25 Chapter 25: Busy days
The sun had set on the suburbs, leaving behind an opaque orange atmosphere in place of the previous blue sky. Izuku stared at the sky while walking at the suburbs padestrian as he couldn't help but to recall his experience back at the entrance exam.
After the practical exam's was over, Recovery girl manage to treat the wound's of several injured participants. Though it was a long process though to the sheer number of participants Recovery girl still manage to treat them all without much effort.
They were eventually rested at UA's clinic until the end of the UA entrance exam's in which the faculty teacher send them off. It was Izuku's first taste of rescuing people out of danger. Remembering there relieved face's and show of genuine gratitude towards him made him feel a certain sense of warmth within his heart.
' Is this how it feels to save lives? I-It feels increadible! '
Izuku thought as he couldn't help but to feel content of the good he did. Though he didn't save them directly he felt good that he still have some role to play for rescuing the participants.
The suburbs was long but it gave him plenty of time to manage his feelings and thought's on what happened today until he arrive at his apartment building. Izuku enter's the building and climb up towards his apartment door.
By the time Izuku's hands reach the door knob and turn's it around it didn't open. Indicating that Inko wasn't home.
" Click click! "
Catnap hearing the clicking sound of the locked door inside Izuku's bag woke up as he shake his head and search inside Izuku's to find the apartment keys. He manages to spot them as he use's his tail to open the bag and pops his head as he handed out the keys.
" Here "
" Huh? Oh Thanks "
Izuku grab's the keys out of Catnap's hand as he place it inside the door knob. The door slides open revealing a dim and silent apartment devoid of life until Izuku flick the light switch causing the apartment to be brought back to it's splendor.
Catnap and Dogday job off out of Izuku's bag as there soft plushie body landed on the ground.
" Woosh! "
" Thud! "
" Mmm! Finally home sweet home! "
Catnap shouted to himself out of relieve as he stretch his small plushie body before looking around, spotting the living rooms couch as Catnap walks towards it. Izuku put's his bag at a nearby table after grabbing his phone to check the time.
" 6:38 Mom should be back anytime soon "
" Hmmm so what should we do while she's away. I mean she'll probably back until seven right? "
" I guess let me check the kitchen to see what we'll get for dinner "
" Sure "
Catnap said with a tired tone from his voice once he got on the couch. To be fair Catnap has had a long day of using his tail to save countless of injured people at once. Sure he manage to lift them all but there sheer weight can be extremely difficult for his tails muscles to hold in any longer.
Izuku stared at the time on his phone one last time before he walk towards the kitchen seeing it's empty silence. Izuku check the kitchen from the fridge and the cupboard's seeing that there are a few ingredients and spices laying around.
Seeing that Inko won't be home until seven Izuku decided to cook dinner for them dinner. He folded his arm sleeves and grab's a frying pan and a pot as he starts taking out the necessary ingredients from the fridge. Dogday followed Izuku to the kitchen as he saw that Izuku is setting up the baking pan on the stove.
" Izuku what are you doing? "
" Oh Dogday. Well since mom will be coming home late I thought that I should prepare dinner for us at least "
" I see can I join? "
" Um sure but do you know how to cook? "
Dogday hesitated by Izuku's question as he doesn't know how to answer that. sure he does know how to cook he just doesn't know how to cook japanese cuisin.
But despite his lack of knowledge of Japanese food he does know how to cook the backbone and main side dish of all japanese dishes. Rice.
" Well I only know how to cook rice will that be enough? "
" Well yeah. The rice is on the bottom kitchen drawer next to some boxes. Make sure to add three full cups of rice for all us "
Izuku said while taking out a couple of eel filling's in the fridge and putting it on a large metal saucer on top of a faucet. As Izuku clean's the eel filling with water on the faucet Dogday on the other hand emmidiently transform's himself to his monster form in order to open the bottom drawer to check the large bag of rice before grabbing a pot.
Meanwhile Catnap enjoying the softness and leisure of the couch emmidiently heared the ruckus coming from the kitchen. He use's his tail to get up and lift himself a couple of feet away above the couch and towards the kitchen where he see Izuku and Dogday in his monster form preparing to cook.
" Um you guys cooking? "
" Yeah it wouldn't take long. Do you want to to join? "
" Nah I don't know how to cook so I'll probably in the way. I'll wait by the couch then bye~ "
" Catnap all of us is doing our part to cook dinner at least help us a bit like passing us ingredients and stuff with your tail "
" Ugh do I have to? Besides can you like do it yourself your way more taller than me you know? "
" Don't give me that look your way taller than me once you stand on two legs on your monster form now come on and help, you could pass us ingredients and stuff we need with your tail "
Dogday replied while he measures the amount of rice he puts on the pot. Catnap was about to refuse but as soon as he saw Izuku trying to reach a box of tinfoil at the very top of the kitchen cabinet as it was to far out of reach Catnap couldn't help but watch Izuku struggle as he couldn't hide his and move his tail towards the box.
He wrap's his tail around the box lifting it in the air before giving it to Izuku. Izuku hold's the box as he said to Catnap.
" Phew thanks "
" Eh Your welcome but could you not put any stuff at high places I mean you and Inko could barely even get them off the shelf "
" I see I'll try to remember then hehe. But Dogday's right you can't just laze around doing nothing we need to at least make dinner while mom isn't away. It's atleast we can do to not seem ungrateful "
Izuku said as he tries to convince Catnap to at least help them with the cooking. Catnap couldn't help but to sigh hard. He doesn't want to work for at least one minute but seeing that Izuku is picking Dogday's side of the argument Catnap couldn't help but to relunctantly agree as he stared at Izuku and said.
" Fine what do I do to help "
" Well um you can cut the onion's or the vegetable's since we'll be needing those for dressing "
Izuku said as he grabs a chopping bourd, a bowl, a knife and a few vegetable ingredients from the fridge and place them at the table. Catnap just accept's his work and jump off the table as his body unwrap's himself with his tail and cloth, landing on the ground already at his 6 ft tall four legged monster form.
Izuku showed him the ropes as Catnap relunctantly grab's the knife and sat on the ground as he lifted his upper body causing him to look a bit taller than he eventually is. Catnap begin's chopping down the vegetable's as he just does his work quietly filled with full frustration.
Dogday stared at Catnap's misery as he couldn't help but to genuinely smile at Catnap's suffering. Catnap notice his weird smile as he ask.
" What."
" Pfft nothing it's just that you really listen to him to anything he say's huh? "
" So? "
" So it kinda makes you look like his slave "
" Keep talking and I'll rip those legs again one by one until you scream and shout. "
" Alright alright! you don't have to go that far geez "
Dogday and Catnap biker while Izuku was left out of there conversation. Dogday and Catnap where always at a weird yet understanding dynamic though to there regain trust and friendship with each other but nonetheless they still bicker and disagree like all friendships do.
Eventually they all spend much time at the kitchen cooking and preparing for there up coming dinner.

( At the hospital )
" Thanks a lot Inko I'll be covering for your shift so be safe okay! "
A nurse said to Inko outside of the hospital. Inko tries her best to maintain her smile as she herself is increadibly exhuested at a day in the hospital.
" Uh sure thank's kumiko "
She said waving at the nurse before walking straight to the light covered city of mustufusa city. She couldn't hide her tired expression as it's been another long day at the hospital. Dealing with injured patients as well as lending them her hand each and every time.
But despite being tired from work she didn't let herself rest as she tries to think of what food will she cook for her son and her quirk. The night covered mustufusa city as each building, stores and mall's lighted the way of any civilian's on there destination that went pass by mustufa.
Inko didn't hesitate to call a cab as she got in and drove towards there apartment building. Each sight's of the city was shown on Inko out the window as she leaves the beautiful city of light's and arrive at the suburbs.
She got off from her cab, pay's the driver and enter's the apartment building. Inko's head were occupied with options of possible meals she can cook as she walk towards her apartment door and enter's only to be greated with a full set of
Meals on her living room table.
Izuku, Catnap and Dogday noticed her as they greeted her with welcoming smile as Izuku said.
" Oh welcome home mom "
" I-Izuku-kun what's all this? "
" Yeah well since you were gone he thought of cooking for dinner. Since your now much more busier and late to come than usual "
Catnap butted in as he give Izuku the credit for cooking dinner for them. Inko look at there meals as it looks well cook before looking at her son with a hint of pride on her face.
How can she no mother wouldn't be proud to there son for cooking dinner for them while there at work. All her worry for the meal she was suppose to cook for dinner was gone replaced by the relief that she wouldn't need to work at home.
She was almost got by tear's but she tries to hold herself so that she wouldn't make a scene.
' Sniff son I'm so proud! '
" Um mom a-are you okay? "
" H-huh Y-yes! You boys continue without me I'll join you later sniff "
She said as she couldn't hold her tear's of how proud and thankfull her son is with her consideration. Now she wouldn't have to worry about preparing there food.
The three waited for her, as Inko manage to get change in less than a couple of minutes and sit besides them. The two mother and son prayed and gave thanks for the food before digging in.
Catnap and Dogday were still unable to get used to there culture of giving thanks for there food but none the less still join them out of gratitude.
Inko took a bowl of rice and reach out to a piece of cooked sauced eel meat as she put it on her bowl of rice and enjoyed herself. Both Dogday and Catnap emmidiently transform's to there monster form to eat as there fingers where unable to hold the fork.
Both Izuku and Inko were unfazed by there monster form's as there used to seeing them like this whenever they eat as they just enjoy there meal.
The night was filled with a vibrant atmosphere at there table as this unusual family still retain it's cozy yet warmth atmosphere. Contrasting Catnap and Dogday's creepy appearance.

( Two days passed )
" Knock knock! "
" Izuku-kun! "
Inko said as she knock her son's room. Izuku opened his door confused until he notice a letter on her hands.
" Someone mail this infront of our door and said that this letter is for you "
" For me? Wait! "
Izuku emmidiently understand what the letter was as he look at the letter with great inticipation in his eyes. Inko seeing her son excited for a letter can already guess that it's probably a letter from UA. She didn't have give a second thought and gave the letter to Izuku before leaving.
Izuku close his door as he examine the letter. The letter has the logo of UA at the left bottom side as seeing it's logo made Izuku hesitate.
' This is it. The letter from UA '
Izuku tries to calm himself by taking several breathes as Catnap and Dogday noticed the later from Izuku's hand. He took some time to appreciate the design of the letter before opening it.
Soon a small white rodent standing in two legs wearing a suit and a huge scar on his right eye appeared infront of Izuku causing him to drop the letter out of surprise.
Catnap and Dogday were about to move toward's Izuku until the rodent started to open it's mouth.
" Don't threat this is a hologram. I'm recording this yesterday at my office so you don't have to worry Midoria Izuku "
The rodent said trying his best not to seem alarming. Catnap and Dogday looked at the rodent with vigilant eyes before they jump out of Izuku's desk and walked near Izuku. Surrounding him as they refuse to move away from Izuku's pressence.
The rodent clear his throat as he look at Izuku with it's large dot eyes and said.
" My name is Nezu the principle of U.A. and I'm here to congratulate you Midoria Izuku for being accepted into U.A "
" W-wait really!? "
Izuku's voice were frantic as he looks at the hologram with full wide eye excitement. The hologram obviously couldn't respond just said to him.
" Yes but I'm not here making this message to you just to inform you that you got accepted but also to congratulate you for being rank first at the entrance exam "
Izuku's eyes widen in shock as he couldn't comprehend what Nezu just said. Nezu emmidiently dissapeared infront of him and then show's a green colored screen showing Izuku the ranking.

His name was on the very top of the list as he couldn't help but to be beyond amazed. Nezu cut his amazement stare as his voice achoes through the letter and said.
" You might be confused to see additional points on the screen but these specific points gave you the chance to be at the top. Midoria me and the other faculty teachers were surprise to see that you manage to save countless of injured participants in a short period of time. Dragging them to safety without causing further injury or distress. That's why I made this specific letter to you to give you encouragement to further boost your potential. I hope you manage to go through my rant and we hope to further see your development in the future "
The voice finished as the green colored screen dissapeared out of Izuku's sight. Izuku stared at the letter in silence as he couldn't help but to burst in happiness. Tear's began to fall from his eyes as his overwhelming happiness takes over his emotion.
" Sniff I did it I made it to UA! "
" I-Izuke? "
" Huh Y-yeah s-sorry Dogday I overacted but I got to show this to mom!? "
He said as he took Catnap and Dogday's hand as well as his acceptance letter and walk out of his room. Wanting to tell his mother that he got accepted to UA.
