Episode 3: New Teammate

Everyone looked at each other as they stopped carrying out their respective tasks and glance at Mia who is making her way to the car. Liam trails behind her and the thought of her leaving gives him goosebumps as he knows that most of the responsibility of the troops will be on him and he could already feel exhausted.

Louis Baska always said girls cannot be in charge of a business or anything for they cannot do so but with Mia leaving he feels he is so wrong about that for even men find it difficult to control certain aspects in a business or any leadership position. A man dressed in a black tuxedo and black glasses stepped out of the passengers' seat and opened the door for Mia. Mia was about to step into the car when she snapped her fingers again and Liam walked to her side. She whispered something in his ears before she stepped into the car and the door was closed by the man in a tuxedo.

The jeep zoomed off once the man sat on the passengers' seat and closed the door. Liam stood for a while watching the jeep fly on the road until it vanished. He sighed and turned to meet some of his colleagues who were eager to know where Mia was heading to.

"I can't tell you where she is going to for I do not know," he said rubbing his temples

One of the guys scoffed. "And you expect us to believe that," he said

"She tells you almost everything," a lady behind him said

"I'm glad you admit is almost everything," Liam said putting his hands in his pockets

"Then what did she whisper in your ears?" another guy said

"Nothing you need to know," Liam said

"Who knows maybe they are a thing," another guy said and everyone nodded laughing

"Enough!!!" Liam yelled and everywhere became silent "Do your jobs. I'm sure you don't want me to tell her that so that discussion ends here" He said and walks into the building while everyone diligently continued carrying out what they were up to earlier

In the jeep as it zoomed off with at least eighty-five miles per hour. A fair guy putting on a black tuxedo and black eyeglass sat beside Mia watching the road. Mia operated her phone browsing through Baska's business portal to check updates. He took a glance at her and went back to watching the road as the driver drove. After some minutes he diverted his attention from the road back to Mia and took off his eyes when he felt she was about to turn in his direction but she did not. He did that three consecutive times.

"What is it?" Mia asked with a hoarse voice staring down at her phone screen

"What do you mean?" the guy asked

"You've been staring at me so why are you doing so?" Mia asked trying to be narrative

The guy took off his eyeglasses and stared at Mia with his forehead folded. Mia glanced at him and returned her gaze to her phone. "I did nothing like that," the guy said

Mia turned off her phone and glanced at him. He had beautiful blue eyes with a masculine jawline that every man loves to have. His eyelashes flicked as he stared at Mia thinking he might have offended her. Mia turned to her window escaping to her thoughts. She sees her thoughts as her only comforter. Her mind wondered. Ever since she made her father sign those papers, her mind has been very busy and her schedule is always tight. From the meetings to the activities of the troop.

People say she is the leader of the underworld because she controls each criminal in the city. Novis city is a known city that harbors many criminals and supernatural beings and rumors have it that Mia has all these in her as she controls them but not all the time as she does not care as long as they do not cross her boundary.

After a little more drive, the jeep pulled up at a story building beautifully painted in yellow with the pillars painted brown. Three men stood before the building in the compound with hands behind their back when Mia stepped down they looked at themselves looking confused. She glanced at her phone and then to the guys expectantly waiting for their boss to emerge out of the vehicle. After some seconds he did and he walked to them with Mia beside him.

"This is your new teammate," he said "Introduce yourselves"

The first guy approached Mia looking displeased and Mia moved her head around like she does not care about her environment. He stretched his hand forward for a handshake and Mia shakes them firmly like a proper businesswoman which made him surprised. "My name is Dara. Nice to meet you"

Mia nods and says "Pleased. Mia Bas" and Dara went back to his spot

The next came with the same indifferent attitude of Mia. "Ethan Lawel," he said giving Mia a handshake

Mia nods and he leaves giving way for the last guy to walk up to Mia. He seemed quite excited as he smiled broadly at Mia and give her a handshake "Jackson, is my name but you can call me Jack" he said

Mia found his countenance amusing as his voice sounded like that of a baby. "Mia Bas. A pleasure to meet you, Jack"

Jackson nods happily and whispers "Should I call you Mia or Bas?"

"Any of your choice" Mia replied

"Bas then," Jackson said and walks back to the group

Mia had no idea why he chose Bas rather than Mia but she feels her decision might be worth it after all. Mia watched as the group talked to each other in a low tone but Mia had a good sense of hearing and she was able to hear what they were saying.

"Why did you choose her?" Ethan said squeezing his face

"She is the best I could find" their boss replied

"Then why is she covering her face?" Dara said

"Maybe she is ugly," Ethan said putting his hand in his jacket's pocket and smirking

"She loves her face hidden and as a matter of fact no one has ever seen her face since she was sixteen"

"Why? Belief?" Jackson asked smiling

"I have no idea but you all treat her like she belongs, alright?" the boss said

Everyone nods. "I love her already," Jackson said

"Where is Sarah?" their boss asked

"She is in," Ethan said glaring at Mia who seemed to glare back at him sending him off
