Prologue

YEAR 2018

Today is our field trip and I'm not in the mood because of Ryan. He's a worthless boyfriend! He doesn't deserve to live! He promised that he will go with me but no! He did not! Hope he die soon!

"Are you really that mad?" Claire said while calpping her hands, she's my friend. "Can't believe! Why are you really in love with that boyfriend of yours?" She said while laughing.

"Girl! What are you? If your boyfriend looks like Ryan Gallardo, you will really be in love." Mara said and give high five to Claire. "You are really crazy with that Ryan Gallardo."

I glared at her with a deadly look. "Shut the f*cking up, Bipolar!" I said and rolled my eyes. Claire look at me like I shouldn't said it because that's too foul. Well, I'm stating a fact.

We are in the bus for our educational field trip. We have many places to go and it's all historical. Isn't it corny? They said that Intramuros is a nice place and we will also visit in a museum.

"Oh girl, I will recommend you a book." Claire started a topic. I lazily looked at her. I am too bored and not in mood. "Mi Amore."

Mara laughed so I looked at her with a question mark in my eyes. "You are really stupid, It is already required!" She looked at me. "Prof. Lienzo the handsome said that we should read it for our next lesson."

"Shut up! He is my crush! Don't say that he's handsome because he is already mine." Claire said and hit Mara. Mara hit her also so they started to fight. "But still read it. I already read it before Prof. Lienzo requested. I swear, it's really wonderful story and it's very despondent You will really get hurt. It's a tragic story. I cried after I finished it."

I craned my neck and look at her. "You really loves to read tragic huh? Why don't you read a happy ending so you're just happy?" I rolled my eyes. "It's kinda eew if you cry on the story. It's just fictional so don't you cry that much." I looked at the window

"It's not based on the ending if the story is good!" Mara's answered while shouting. I think she didn't take the medicine. "That's in the process of the story. On the whole. If you cried, did you shudder, did you get angry if yes, the story was good. You were affected."

"You are so noisy Mara. Shut up! Haven't you taken any medicine?" I said beacuse I'm already annoyed. I just felt drowsy while we were traveling

We only woke up when we reached the intramuros. The view is beautiful and it looks like you are really going back to the past but you are now wearing PE uniform crazy right? We still do PE because we are just senior high school. So annoying! By the way I'm 18 years old and grade 12 student.

"Come here to the dungeon, Beauty!" Claire said with a smile. I just nodded at her because I am not in the mood to go and explore. This is all because of Ryan, my boyfriend.

They just take pictures while I, am not in the mood to walk here. If you will have a boyfriend like him, will you be happy? I'm really going to break up with Ryan. He promised that he will be with me but he didn't join us! Next we went to the National Museum of the Philippines.

"Form your line, students." Professor Lienzo said with a baritone voice. He looked at me intently. I rolled my eyes at him. "By height." And because of that, I became even more depressed. I was ahead, next to Mara.

There was a tour guide with us on the works. The man was familiar but I can't remember him so I guess i didn't know him. Maybe we have met before but he's not that important so I forgot about him.

"This work is called Mi Amore." Explanation of our tour guide in the painting. His eyebrows, eyes, and hair are all brown. He looks kind, no, I mean he looks so illegal. "This work was created by Mr. Graciano Del Pilar, who is also the author of Mi Amore, the Historical Fiction?

"Ahh!" My classmates nodded like a kid. I observe the painting. The man, hugged the woman but the woman turned her back. The man in the work looks like our tour guide. I think I'm the only one who can notice since I'm the one in front.

This tour guide man is also tall, his complexion is a bit brown but it's okay that his handsomeness is not being reduced because of it. What? Did I just said his handsome? Why am I complimenting this man when I don't even know him?

"By the way, I am Brother Sean and I am your tour guide for the day." He smiled causing his good looks to be further refined. You know, he really likes model or actor.

""Mr. Sean's looks handsome, right? If I don't get lucky with Prof Leonardo, I'll pursue Mr. Sean!" Claire laughed as she sat next to me. The queue is long so there is a second batch of queues but Claire is not small like me

"Well me, sorry not sorry. I will never trade Prof Lienzo Leonardo for any boylet!" Mara laughed in front of me. The chatter of the two is really annoying. "But I must say that he is really handsome. What do you think, Beauty?"

"It's OK." I pretended that I don't really care but the truth is, he is really handsome. The two of them are not satisfied with my answer so they rolled their eyes. The tour guide started talking again but I was too tired to follow what he was saying.

"Ah, Mr. Leonardo, can I share the story of Mi Amore with them?" Brother Sean asked. Our prof nodded because that's what he makes us read.

He has already started telling stories. This is based on a true story, he said. "Do you know Hermosa Montealegre? She is the wife of Graciano Del Pilar and she is also one of the young women who fought for our freedom."

"Wow, you boys are rotten, look at Hermosa, she's a girl but still fought for our freedom!" Claire made a loud noise to annoy our male classmates who only knew to play mobile games. We girls laughed while the boys look mad.

"Oh stop it." Kuya Sean laughed. "Even Graciano Del Pilar was also a Katipunero. They fought together for freedom but Hermosa Montealegre played the role quickly because she had personal problems." He said with a smile.

Is that so? Does she also have personal problems? Now, I have become more interested because they said it is based on true story, I thought it was just a fiction. I don't want to cry over a story which is not true.

As the story goes on, I got too carried away with the story. I think I am Hermosa but no, it's impossible. As he told the story more, some memories came back to me. Memories do not seem to me. The era is different, my name is different, everything is different. It is a very unfamiliar memory.
