chapter 22-the gang meeting

at the gangs meeting

the gang leaders are sitting around a table facing each other in silence while waiting for the main leader to arrive

while waiting the atmosphere around midnight and unity grow cold as unity glares at midnight with intensity and anger while midnight does the same but is also unbothered

the main leader who is known as mercy arrives as everyone turns their attention towards him while he sits in the big chair at the end of the table

someone goes around collecting the papers that contain reports from each gang which contain contents on each gang's activity

the person gives the papers to mercy who looks to through them as everyone sits there silently

mercy puts the papers down in front of him

"it concerns me" mercy says as everyone looks at him in confusion

"midnight welcome back i see you've decided to settle back here" mercy asks to midnight

"yes sir after moving around I've ended up back here which seems to be where I'll be staying temporarily if not permanently" midnight responds with seriousness

"good it'll be beneficial if you'd decided to stay considering your recent increase in numbers" mercy says

"yes we brought in a bunch of people which turned out to be more than I had expected but we've handled it well and they seem to have settled in nicely and will be in the field shortly" midnight says

"good but there have also been some issues regarding your arrival that I'd like to address" mercy asks with a tone of seriousness as if he's doing business

"it says here that you have invaded sunlight's territory which is common but you had retracted your members after finding out so I'd like an explanation" mercy says waiting

"it appears that while settling in I forgot to tell the newcomers from the other areas our exact area in which the gang resides which caused a misunderstanding" Kelly explains

"I have punished them accordingly to sunlight's suggestion and the matter has been dealt with"midnight says finishing her report

"good then I'd like to address the numbers in which your gang has increased by and where exactly you've gotten them from if it was not through a recruiting process" mercy asks

"I have a separate report for you which I'd like to give at the end of this meeting as I do not wish to address it out loud" midnight says while coming to an agreement

"very well then I will be seeing you after this meeting is over" mercy says

"thank you sir" midnight says

"now then onto the next topic unity in your report you've said that midnight has stolen something" mercy asks looking at unity "something very precious as is mentioned here"

"if it's so precious then you should've treated them better" Kelly says interrupting as unity's anger rises

"that doesn't give you the right to take her" unity says shouting as he slams his hands on the table standing up"it's my property

"she is a child not property" midnight shouts back as she stands up

"enough!" mercy shouts, making midnight an unity sitting back down as they glare at each other and turn their attention back to mercy as he begins talking

"midnight I did not speak to you so next time wait your turn" mercy says as he turns back to unity

"now unity explains first what happened" mercy says as unity starts explaining

"I left her in my office to take care of business only to find her gone when I got to call out the search parties I noticed midnight on the roof with the child on her back" unity explains

"I see" mercy says

"midnight will you please explain to me your side" mercy asks

"yes" midnight says as she starts explaining

"before that I had encountered him not only threatening her but also another child in an alley trying to drag her back by force" midnight explains

"then you should've just walked past what I do is none of your business" unity says interrupting midnight

"sorry to tell you this but that other child was my heir in which you had injured which is an offense in itself" midnight says threatening unity

"since when have you had an heir let alone a child that's older that's older than the time you've been gone" unity says

"since then thanks to you, I was going to wait to search for him but you've made it easier" midnight explains

unity glares at midnight while mercy begins to speak

"it did not mention in your report that you've found an heir" mercy says wanting an explanation

"yes it is in my other report, he was a child I had before I got involved here so I was not planning to make him my heir" midnight explains

"I will discuss this with you in more detail after this is over then but for now please explain why you took unity's child even after you had yours" mercy asks with an annoyed tone

"well seeing as how frightened the child was and how mine was willing to protect the child so much I decided to finish the job since she is not declared an heir I thought there would now be any harm"midnight says

"no harm you took what was mine, so what if she wasn't my heir that still doesn't mean you should've taken her" unity says in interruption with his voice becoming louder

"she came to me of her own accord once I got there, I hadn't even said anything before she ran up to me" midnight says matching his tone of voice

"I want war" unity says in his outburst of anger

"and why should I waste resources on someone as pathetic as you?" midnight says in response

unity stands up and grabs midnights collar and goes to punch her but she grabs his wrist and pulls it down to the table as she takes her other hand and slams his head into the table

unity picks his head up and attempts to grab her to retaliate but a loud bang echoes across the room as everyone falls silent and they both stop and look over at mercy

"That's Enough!" unity yells as midnight and unity both retracted back into their seats

"there will be no war and if either of you disobey then I will be the one setting war upon you is that clear" mercy says in a threatening tone of voice

"yes sir" midnight and unity both say at the same time

they both sit in silence until the end of the meeting

they get up to leave as unity begins to speak

"this isn't over ill get her back" unity says

"sorry but that won't be happening anytime soon after all the game has just begun" midnight says in a cocky tone

"well then we'll see who turns out to be victorious in the end now won't we" unity says in a cocky tone

"well then good luck your gonna need it after all" midnight says with a cocky tone as unity leaves
