5 U.A. Entrance Exam II

[Battle Center E]

Kurayami's disappearance wasn't very noticeable because he was behind the group so no one saw him leave quietly. The only ones who noticed his disappearance were the teachers in the observation room. Needless to say, they were quite surprised to see that Kurayami could use his quirk like that.

"What are you doing listeners!!! There is no countdown in real life battles!!! Gogogo!!" Present Mic yelled again seeing that some students were just standing there stupidly looking around expecting a countdown or something.

...

"And that's 30 points. Well, these robots aren't as strong as I thought. People with physical enchantment quirks can easily destroy them. Some people with specialized quirks might need a different approach though." Kurayami said nonchalantly as his shadow spread around the surrounding and transformed into several giant threads. They proceeds to pierce all the robots that approaching Kurayami easily.

"Hmmm, what is this...?" Kurayami paused and approached one of the destroyed robots and discovered something interesting.

"Oh? A switch off button? Well, what a surprise. Looks like they do give a chance for people who have quirks that are not suitable for direct combat." Kurayami curiously looks at a small yet eye-catching red button on the back of the robots' head with the word 'OFF' written on it.

(Note: I made it up🥸😂, mostly because it's sounds logic to me, ya know.)

Kurayami suddenly tilted his head to the left only to narrowly dodge an attack from the 2-point robot. He quickly jump away from the robot to create a distance between them.

"Hero detected. Kill." the 2-points robot immediately rushed again towards Kurayami.

"[Katana]." Kurayami said as a shadow katana rose from his shadow. He swiftly grabbed the handle of the katana and rushed towards the robot as well.

As the two met in the middle, the robot moved first by swinging its arms towards Kurayami. He dodged the incoming attack with ease and sliced the robot's arm. He didn't miss the opportunity and immediately launched a series of precise slashes on all the robot's limbs until it was unable to move. He ended the 'fight' with one clean cut, separating the robot's head from its body.

He looks at the destroyed robots surrounding him and thought 'I need opponents who can use sword so I can compare my skills... not some emotionless robots.'

"I also need a real katana, this technique is good but having a proper katana might be better." Kurayami grumbled as he looked at the shadow katana in his hand.

"Sigh... what a drag..." Kurayami sigh as he put back the katana inside his shadow. He glance at the other participants to see how they are doing.

"Oh they finally found out about the switch." He muttered as he looks at a girl who have a pair of wings as her quirk. He watches as she flew around the robot, avoiding its attacks and after a while, she managed to press the switch off, making the robot stopped moving.

Some participants with non-combat quirks also started using the same tactics as the girl because they also found out about the switch. As expected, it's not an easy task and it takes a lot of time and effort, some of them struggle with the robots because they've obviously never trained their bodies that much in their life.

"Time to get a little serious I guess... I have to give them a good show too." Kurayami said looking at the tower where the teacher was observing the participants.

"[Shadow Devil Mode: Canis]." he whispered as the shadows around him stirred and gathered around him forming a shadow cocoon. After a few seconds, the cocoon exploded creating a shadowy mist while also revealing his new transformation

Kurayami is now covered in clothes made of shadow that give him a dog-like appearance. A furry cape and mantle are draped over his shoulders, and the cape's high collar folds over the top of the mantle. A studded collar wraps around the his neck over the mantle and has a section of broken chain hanging from it. A pair of horns poke through a hat; the hat's brim is pointed at the front, has two sections on the side that fold up and resemble a dog's upright ears, and splits into three sections in the back. Elbow-length claw gloves on his arms. Similarly, his legs are covered by knee-high boots that have toes and claws and downturned collars.

Naturally, participants nearby him was shocked seeing his new transformation. As usual, he doesn't give a damn about their reaction and continued with his own thing.

"Fuuu.... [Shadow Pack]." he let out a sigh while using another technique. Four figures suddenly jumped out of his shadow before landing around him forming a square formation with him as the center.

[Shadow Pack] is a technique that allows him to create clones. They have a dog-like faces and a physique of a werewolf. Even though they're just a clones, their strength cannot be underestimate. The clones are strong enough to break stone with their strikes and kicks. The clones also can travel through shadows, even their opponent's, and ambush their opponent. Lastly, they will not disappear until he is defeated. Of course, there are limitations for this technique. The more clones he make, the weaker their strength and more clones mean more energy.

(Note: Some people might say "Can't the mc just create the clones normally without using the 'mode' and all. Same with all the other modes and all the extra abilities that modes has." Well, you can take your logic questions and kick them somewhere else in the multiverse. Unfortunately, this is a fanfic. The "mode+specific ability" thing that's going on here is just to make him look cool, that's all🥸. You logical thinking people can go to another fanfic or read something involving "logic" at other places.)

(Please don't mention about this kind of things in the future. Just pretend that he need to be in a certain mode to use a certain additional abilities xD.)

While the other participants were still gaping at Kurayami new attire and the additional clones, he calmly instructed his clones. "Destroy any robots you can find and protect anyone in dangers but don't interfere with their fights."

The clones nodded and went their separate ways after hearing his command. Kurayami didn't sit still either, he immediately rushed towards the 3-point robot near him and destroyed it in a matter of seconds before continuing his 'slaughter'.

'I don't need to show all my cards here, this is just an entrance exam. There is nothing special in this exam other than the top scorer has to give a speech at the Sports Festival. I will reveal all my cards slowly in the upcoming events. Well, maybe except for that 0-point robot though, I really want to try go full power on something for once.' Kurayami thought as he stabbed a 1-point robot with his claw before rushing towards the other.

[Observation Tower]

-Teachers P.O.V-

"In this practical exam, the examinees have not been informed about the number of the villains and their location. They have a limited amount of time in a vast area. They also have to draw the villains out from there." Principal Nezu started his explanation about the practical test.

"The ability to gather informations. Mobility. Being able to stay calm and collected in any situation. And lastly, pure combat ability. These basics abilities needed to keep the peace in the streets are turned into points in this test." he continued as he point out all the specific students.

"How about you add another point for 'versatility'…" someone added lazily as he brought up another screen showing Kurayami using his quirk to create katana, clones and also the mysterious transformation.

The other teachers seems agree with him and nodded their heads while looking at Kurayami's performance.

"Oh yeah, about this kid... Have you found anything about him, Principal Nezu?" the lazy guy, Eraserhead kept asking Nezu while watching Kurayami in his [Canis Mode], destroying all the robots in his way efficiently. Eraserhead's face seems bored but the glint in his eyes obviously shows that he's a bit interested in Kurayami's past.

"Well, I've done a background check on this student. He's clean, there's no record of him being a criminal or anything like that. In fact, he's one of the best student in his school. The teachers praise him saying that he's a good student with nice attitude and all. It's just that he prefers to be alone most of the time." Principal Nezu said as he read the file in his hand.

"A lone wolf. Hmm~ I already like him. What about his family?" Midnight nodded as she asked another question as she watched Kurayami on the screen, awed a bit by his looks and skills.

"He's an orphan who was adopted, but the elderly couple who adopted him also died a few years ago. But this student... his movements, the techniques he uses and the development of his quirk is very surprising..." Nezu replied as he analyzed how Kurayami fought and can't help but feel a bit suspicious about Kurayami.

"Well, everyone has their own secret, right? His record is clean and he came here to be a hero. Isn't that already great?" All Might said unconsciously as he watched Kurayami before focus back to his successor who's still running around in circles looking for points. 'You can do it, Young Midoriya!'

"Sigh... you do have a point. I guess we can keep an eye on him while he's in the school before making any further judgement." Nezu ponder a bit as what All Might said is also right. He decided to hold back his opinion on this matter and focus on the test first.

....

"Hmmm... oh two minutes left, that's mean..." Snipe said as he checked the timer on the screen.

After hearing that, Nezu's somber mood from the earlier discussion immediately faded, replaced by an excited expression.

"Well, what are we waiting for?! Let's begin their real test!" Nezu continued as he excitedly pushed a suspicious glowing red button with his cute little paw. He then threw his head back and laughed like a madman while holding his teacup causing the tea to spill everywhere.

Seeing their principal's excited expression, everyone in the room couldn't help but share the same thought.

'You sadistic bastard!!!'

-Kurayami P.O.V-

After getting about 60 points or something. He cancels the [Shadow Pack] and slows down his slaughter and finally ignores all the robots. He headed to the top of a building and sat on the edge of it, waiting for the 0 point robot to be released.

'If I'm not mistaken... the original first place, Bakugo got about 70+ points. I really don't want to give that speech for the Sports Festival. Let that guy handle the troublesome work.' he hummed as his feet dangled over the building.

He had also canceled [Canis Mode] to save his energy. Even though he has a lot of stamina, that doesn't mean he will waste it pointlessly.

While Kurayami was enjoying the wind and the view, a small earthquake suddenly occured causing the fake city to shake, several buildings collapsed in an area not far from him causing thick cloud of smoke and dust to rise. He immediately stood up and focused on the spot and saw a large robot dramatically emerge from the cloud of dust and smoke.

"Less than two minutes left!!!" Present Mic voice suddenly echoes throughout the fake cities once again.

"Well, these guys really aren't messing around. This 0-point robot is really huge." Kurayami said as he watched the giant robot as it stumbled through a narrow passage scaring the rest of the participants. Feeling powerless and intimidated, they immediately ran away with all their might when they saw the robot. A smile suddenly appeared on Kurayami face as he looked at the giant robot.

'I might as well go for it, this is a rare chance after all.' Kurayami jumped off the building and landed on the street with ease. He wasted no time and immediately rushed towards the 0-point while the others ran in the opposite direction of him.

"Oi oi what's wrong with that guy?!" a few participants couldn't help but exclaim after seeing Kurayami's action. They were surprised again by this guy, instead of running away from 0-point he rushed towards it.

After sensing that no one else is near the 0-point. Kurayami unhesitatingly unleash his quirk completely. His entire figure was wrapped in a shadowy aura and a pair of horns also appears on his forehead making him look mysterious and menacing. His shadow under his feet spread along the street as he ran towards the robot. The shadow then continued to spread until they covered the shadow of the robot as well as the most part of the street.

Everyone in the surrounding area and the teachers was shocked to see that his quirk was so strong already that it could spread so far and even cover the entire street in shadow. Street lamps, buildings and everything else in the narrow street were all covered in shadows creating an eerie vibes in the area. Everywhere they looked, it was nothing but shadows.

Looking at the intimidating 0-point robot in front of him, Kurayami without hesitation unleashed one of his techniques.

"[Shadow Domain: Abyss Devourer.]" he said softly. Although his voice was not very loud, everyone around could hear what he was saying. They couldn't help but feel the chills that ran down their spines when they saw a pair of giant eyes open and close a few times beneath Kurayami's feet. And what happened next made some of them even want to pee their pants or pass out immediately.

It's like watching a documentary from the pre-quirk era about sharks, where they talk about anything related to sharks. Their habitats, species, feeding habits and everything. In one of those countless documentaries, one of them must have shown a scene or two of how a shark stalks it's victim on the surface of the sea before opening it's mouth wide and devouring the victim from below leaving a trail of blood in the sea.

It was quite similar that but instead of a normal shark, what they saw now was an enormous head of a shadow shark emerging from the shadow of the robot. The shark then wasted no time opening it's mouth wide revealing the infinite darkness within before devouring half of the giant robot from under it's feet. The 0-point tried to fight back but it was no use as it was quickly dragged back into the shadows leaving several destroyed parts on the street covered by the shadows. The destroyed parts were also not given any mercy as they too slowly slipped into the shadows as well.

[Abyss Devourer] is basically a technique where he creates an area where his target will be captured and slowly dragged into the shadows. The shark was just Kurayami playing with his quirk, he could create any kind of situation in the shadows, but in the end the technique was still the same (grab and drag their target into the shadows). Weakness? Any enemy with super speed, flying and incredible brute strength.

[Shadow Domain] is just an auxiliary technique where Kurayami connects his own shadow with all the the shadows near him to form an area/domain so he can easily perform any kind of large scale techniques or to give him an edge against opponents in any specific areas.

(Note: I don't really have any creative ideas about his techniques, I'll copy paste from anime/manga/manhwa and whatever that comes out of my little head)

The other participants can only stare at the back of Kurayami dazedly as he devour the 0-point. They felt many kind of emotions right now mainly inferior, jealous and scared at the same time seeing that someone of their age have that kind of power.

"The test is over!!!" Present Mic shouted once again signaling the end of the practical test.

Hearing the Present Mic announcement, Kurayami slowly turned to face the other participants. The [Shadow Zone] also slowly lost its connection, all the shadows retreating back to Kurayami as he walked towards the exit. The shadowy aura around him and the horns on his forehead also slowly disappeared and merged with his shadow.

The other participants couldn't help but take a few steps back when they saw Kurayami glance at them. They immediately gave a way to Kurayami as he walked towards the exit.

When they saw that he was far enough away from them, they immediately took a deep breath and calmed down. They looked at each others and couldn't help but comment on Kurayami's feat just now.

"What a monster...." mob 1 said.

"I noticed him earlier in the test, that guy was very insane. His movements was very fast and precise. I wonder what kind of training he does..." mob 2 add.

"But that last part though.... my hands are still shaking now thinking about that endless darkness... damn, I sound so chuuni somehow when I say that..." said mob 3 while showing his shaking hands.

Well, the trip back to the U.A main building was very... unique. Why? Well, because Kurayami got all the back seats of the bus to himself. The bus is also very quiet for some reason. Other participants in the bus is trying their best to avoid any interaction with him. Kurayami doesn't mind at all, he likes this quiet atmosphere.

'Well, whatever' Kurayami thought as he looks at the scenery outside of the bus.

Damn... this chapter is a bit longer than the usual one I made... well maybe it's not that long to begin with but whatever.

Well everyone, here it is... the practical test part. Just as I thought, I'm not really good with this writing stuffs. I already promised you guys a chapter for every 3 or 4 days and I kinda failed miserably on that part.

Well, I don't really writing this fanfic for any serious purposes ya know, I'm writing this for fun. Hope y'all okay with the delays.
