2 2. Awakening.

4 years later…

Soaked in sweat, I woke up struggling from the sudden heat surging inside my body..

For a few moments, I was unable to process the situation. I felt like my bones were melting, the pain was far from anything I have ever experienced in my new life.

"AHHHHHHH!"

I let out a loud painful groan, clenching to my chest, I couldn't help but groan, the pain was just so horrible that for a moment,I thought dying would be far easier than it.

I felt my brain going numb from the pain, My vision getting blurry and my consciousness slowly fading away..

*Click* I barely heard the door to my room open before everything went dark.

Waking up inside a bright and unfamiliar room, I quickly sat up and looked around, the slight smell of antiseptic lingered in the air.

And it didn't take me long to notice that I was in the hospital cabinet, beside my bed my mother was sleeping with her head on the bed and her hand tightly holding mine.

Looking at her sleeping a smile creeped up on my face. I won't lie, at first I didn't want to get attached to her, Afterall I hope that my real mother was still alive somewhere..or maybe.

And it was not like I can just accept a new mother, but fate and my feeling surely loves to play with me first that old man and Now her Yuhiko Yamazaki, the lady who brought me into this world.

I don't know when it happened, or how it happened, But I got attached to her. I started seeing her as my mother, was it due to her caring nature or was I affected when I saw her working so hard just to raise me as a single-mother. When her husband abondend her after realizing she was pregnant, She could have easily done a abortion or maybe Left me outside an orphanage when I was born.

But she didn't. Is it what it feels like having a mother..I seriously don't know how to feel about it, I shook my head.

As if sensing the moving, she lifted her head and looked at me, it only took a few seconds before she tear up and hugged, unwilling to let go of me.

I can feel my shoulder and back getting wet.

"It's okay Mom, I am fine",

I consoled her as I slowly stroked her back.

After letting out her emotions, She continued to embrace me in her tight hug.

We didn't speak much, but I can feel her fear of losing the only person she was living for.

After she came down, she told me what the report said.

That my quirk was showing signs of Awakening, the quirk might be a strong one to show such side effects during Awakening, but it was just an assumption according to the doctors.

I see, So this was what it was all about.

Again after a thorough check up we left for home.

Anyway during these 4 years, I did my best recalling the powers ghost Rider, but to my disappointment, my previous life's memories were a mess, I only vividly remember the character and nothing more.

I even tried to remember my hero academia anime, in which I am currently in.

And it was the same, there wasn't much information there, only a few things I remember like the name of the protagonist which was Deku and the UA high school he went to.

Anyway I am excited for the Awakening process.

2th of October.

2 months after the incident, I was finally able to awaken my quirk.

A skull engulfed in flames, blackish shine emitting with patterns, giving the skull the charm of devil and the dignity of king.

Hmm..am I overexerting, anyway I liked the look, I thought looking at my reflection in the mirror.

Taking a glance at the digital clock beside my bed.

<1 : 00 am>

Good.. Seeing that I still have time, I decided to sneak out of the house.

With low and steady steps, I picked up my skateboard from the dining room.. But the previously dark room suddenly got lit up..

Fuck! Cursing under my breath, my body instantly froze, while my mind raced trying to come up with an excuse.

"Jin, what are you doing here?"

I heard my mother's voice from behind, I slowly pushed the skateboard underneath the self with my foot and quickly turned back.

"I was thirsty mom",

Making a simple excuse I ran up to her, and made her lift me up in her embrace.

Fuck..it feel so embarrassing.. 

"You should have wake me, honey"

She replied as he poured me a glass of water, before taking me to her room to sleep.

And this is how my first attempt to sneak out of the house failed miserably..

As time slowly passed and I finally turned eight this year.

I was slowly and steadily learning about my quirk while continuing my education in a nearby school.

First thing first, I learned about the ability of hell fire, that my quirk grants me. I can use the fire  to enhance the capabilities of any item that comes in contact with it. 

Second, My quirk also provides me with superhuman strength..

Third, I am pretty invincible when I fully transform in the ghost Rider form.

Yeah that's all I knew currently, although I wanted to experiment more, but sneaking out of the house is pretty hard you know.

"Jin, Midoriya is here",

I heard my mom shouting, as she knocked on my room door.

"Yeah coming"

Jumping down the bed, I quickly walked towards the house's front door. I saw Midoriya standing there with a glass box hanging around his waist while he was holding an insect net in his hand.

"Yoo, what are you up to Midoriya?"

I asked, he was one of only friends I have in school, and we also live in the same building, So being friends was kind of inevitable.

"Insect hunting, Wanna come"

He asked with a cheerful smile.

Isn't it obvious he wanted me to come with him? Can't help it can we.

Quickly picking up my skateboard, I walked out with him.

"Mom I going out with Midoriya"

To be honest, at first I just felt pity for him, as he was labeled as the quirkless kid, by the nearby kid. And that was the reason I started talking with him and now he ended up becoming the one dear friend of mine.

*Sigh* I shrugged as I looked at Midoriya explaining where we will go, cheerfully.

"Hey Midoriya, Wanna see something cool"

I asked him, interrupting his explanation. Midoriya looked at me confused.

Putting my skateboard down, I put my right foot on it , and said.

"Come-on get in, I will give you a free ride",

Midoriya continued looking at me, not understanding what I meant, but he simply got on the skateboard a few moments later.

Suddenly the flames engulfed the wheel of the skateboard and its length increased, making it long enough for both of us to ride. Flame patterns started to appear on the board.

"What's happening"

Midoriya asked dumbfounded,

"Don't worry, I have your back",

Saying that I started slow, pushing the skateboard, but the speed rapidly increased.

There was no stopping, although I can hear Midoriya screaming but I simply ignored it, as I turned it towards the forest.

I finally turned it off when I noticed people in the park. It was actually illegal to use quirks without a hero license.

"Why did you use…"

Not letting Midoriya complete his sentence, I covered his mouth.

"Keep it down, will you", I shussed him,"Or do you want me to go to jail"

Simply shaking his head, Midoriya got down from the skateboard.

"Sorry"

Midoriya apologized,

"Anyway let's go hunting", I ignored his useless sorry, why did he apologize all of sudden.

I grabbed my skateboard and started walking away.

"Come-on let go, then I can give you a ride home again",

Midoriya shook his head directly showing his disagreement with my proposal and then followed behind me.

He is scared, lol.

After catching a few butterflies and beetles, we headed home near evening.

Now the real hunt is going to start.. I have quite some plans for tonight.
