grave." Xiao spoke tenderly.
"It's strange, Xiao." Deodomus uttered. "As heartless as it might sound, it's strange that Anek's death brought you and me together. If he wasn't dying, I wouldn't have rushed to this city for help. If I didn't have to bury him, I wouldn't have gotten into a fight with the city guards, gotten arrested and then met you. The dice just kept rolling from then onwards."
"Sometimes…" Xiao uttered. "Sometimes the universe arranges a happy thing with a sad one. It's its way to compensate us for our losses and a way to motivate us to carry on. And despite all the crazy things that have happened with us, we've always ended up finding each other. I'm sure, universe would have arranged for us to meet at some other point somehow if Anek hadn't died."
"It could have been great. You'd have gotten to meet him." Deodomus said, smiling sadly. "You'd have liked him. Heck, you might have fallen in love with him instead of me. He was a splendid man, so much better than me."
"You're splendid too." Xiao said, kneeling behind him and hugging his neck. "Though indeed, I'd still have loved to meet him."
The two of them sighed and sat in silence, staring at the grave for a while.
"We once had a bet." Deodomus began. "We were little back then, merely 12-year-olds. One step away from Advanced realm. So, we made a bet about who will breakthrough first. Whoever won, would be the one to propose the village girl we both fancied."
Xiao smiled, hearing about Deodomus' story. She imagined him as a little boy, maybe wearing fisherman skirt, having broken teeth, a giggling brat with all the bad habits.

"I…we were taught a forbidden technique by our king." Wu Fu began. "He obtained it almost a year ago in an auction of rare things. He had been very interested in researching the long-lost blood cultivation path!"
"Blood cultivation?" Hailey murmured.
"Yes, Hailey, there were numerous paths in history which have not vanished. Currently only weapon path, brute strength path and energy path remain. Although the term 'path' has also been forgotten. Everything is simply called techniques. Blood path or blood techniques were infamous in history." Xiao educated Hailey. Others nodded.
"How does that technique work?" Luna asked. She herself had used a blood technique to level up to Sage realm. Although it came from a God in her dream, she knew of its nature.
"Well, it has only one use." Wu Fu said gravely. "To transform humans into blood essence."
Nobody knew what blood essence here meant but the words 'transform humans' were enough to incite dreadful thoughts.
"I along with few other elders of Kol learned it and were sent to ambush Carny's unsuspecting areas to collect as much blood essence as possible. I used the technique to transform each captive, the dead & even the animals into single blood essence drops." Wu Fu finished. "I-I was merely following orders!"
"Of course. I won't hate a soldier like you who was merely doing his duty." Xiao smiled and sat back on Wu Fu's lap, turning his penis erect again with the touch of her hips. "Go on now, tell me everything & then I'll be yours." She said caressing his cheek like a beloved.
Wu Fu felt excited and happy. He ranted on and on, disclosing one secret after another. By the time he finished, everyone was solemn.
They deduced many things missing from Wu Fu's disclosure. Definitely, what Koldorus had gotten wasn't just a technique, but an inheritance scroll. Such scrolls were as rare as inheritance grounds. Often, they existed together but sometimes scrolls would be stolen and sold after an inheritance ground was raided and its resources thoroughly exploited.
The scroll gave him two things. One- a detailed design and instructions about floating ships. Two- the technique of obtaining blood essence. The floating ships were of different shapes and sizes, but had one simple role: destruction of the enemies. They were fuelled not by energy, chi or elemental stones, but blood essence instead. Several litres of blood essence was required to run the ships and utilize its arsenal. If one human amounted to one drop of blood essence then, tens of thousands of people would be needed to be sacrificed for fuel to keep the ships afloat and engage in battle for hours. This was just one of the cases of pure evil that blood path comprised of.
Xiao's father Zhang had also used a blood path technique, although it was of the least disturbing kind, or perhaps only one aspect of it was left unravaged by the tides of time. It comprised the Carny heirloom which was blood of the male cultivator, passed down through generation which could increase their physique greatly and enable them to perform the powerful Reaper technique. Zhang had proven so dangerous that it had taken the entire army, and Xiao and Koldorus's team up with other powerful cultivators to defeat him. Afterwards although Xiao drank Zhang's blood and obtained the Carny heirloom which now flowed into her body, she couldn't use it as she was a woman. She would need to pass it down to her son Wind in the future.
Of course, Xiao remembered nothing about it all and nobody else knew a thing.
According to Wu Fu there was only 1 ship that Kol kingdom had constructed as blood essence was not easy to obtain. How many people could they slaughter, really? Koldorus was an evil king, but not to his own people. He thus chose Carny as a source of blood essence. Where else could he go? Attacking another state would result in war with them, reducing his military strength in the process.
Currently 2 more Master realm warriors were leading small armies, attacking outskirts of Carny to extract blood essence to send to Koldorus. Wu Fu's own collection in a small glass bottle had been extracted by Peng Cai upon orders from Xiao. It was merely a few ounces. It was hard to believe that thousands of men, women and children were slain for this much of fuel for a damned ship.
Wu Fu had also explained the technique to Xiao and others as to how it's used to transform living beings into essences. All the necessary information had been successfully extracted from him.
"Now, l-let's have sex!" Wu Fu said deliriously. "Take my penis in your slutty vagina! Hahaha!"
"Mmm…" Xiao smiled and grabbed his head. Then she got up and ripped the head off his neck & tossed it away. A shower of blood bathed Xiao red, making her looked extremely dangerous. Everyone except Deodomus & Luna, trembled in shock.
Then Xiao tried the Blood Essence technique and released her energy in a specific manner, engulfing Wu Fu's corpse in it.
Wu Fu's corpse contorted and warped; its bones turned to crumbs, meat was minced and squeezed slimy with blood which burst and splattered everywhere. Xiao failed in her attempt and ended up giving up and left the grotesque mass of lumpy meat and grounded bones in the puddle of blood and flesh.
"We don't need that technique." Deodomus reminded Xiao.
"Of course not. I just wanted him to suffer the same fate as his victims." Xiao said through minced teeth. Her anger was deep and growling.
"Peng Cai, appoint a junior to administer rehabilitation, law and order of the city. Have them set up a team to scavenge usable resources, granaries and medicine from the other derelict cities. The citizens here shall be safe for now as there couldn't possibly be more attacks." Xiao instructed. "Then, pack up your things and come along. We're are heading out tonight to tackle the two Kol elders who ought to be out attacking our other border cities."
"Yes, Mistress." Peng Cai bowed and rushed out.
Half of Xiao's group rested, the rest helped the city with post-battle matters. Gyoro fixed the front and back gates with help of a local mason. Muchen tended to the injured with local doctor. Xiao quickly trialled the captive soldiers and decided to execute them all. Hailey stood by her side, learning the ways of nobles during war times. Luna cultivated silently while Deodomus crept up in her room and closed the door.
Luna sighed audibly but refused to open her eyes or question Deodomus who simply sat down in front of her and took out a few things.
"Our settlement is long overdue." Deodomus uttered and Luna finally opened her hateful eyes, glaring at him.
"Any apology will only insult you further." Deodomus said solemnly. "I have repeatedly exploited and harmed you. It's what I do with every woman I get my hands on. It's the kind of person I am. If you want to settle the scores with a duel until death, I'm game."
"Is that all you have got to say?" Luna frowned, closing her eyes. "Leave." She was simply tired of men and their bullshit. She could kill Deodomus but now that she was into Xiao, she won't harm her husband.
"Limb regrowth pills have been concocted. I'm leaving them here." Deodomus said. "Take one everyday. Gyoro will adjust your prosthetics everyday to make room for the growing limbs. As for your head…I'm afraid, attaching it requires another risky procedure and you could lose your life, as per Muchen's explanation. I'll give you the details if you want to learn."
"Skip it." Luna muttered.
Deodomus sighed and got up to leave.
"I'm still pregnant with your child." Luna spoke and Deodomus halted. "All I wanted was a husband to raise it with; live a simple life for a change. I couldn't have cared if he had other women in his life. Was it so hard a thing for you? To actually marry me and accept me as your woman?" Luna apparently had learned that Deodomus never married her.
"…" Deodomus stayed silent. He had no explanation. Thinking back about it, it wasn't hard at all, to marry a beautiful woman like her and acknowledge her. He was simply too obsessed with eliminating threats to Xiao and there were no lowly depths he couldn't stoop to.
"I'll do it now if you agree. Xiao also demanded that I marry you. But we never got around it with all this unexpected war and all." Deodomus said.
"I'd rather die than marry an evil cuck bastard like you." Luna snarled and then spat towards Deodomus on the floor. "Begone!"
Deodomus turned around and left.

That night their group advanced again. Although Xiao had the intention of locating the other Kol elders, Deodomus managed to convince her that it wasn't a logical approach. There wasn't clear information on exactly which cities were under attack and they could be running around for days without success. It was best to head to capital first and take command. Then troops could be deployed to hunt down the Kol elders who were collecting blood essences.
And so, their group diverted toward the shortest path toward Carny capital. They travelled day and night, not stopping for any breaks and not tangling with any beast obstructions. They avoided all the cities on their way and kept to the path.
Within 3 days, Xiao's group reached the capital. The entire capital city stirred with the news of her arrival. The troops felt rejuvenated, the public started celebrating with music and praising songs written about Xiao's valor and magnanimity. Every neighbourhood was ringing with music and had come alive. The people would have gone to the palace, singing, dancing, bringing flowers and gifts for their beloved mistress but these were war times. They knew better to not disturb their ruler at such a time.

Xiao walked into the palace through a tall bronze principal door and crossed a hallway to reach the courtroom. This palace was newly made after the destruction of the previous one in battle with Zhang.
The new palace had some sections similar to the previous one but was mostly newly designed. Tall walls adorned with countless portraits of Carny's ancestral royalty, painting by renowned artists such Inkyug, and numerous indoor plants, vines, decorative items, chandeliers and mounted weapons with decorative sheaths could be seen everywhere. It was a beautiful palace.
Drums rolled a guard announced Xiao's arrival.
"Behold! 11th Mistress of Carny, the brave and the magnanimous; epitome of beauty, kindness; harbinger of victory and justice; Mistress Xiao arrives!"
Dun-dun-dun! Drums continued to roll as Xiao entered the courtroom. All the ministers and important officials along with military personalles were standing in two rows on either side of the wide red-carpeted aisle.
"Hail Xiao!" A rather passionate minister exclaimed, raising his fist and forgetting about the honorifics. Xiao smiled at this and continued walking toward the platform where her throne awaited her.
"Hail Xiao! Hail Xiao! Hail Xiao!" The courtroom boomed with thunderous voices of the subjects. Everyone gleaned all the details and every moment of Xiao's with thirsty eyes and beating hearts.
Xiao was currently wearing a black noble dress which clung to her voluptuous body, perfectly revealing the curves of her humongous breasts and wide child-bearing hips. Her arms were gloved and a shining white scabbarded long sword hung at her seductive waist, bouncing against the side of her hip. The front of her dress was intentionally altered to reveal her full breasts barely covered in a metallic armor-bra which was part of the bikini armor, and revealed her soft yet dense wobbling orbs of breasts while the dress closed up again at the turtle neck. The only jewellery Xiao wore were simple white earrings and a wedding ring.
She took Deodomus' hand and beamed at him at once. Deodomus smiled handsomely. Draped in his new battle armor which was mostly red & black, the same as the previous one, painted an image of a battle-ready noble. Two swords were hanging by his waist and he simply looked dashing in his light stubble and long messy black hair made him worthy of standing by Xiao's side with her hand in his.
"Hail Xiao! Hail! Xiao!" The subjects were still roaring while inwardly speculating who all these people behind Xiao and especially the man holding her hand was.
Xiao & Deodomus climbed up the stairs of the platform and as they approached the throne, Xiao gestured Deodomus to sit on it instead and then sat on his lap, crossing her long legs and resting an arm on the armrest. Deodomus' right hand slung around her waist and took the left armrest. As they seated in this manner, things became obvious, that this man was the Mistress' consort.
Hailey, Luna, Gyoro, Muchen & Peng Cai took the seats nearest to the platform and the roars quietened at Xiao's gesture. The Mistress of Carny had finally returned home.
