54 Chapter 54 - Time & Death II

"Let's continue with this little waltz shall we?"

Lena felt a chill begin to creep up her back until it reached her neck, ignoring the alarms in her head she quickly activated the night vision on her visor to counteract the lack of light in the hallway.

'Tracer to Command! We have an emergency!' Lena exclaimed in her mind as she kept her gaze fixed on any movement from Reaper. 'Command?!'

After a few seconds of silence she felt as if a part of her mind suddenly activated and a female voice came through, almost as if she was whispering directly into Lena's ear.

'Report the situation quickly Tracer' Replied the woman authoritatively getting straight to the point. 'I'm a little busy here'

The woman was none other than Kojo, whose function was to maintain as much order as possible during the operation by means of her Quirk, Passenger, which allowed her to create a 'Mental Passage' between several people making communication with quite a few people at the same time possible.

The downside to this is that Kojo is completely exhausted both physically and mentally and has to be completely immersed in her mind during the whole process.

'We found Reaper but I don't think we can beat him Lemillion and I alone! We are on the second floor, the lights have been completely turned off leaving us in the dark but we have night vision scopes to counteract the change in light' Lena reported as she frowned slightly. 'We are requesting reinforcements to deal with Reaper!'

The Mental Passage was silent for a moment before Kojo spoke again.

'Understood Tracer, your message has already been sent to the Alpha Team members, we are mobilizing the Beta Team to reinforce the Raid in case Yunma shows up, it shouldn't take more than a few minutes for them to arrive.'

'Understood!' Lena nodded mentally as she felt as if a part of her mind partially left her, there was still there only much weaker.

Lena wasn't stupid, she knew perfectly well that she couldn't beat Reaper alone in one on one combat, maybe with Mirio on her side the scales could even out but Lena had the feeling that Reaper hadn't shown all his cards yet. Plus fighting the Hashimoto left her with little energy, so she would have to manage it as best she could.

"...or a time traveler"

Reaper's mocking voice echoed in her mind like a broken record.

Lena felt the Hole in her chest go crazy as it sent strong Waves throughout her body, shaking her energy like crazy making her unstable.

Lena took a deep breath in an attempt to calm her pounding heart as she pushed the panic to the back of her mind, this was no time to have an episode no matter how much the Hole in her chest wanted to torment her.

Lena felt as if a very familiar voice was speaking in her ear as if wanting to advise her but the voice was distant, almost as if a wall separated them from each other.

Suddenly Reaper moved with even greater speed than before and lunged headlong towards Lena and Mirio at the same time.

He raised his sword for a side swing, which Lena barely managed to dodge by the skin of her teeth before responding with a high kick to his jaw. As expected, Reaper's head dissolved into a mist as he swung his shotgun with his other arm and fired at Mirio's impending fist.

The shot forced Mirio to turn intangible by nullifying his blow if he didn't want to get shrapnel in his bones. Reaper took advantage of this to get some distance while keeping his focus on Mirio.

Taking advantage of Reaper's distraction on Mirio, Lena quickly entered Reaper's guard taking him by surprise and managed to hit him in the abdomen.

Taking advantage of the thrusters on her boots, Lena managed to connect a quick and powerful blow to Reaper's forearm getting him to drop the sword which Lena kicked back so that it was out of Reaper's range.

"No swords honey!"

Reaper just a pained snort before throwing a powerful hook at Lena that sent her against the wall and managed to knock all the air out of her lungs.

"Stupid kids..." Reaper growled as he looked down at his forearm in pain before turning his gaze to Lena in annoyance.

He was about to launch himself at the girl but a fist from Mirio forced him back just in time.

"...This is why I hate children..." Reaper muttered as he dodged a series of Mirio's punches with ease.

"Tch" Mirio clicked his tongue as he looked at Reaper with irritation.

Mirio used his Quirk momentarily made his legs turning them intangible and partially sank to the ground as he threw a hard punch at Reaper's waist.

Reaper simply rose into the air, turning almost his entire body into a thick jet mist before materializing on the ceiling.

He quickly propelled himself with his legs while throwing a quick punch towards Mirio's half-sunken body. The latter simply sank completely to the ground avoiding Reaper's blow and appearing behind him with a big smile.

Lena watched the fight while taking deep breaths, one of her hands on her chest as if to confirm that she was breathing correctly. Taking advantage of the brief break she took a closer look at how grim the situation was.

Oddly enough it wasn't too bad.

'Their Quirks are too similar... however, Reaper has more combat experience than the two of us combined, it's only a matter of time until Mirio or I make a fatal mistake or exhaust ourselves' Lena thought as she took several breaths. 'A matter of time'

An idea formed in Lena's head at that moment causing her eyes to snap open. 

"Reaper is strong but still human..." Lena muttered to herself as she slowly stood up, from her body several lightning bolts of light blue began to form, her hair began to bristle and her eyes turned light blue. "You can't react at a speed that catches up with time itself..."

The air around the room immediately grew heavier.

Reaper quickly turned his head to see the Lena staring expressionlessly at him as light blue rays surrounded her like armor, the air around her swirled as if she was the center of a whirlwind and it seemed as if the world around her was slowly beginning to lose its colors.

'What the hell-'

And before he could even process what was happening...

A devastating series of blows ran over him like a truck sending him flying towards the end of the hallway in the middle of a T-intersection. His body screamed in pain as he felt his mask crumble and break in two.

Lena slowly turned to meet Reaper's gaze.

In the middle of the dark hallway, only his silhouette surrounded by lightning and his completely white eyes which were sending out small light blue flashes could be seen.

Reaper slowly stood up looking cautiously at Lena. 'Those blows were no joke... if my body wasn't genetically enhanced I could have broken most of my bones and died from internal bleeding... damn fool'

Reaper gritted his teeth. "...Why do I always get the most complicated confrontations?"

Mirio looked at Lena with wide eyes, from his perspective, Lena appeared in front of Reaper and slammed her entire body at storming speeds with thunderous force.

'What the hell?!' Mirio thought with a growing smile. 'So she had an ace up his sleeve!'

Meanwhile Lena...

'I forgot to save energy very quickly... I have to finish this quickly...' Lena thought as she focused on keeping her energy steady. 'At this rate... only 10 seconds left...'

The Heroes and the Mercenary stared at each other in total silence.

And unbeknownst to anyone else, another person had made an appearance in the room....
