Midnight Bookstore

When someone walks into a bookstore who’s to say they aren’t a ghost? I thoroughly enjoyed reading this, many twists and turns and the novel gets very real. There isn’t much horror but the novel is definitely for slightly more mature audiences. This is nothing for kids though I doubt kids read on webnovel but who knows. The world is very interesting, there is a hell and ghosts exist. The MC is one of these ghosts who managed to leave hell and even luckier, managed to possess someone’s body. Hehe. The start of the story starts off kinda awkward since he possessed someone’s body and not much is known about how hell operates but it very quickly becomes interesting. Here a tip while reading: Don’t. Trust. Anyone. The main character gets his character development. His first life was as an orphan and a doctor. You’d think that nothing special happened around him but you’d be wrong. He’s quite intelligent later on when dealing with ghosts and such but he isn’t a cold lifeless doll. He gets angry and depressed too despite being rational most of the time. The supporting characters are quite nice. I like them. They might also have their own circumstances but we’ll find out in the future (if this novel gets picked which I f*cking hope it does). The story has a general direction but and we can mostly guess how it develops in that direction. But with all these twists, turns, and incidents popping up, it’s definitely not going to be boring. Translation is good too, some background we don’t understand is explained by the translators. All in all, this better get chosen to replace the hole that has been left by Plague Doctor. You don’t understand how little novels there are of this genre compared to other genres like system and xianxia and such.

Haven't read it yet, but the summary is giving me Trafford's Trading Club vibes. I guess I'll read it later and update this review after I do (if I remember :P).

I don't know what I was expecting from this, but whatever expectations I did have were exceeded. With a commendable character development and ease of readability, this truly proved to be an engaging story.

If you read reviews, you might think it's something amazing, something like Trafford's Trading Club or Thriller Paradise. Unfortunately, no matter how it tries to mask itself, it's a trivial Josei story - a book written for WAMAN by WAMAN.

The story is good, character's had their own opinions and thoughts. They also improved and matured as the novel goes on, and that's the good thing...The bad thing is the translation became worse and unbearable to read in chapter 61 and so forth...Makes me felt headaches as I read. I hope they hire new editors or new translations for this novel....such a waste

the story is good if you read the manga but this novel translation is bad not really mtl level but bad, I can still read but it's confusing, one example is there auntie and then the translation next using he not she, and the zombie lady Bai the translator always changing the way she is one zombie then lady bai then whiteingle, then bai yingying. the translation is bad I don't know if the editor edited or not.

writing quality got worse after locked chapters, felt cheated of my time. sometimes it's just mumbo jumbo sentences that you don't understand appear here and there. other than that, it's okay. Can't recommend to someone who want to invest their time on this novel

A horror novel of superb quality. I had no idea that this was translated into a novel. I thought the comic/manga was only where the story was available. I am glad that it was decided for the novel to be continued translated. Each characters have their own story, which makes them unique instead of multiple characters with the same template. The story is also somewhat deep, and gets you thinking about all kinds of issues with life. The horror element may not give you bone chilling fear or possible sleep paralysis, it does have its own kind of scary and mysterious elements. I strongly recommend people to give this novel a try.

I found out about this novel from the comic version, Night Bookstore. I compared the novel to the comic and the comic version was close to the novel. However, the novel had temple scenes that did not show up in the comic version. Also, the novel showed even more about the damage that false accusations can cause. I hope this novel will get updated so I can see how accurate the comic version is in relation to the comic.

The mc was killed and possessed the body of his killer. He got certain supernatural powers from a dying old man. It looks like this is a psychological novel where the mc deals with being a ghost and human at the same time, it also seems to be a weak to strong type of novel.
