2 A bite (2/2)

[ The story of the boy who became a hero wanted by justice ~ Chapter Two ~ A bite (2/2). ]

The hours of study passed slowly and with extreme boredom, from mathematics to physics, from literature to languages. The brown-haired boy, Kyouta, studied for four hours straight, from eight in the morning until twelve in the afternoon. During the morning break, no one spoke to him. But now, after the end of school, he was collecting his books normally in order to leave and go back to his home.

While he was putting his books in his bag, someone put his hand forcefully on the table where Kyouta was sitting.

The force with which that person slapped the wooden table made Kyouta stop putting books into his bag, as he slowly looked forward, only to be surprised by the presence of four students smiling sarcastically at him.

At first glance Kyouta was able to understand what these students wanted and what was about to happen, as he was thinking while looking at their faces;

'Isn't this the bullying scene? This scene happens to me every time I move to a new school, but I did not expect this to happen to me on the first day. I like to call this type of people the group of bullies, who are looking for someone like me to impose their control on.'

"You seem very calm for someone who has no ability."

While Kyouta was calmly looking at those students standing in front of him, one of them said those words with a smile, but soon that confidence and smile began to disappear and turn into feelings of discomfort and anger, as that same person added;

"Aren't you even going to answer me? How arrogant do you think you are?"

Kyouta is the type of person who prefers to resolve such arguments without resorting to violence, simply because he will be beaten if the opponent possesses an interesting ability. That's why he answered in a calm tone;

"I was clear at the beginning of the class that I wanted to get along with all the students, which is why I told you directly that I don't have any supernatural ability."

Those four students kept looking at him calmly, and then they all laughed for several seconds, to the point that the sound of their laughter attracted the attention of the rest of the students.

After a few seconds of laughter, one of those four said, smiling:

"You'll get along with us? Don't make me laugh. It's impossible for the owner of a C-level ability and the owner an S-level ability to be at the same rank and get along, let alone someone like you who doesn't even have any ability. You're at the bottom of this school's hierarchy. Your name is Kyouta, right? For your information, I do not like using violence against the weak, so if you agree to provide us with some services, we will pardon you and even protect you."

Kyota remained silent after hearing these words, and was even about to say that he would rather be beaten than serve someone his own age, but before this happened, one of those four students extended a wooden broom to Kyota and said;

"Today is my turn to clean the classroom, but I'm not in the mood to do that. This will be your first simple task."

Kyouta kept looking coldly at the boy who gave him the broom, which made that boy become angry and said after tightening his grip on the broomstick until it was about to break;

"What's wrong with that look? Do you want me to repeat my words?"

Kyouta moved his eyes left and right. None of the other students would defend him, they were all like sheep. Then he looked at the four people in front of him, all of them were serious and ready to beat him up. That's why he sighed and put his hand on the broomstick. The thing that made the four students smile, as one of them said;

"See, I told you he would be obedient. This is much better than wasting time beating him up. We are counting on you, Kota-san..."

Those students walked towards the classroom door and left, where Kyouta then whispered;

"Kota-San? Who is this? And why would you add the word 'San' of respect to someone you don't even respect..."

Then he looked at the rest of the students, none of them spoke to him, they just acted like they didn't see anything and left the class.

After all these events, when the classroom was finally empty, Kyouta sighed after closing his bag, saying in his thoughts while starting to clean the classroom;

'This is Saikono City in short, the crime capital of Japan.

Schools are full of students who keep bragging about their abilities, competing with each other, and fighting. As weak has no place among them. Of course, this happens without the teachers' knowledge, but there are limits to what the teacher or principal can do. Even if the teacher protects me inside school, who will protect me outside it? I prefer to live on the margins and avoid problems as much as possible.

My life wasn't always like this. I only started getting bullied in the last six months. It all started when I moved to Saikono City for family reasons.

When I was in Tokyo, there was security everywhere and a very low crime rate, and there were many people around me who did not have supernatural abilities and we coexisted normally with the rest of the people.

But here in Saikono, strength is the balance, that's why I'm just a nobody...'

While Kyouta was blowing dust left and right with the broom, there was a a red medium-sized spider with blue feet walking on the ceiling of the room, reaching the spot where Kyouta was standing below.

This spider released its transparent sticky thread to land directly on Kyouta's head. Then it started walking quickly through his brown hair, reaching his neck and back.

When Kyouta felt that there was something strange walking on the skin of his back, he threw the broom on the ground and said after he started to turn around himself trying to take off his jacket;

"Wait, don't tell me this is an insect?! I hate insects!"

Kyouta was able to feel every step the spider took on his back, and because he was moving so much, the spider got scared and bit Kyouta's back.

*Ouch!*

When the latter felt the pain of that bite, he became upset and slapped his back at the place of the bite with his right hand, meaning that he killed that spider with one blow.

Kyouta still felt some slight pain at the place of the bite, as he said after he picked up the broom from the ground;

"Are the insects here aggressive or something? I have to shower immediately when I return home..."
