Escape.

The door opened, and Ciara walked in. She came here to get me ready for dinner. I don't know if I'll be able to eat dinner, though.

"You're here," I said quietly when she approached me.

Ciara stood in front of me and squinted her eyes, as if trying to understand something. "Are you sick, my lady? You look pale," she said, sounding concerned.

"I'm fine. Just a little tired," I reassured her with a small smile, and went into the bathroom to get in the bathtub.

She didn't seem to believe me. She put the back of her hand on my neck and looked at me with concern mixed with fear. "You have a high body temperature. You must have a fever," she concluded.

"I really am fine, Ciara. It's just stress. I'll be okay," I tried to convince her with a smile.

Her shoulders slumped in defeat. "It's okay if you said so."

She stayed silent the whole time, which made me feel even more uneasy. I needed her words in that moment, but she wasn't saying anything.
