Air manipulation: Quirk explanation

Users can create, shape and manipulate air, the common name given to the layer of atmospheric gases and various compounds (mostly oxygen and nitrogen) surrounding the planet Earth that is retained by Earth's gravity, and possibly wind, movement of air relative to the surface of the planet. It is an important factor in determining and controlling climate and weather, and the generating force of most ocean and freshwater waves. Wind occurs because of horizontal and vertical differences in atmospheric pressure, and include breezes, squalls, gusts, whirlwinds, zephyrs, gales, tempests, and hurricanes.

Since air cannot be seen by conventional methods, neither can the attacks and derivatives formed by/from it, making it an invisible and versatile weapon that is very difficult to block and dodge.

1. Applications

Aero kinetic constructs: Users can turn the air into tools, objects, weapons and other items, create semi-living constructs and/or create structures/buildings of varying permanence and solidity. Users who have mastered this ability can use it for almost any situation, creating anything they need.

Aero kinetic Immunity: User is immune to air/wind, being completely invulnerable to direct and indirect effects

Aero-Telekinesis by controlling the air around objects: user can manipulate matter using air or wind

Aero kinetic Flight: The user of this ability are able to take flight by riding the air currents, by a wind storm like a tornado, and/or self-produced air/wind.

Air Walking: Users can walk on the air, as if it were solid matter. They can run and move across the air as if walking on the ground, giving them greater maneuverability in their environment.

Enhanced Strength by using air pressure to lift heavy objects and land harder strikes.

Repel projectiles by controlling air vectors: Users are capable of deflecting attacks, normally projectiles or blunt force, away from themselves. While usually a defensive method, it can be utilized as an offensive technique by redirecting the deflected attacks against others, or even against the original attacker.

Air Attacks: The user can release/use air/wind for attacks of various shapes and/or intensities, either projected, used as a part of melee attacks, etc.

Air Boundary: The user can separate/block any air from anything and everything else. When this power is used, it makes it impossible for matter and waves to react with, enter, leave, move through, or be absorbed by the separated air or for any energy to be transferred to and from the separated air, or simply for any alteration/interaction to occur with the separated air. What is also defined as "air" on another planet might also be subject to this power's affect.

Air Detection: The user can sense the presence of air and possibly gain detailed information about the air they are sensing, including the amount/size of air they are sensing and whether it is hidden.

Air/Wind Generation:

- Tornado Creation: The user can create tornadoes, whirlwinds and similar forms of wind storms.

Air Interaction: The user can interact with air as if it was physical. They can grab or touch it as if it were tangible or a solid object.

Air Pressure Generation: The user is able to generate/increase air pressure, allowing them to use the atmosphere to crush their opponents and impede their actions.

Air Purification: The user can clean/purify air, cleansing it of any pollution and toxins that may exist in it and rendering it safe for breathing (if fresh air) and habitation.

Air Solidification: The user can manipulate pressure in the air molecules to solidify the air, with the level of solidity going from loose jelly to metal-like hardness or beyond.

Atmospheric Adaptation: The user's lungs acclimatize and breathe in/on any gaseous mediums, whether hostile or deficient, users lungs also filter away non-gaseous substances such as dust, asbestos, etc. They can breathe toxic gases instead of oxygen and survive mountain, aerial, or terrene air deficiency, which are among the longest and most painful deaths the average human can suffer.

Enhanced Senses using air/wind:

- Enhanced Hearing by amplifying air molecule vibrations.

- Enhanced Touch by reading the air and feel any disturbances.

- Enhanced Smell detecting a smell that goes in the air.

Enhanced Speed by reducing air resistance and using pressurized air for propulsion.

Pressure Manipulation via controlling air molecules.

- Crushing by increasing air pressure: The user can crush and/or deform objects around them by making physical contact or through other means. Individuals who are affected by this power are afflicted with severely misshapen bones that appeared as if they had simply grown that way their whole lives.

- Vibration Emission by releasing bursts of compressed air molecules: The user can generate vibration waves that can push targets over, propel them away, shatter them, even cause earthquakes by shaking the ground or dislodging underground tectonic plates, thus causing earthquakes.

Tornado Manipulation: The user can create, shape and manipulate tornadoes and tornado-like phenomena, rapidly rotating column of air that is in contact with both surface and a cloud. Various types of tornadoes include the multiple vortex tornado, land spout, waterspout, and the cyclone.

2. Techniques

Accelerated Rotation by spinning in a tornado-like manner: The user can spin for both offensive and defensive purposes. They can also spin in a cartwheel like fashion or a flipping like fashion, or they can twist around their vertical axis as well. They may also possibly use this to manipulate the air and wind.

Aerial Communication: The user can communicate with the winds in the surrounding area. This ability makes for an excellent tracking mechanism as the winds can move all throughout an environment and report back to a user its information. Winds can tell the user of what happened or what is happening, help them to track someone at long distance away, etc.

Aero kinetic Combat: The user is able to utilize air manipulation with their physical combat, granting both high maneuverability and elemental attacks.

Aero kinetic Invisibility by manipulating air densities to refract EM radiation such as light: The user can become invisible when in/on/touching air.

Aero kinetic Regeneration: The user can use air/wind to regenerate their bodies with the amount of oxygen used defining the speed of healing.

Aeroportation: The user can teleport via air, merging into air and appearing anywhere else from the same element. The stronger the wind is, the farther the user will go.

Air Absorption: The user can absorb air, while removing it from the source, into their body and use it in various ways, gaining some form of advantage, either by enhancing themselves, gaining the drained power, using it as power source etc., either temporarily or permanently.

Air Augmentation: The user has the power to increase the amounts of air or powers related to air.

Air Aura: The user can release and surround themselves in/with air/wind for defensive and/or offensive purposes, possibly becoming almost untouchable and granting them various abilities/attacks. The aura may also give the user enhanced physical capabilities such as speed, strength and durability.

Air Current Sense: The user is able to sense air currents, thus enabling them to detect changes and disturbances in the air. This can enable the user to sense incoming attacks and respond accordingly

Air Defense: The user possesses defensive skills that are enhanced by air/wind powers, allowing them to block, parry, dodge, etc. with the power of air/wind.

Air Empowerment: Users become stronger, faster, more durable, etc. when they come in contact with air or wind, possibly unlocking abilities related to the affinity and enhancing the existing powers. Some users may be able draw sustenance from the air or even slow or stop aging.

Air Mimicry: The user is made up of or can transform their body completely into air. A user's transformed form is anatomically identical to their normal form, aside of being made of air, in which case it contains all to organs and is somewhat vulnerable to attacks. Alternately the user can transform into homogeneous matter, without any part of their form being more important than the other.

Air Sealing: The user is able to seal air/wind within objects/beings and release them when needed, causing it to have various effects on the target

Air Transformation: User can transform the bodies of others into air. Target may become a hybrid between their normal state and air or become an entity of living air in a pure elemental form

Air/Wind Transmutation: The user can transform matter and objects, including living beings, into wind, currents of air.

Deoxygenation by removing the oxygen in the atmosphere.

Enhanced Breath

- Enhanced Lung Capacity: The user has the ability to use the oxygen in their lungs very effectively, enabling them to hold their breath for extended periods of time while staying active. This may also include birdlike lungs that allow the user to keep their lungs constantly filled with fresh air.

Explosion Inducement by causing the air pressure inside an object to expand.

- Implosion Inducement by increasing external air pressure, causing a cave-in.

- Internal Rupturing by having internal air pressure crush organs.

Healing Wind: The user can heal themselves or others by using air/wind by having air molecules extract harmful substances and bring in medicament at a molecular level, or use air molecules repair and regenerate damaged cells and molecules. They can use air flow to provide more oxygen and nutrients for body parts, effectively increasing metabolism, and pressurizing air to forcefully seal off wounds.

Jet Propulsion via compressed air pressure: The user can use jet propulsion, which is motion produced by passing a jet of matter or energy in the opposite direction to the direction of motion. By conservation of momentum, the moving body is propelled in the opposite direction to the jet. The jet can be a continuous stream or, especially when used by animals, pulsating.

Purification of the air by removing hazardous molecules.

Rot Inducement by oxidizing the target's area: The user can cause anything organic to wither, rot, decay and eventually disintegrate, whether living or deceased.

Sound Absorption/Nullification by keeping air still.

Sound Amplification by increasing vibration of airwaves.
