3 Thinking Ahead

J jumped over the incoming pole and laid the redhead down gently before jumping back over the pole running toward the smaller girl. This time the pole was much closer to his target since he had taken a while to make sure that the redhead still wasn't filled with electricity and making sure he didn't injure him when placing him on the ground.

Right when the pole touched the shoulder of the girl and began pushing her toward the edge J arrived and dragged her away from the pole quickly throwing her over his shoulder before jumping back over the pole once more.

"What's that guy doing?" One of the people watching whispered to those around them since they didn't understand why he was helping people right after The Watcher said that this was a life and death game they needed to escape.

J just ignored those people and did what felt right in his gut. After laying down the girl J went over to the redhead kid and smacked his face a few times and shook his body which quickly made him dart up from the ground and look at J with anger.

"What the heck was that for?!" The kid said not realizing that the games had already begun since the pole had long since gone into the void far away from the platform.

"I just saved your life that's why." J said not wasting his time arguing with the kid and turning toward the little girl. The redhead was about to argue with J but suddenly the whirring sound started going off again.

"What's that?!" The redhead said in confusion.

"The next obstacle." J replied fast as he tried to wake up the little girl. However, much to J's surprise the little girl wouldn't wake up! He started off easy just shaking her to try and awaken her but it didn't seem to work so he resorted to stronger tactics by smacking her face back and forth but she still didn't wake up!

'This isn't good.' J thought as he heard the whirring sound getting louder and louder signaling the beginning of a new obstacle. J had two choices on his hands and that was to either leave the girl where she was and let her die or he could try and drag her along through the game until she decides to wake up.

The choice was obvious in his mind and he began acting upon it right as the next obstacle arrived. J grabbed the girl up in his arms once more before placing her on his back. Both the girl's arms lay limp over his shoulders and he held her legs around his waist as he looked toward the new obstacle.

The new obstacle was moving much faster than the other and it was a little more complicated. Instead of just a pole at the ground level this time there was a pole with a wall in the middle of it separating the platform into two separate sides. The jump was still the same but there was a significant amount of area cut off basically teasing what could happen in the upcoming obstacles.

J made his way over to the right side of the obstacle with no problems in the slightest and then jumped over with the girl on his back. The jump was a little different than when he jumped over by himself but it wasn't to the point that it bothered him too much.

Everyone else on the platform had no issues as they separated to the side of their choosing before jumping over it. J looked behind him to see if anyone got stuck behind or pushed off and was glad to see that when the obstacle went back into the void no one fell off the edge.

Everyone waited in anticipation for the next obstacle while the little girl on J's back was sleeping soundly with no care in the world. After all the movement and jumping J did he was certain that there was no way this girl was going to wake up anytime soon but the only problem is that he didn't understand why.

While J was thinking about the girl he heard the whirring sound once more but the only difference was that it was from two different sides of the platform! The whirring seemed much faster than before as well since right as they heard it in the distance it was already rushing toward them!

The obstacles this time first came from the direction that they were just looking toward and the other was to their left. The one in front of them seemed to be the fastest and it came toward them with ferocity. This obstacle was a problem since it was a wall that covered the entire platform!

The only thing that gave them some sort of way to get through was three human-sized circular holes placed at the left, middle, and right sides of the wall. J cursed under his breath when he saw these holes because he knew instantly that he wasn't going to be able to fit him and the girl in at the same time.

J began thinking in his mind about the best way to tackle the situation and quickly came up with a plan. J then did something that made the rest of the people looked at him in shock. He rushed toward the obstacle that had just gotten to the edge of the platform and went toward the middle hole.

"What's he doing?! Shouldn't we wait and see the other obstacle or look for another way to get around?" One person said in confusion while some others nodded their heads in agreement.

However, J wasn't worried about them since he knew that if he didn't go to it now there would be a much lower chance that he and the girl would be able to make it through due to the people around them.

'I have to hurry.' J thought to himself.
