53 Chapter 52 – Return to Normalcy

The Next Day

.

Life was back to normal, since no one had been injured amongst the students, there had been no day off, school was back to schedule, and that meant I was going to teach again…

And, of course, my first class was with 1-A, who were all giving their 110%, they were way too motivated, but that wasn't bad.

Well, almost all way too motivated, Bakugou was back from his suspension and just looked really confused, and equally angry (though that wasn't really a surprise), but he was doing his best to hold it, he knew I was watching him, and I wouldn't use every single little thing he did against him, I was not evil, but if he lost control, we both knew he would be out, fast.

The rest of the students, other than being motivated, looked at me in a new light, they did see me win against 47 villains, with all of them in a team against me, so even if I was fighting quirkless (which I was technically not, since I had passive quirks that I couldn't turn off), I could beat them in a fight.

One student in particular, Midoriya, who was also All Might's inheritor, looked at me like I was his new idol, but I guess that since he was quirkless before, and saw me obliterate villains while fighting without a quirk and being the same age as him, it did put a light on the difference in our training and ability, so it was understandable that he would idolize me.

I had trained almost every single free second I had since I was five and, looking at him, I could see that he started training maximum two years ago, maybe even only a year ago.

That's why I found him a bit hypocritical, he clearly never trained a day of his life before All Might offer him his quirk, one of the most powerful in the world, but he still wanted to be a hero. It doesn't work like that, heroes need to train, even if they have an extremely powerful quirk, and not having a quirk doesn't automatically prevent you from being a hero. Well, it clearly didn't prevent Knuckle Duster to fight evil.

Still, I could see why All Might chose him, he had a "hero's heart" which, in reality, is a sacrificial complex that I find is an extremely stupid behaviour when you don't have power to back yourself. Throwing yourself in front of villains without a plan isn't usually a good idea, just saying…

However, All Might saw that in him and that's why he chose him, which ultimately wasn't a bad thing as Midoriya would clearly be a very good hero in the future, once he had a harness on his power.

But here am I, judging Midoriya and saying he's a hypocrite while I'm the biggest hypocrite here, hiding dozens of quirk and manipulating children… I guess I can't really judge Midoriya, can I?

.

Enough about this, there was also another reason why all the students were training like their lives depended on it, the sports festival was approaching fast, and that meant that they would have the chance to prove themselves to the world and make themselves known to the entire of Japan, getting the chance to work with the best heroes out there!

Or at least that's what they told the students, but really, only the top three would realistically get a chance to work with a well-known hero and most people watched the second and third years, they were way more interesting to watch, after all, they had more time to train.

But, it did motivate the students, so…

.

Just like that, time continued to fly at an alarming pace, and the two weeks separating us from the sports festival were gone, in a frenzy of training even more intense than usual for the students.

On my part, I tried, I tried hard, to find information on the League of Villains, but was less successful than I hoped I would be. But that didn't mean I was completely unsuccessful, I had still find out some things.

First, "Sensei", as I had presumed, was All for One, the supposed archenemy of All Might, someone who could steal and give quirks, but that sadly didn't use his ability for good.

The only thing I was able to learn about him was that he was as hold as the age of quirks, was gravely injured in a fight against All Might 5 or 6 years ago, at the same time All Might was injured, and that, before that, he ruled the underworld was an iron grip.

That meant, as I had suspected, that he was probably the only one in Japan who could go toe to toe against me in a fight, he had hundreds of quirks while I had fewer, but that worked together better. Quality against quantity.

Also, he was the one behind the League of Villains, the true leader, but he was grooming Shigaraki for some reason. I had a few hypotheses, but I hope they weren't true otherwise this would be a lot of trouble.

But I was certain that he was not the one who had made the Nomu, he had someone who helped him, but, again, finding more information, even with Giran's help, was pretty much impossible.

It would take me time and energy, but I would find out who and where they were, and send them where they belonged, in prison.

Also, seeing that I wasn't successful in finding information about them, a plan formed in my head. Maybe a slightly crazy one, and one that involved Dabi, but a plan nonetheless.

The League of Villain would certainly want to expand in the near future, and one of the best ways to do that was to gather more members. That's where Dabi would be involved, I wanted him as a mole inside the League of Villain.

Though, this wouldn't happen in the near future, the League of Villains was still at the infant stage, but in the future…

.

During the weeks before the sports festival, I had also continued to well, be a Vigilante, teach students and hang out, when I had time, with Kyotaka, but nothing really noteworthy happened.

Now, though, something was happening, today was the day of the sports festival, the tension was palpable in the air, every student being on the edge and extremely anxious.

But there were still classes today, before the sports festival, so, getting out of my thoughts, I walked toward class 1-A only to see a small commotion happening involving 1-A and students from the general education program.

I spotted several students that I thought had very interesting and powerful quirk amongst them, but that sadly weren't suited to fight robots so they got into general education, which wasn't a bad program, it was a very good one in fact, but it wasn't at the level of the heroic's course.

The General Ed students antagonized 1-A a bit, but I chose to simply stay on the sidelines and do nothing, as what they were saying wasn't false and needed to be said.

"There are a lot of kids in the General Education Department that are there because they failed to get into heroic's one, you know? But did you know that, based on the results of the sports festival, people can come under review to switch program into the heroic's ones….and vice versa? So you better watch your back…and your spot, cause next thing you know, your place is mine…"

The one who had just spoken was the student in Gen Ed that I found the most interesting, Shinsou Hitoshi.

I'm not going to lie, the main reason he was interesting was because of his quirk, Brainwashing, which was ridiculously powerful, but sadly not very suited to fight robots. Humans, though…

Brainwashing (6512): Can assume control of anyone who responds to one of user's verbal statement.

Yeah, it was…something else, and the type of quirk I feared to most before I got protection against them. Now, they simply didn't work on me anymore because of my quirk "Soul".

I was also thinking that, even if he didn't really train, he would be able to get into the heroic's course as his quirk would be extremely suited for certain situations, such as hostages and suicide attempts, as well as fights, he would win if his opponent answered him.

Since class was starting soon and that the Gen Ed student's message had been said, I spoke.

"Yes, this is true, we, the teachers, are always looking to put the students who deserve it the most into the hero course, which means that no one's spot is secure. If we feel that you aren't putting efforts and that your place would be better used on someone else, you will lose it. But since class are starting soon, please return to your homerooms, I think your we will all be able to see if you deserve a spot into a hero class during the sports festival, later today."

My words effectively calmed and made the Gen Ed student leave, but their plan had worked, I could see that some of 1-A's students were starting to fear being moved into Gen Ed.

I said nothing, there was nothing to say, and simply taught my class as always, but since it was the last class before the sports festival, their attention wasn't entirely there…

Soon, the bell rang, marking the imminent beginning of the event which was causing all of this trouble...
