Chapter 19: FBI

After changing into new clothes, Araki came back and faced the panting Bakugo. It didn't make it better that Araki smiled at him cheekily as if teasing him and taking a stance. The hothead didn't take it happily as he blast again and aiming to blast an explosion mid-air.

It was however halted when he realize that he can't use his quirk. The students realize this too as they all unanimously look at the entrance and saw Aizawa leaning on the door frame with his own quirk on.

"Is this your definition of sparring for training? If it is… then tone it down. You'd give the maintenance workers additional work." After saying it, he immediately left.

Everyone then returns their looks to the two people fighting. Luckily, Bakugo managed to land successfully. He looks at Araki with dead-shot eyes before putting his hands in his pockets and walking away.

"I don't need you to train. You better wish that you won't face me at the sports festival. By that time, I'll wipe that smile off of your face. Also, I didn't lose, fucker." Bakugo said before taking entering the resting room.

After the silence, Araki looks at Denki before mocking him by signaling him to come at him before taking a defensive stance. Minutes later, Bakugo left the gymnasium and the real training continued as they originally planned.

Araki even guided some of them when he thought that their training was ineffective, especially Denki. Out of curiosity Hagakure asked him what his quirk is and how he trains.

"Well, the gist is, my quirk can enhance my body. For example, my durability, or strength, or my healing capabilities." As he said this, Izuku decides to write it all down.

Araki just ignores it and continues to talk to them. "Because my quirk isn't that powerful, I decided to learn how most quirk works thus improving my abilities. I can only do the best I can to get what I want."

Hours later, everyone finished training. The four students went home together again. On their way out, Izuku stops Araki. While catching a bit of his breath, the four look at him.

"Uhm… Araki. You said earlier that you know quirks very well and you know how they work." Araki just smiles at him politely before saying yes.

"Do you mind if I ask you some questions about quirks in your spare time? Like in LINE? Also… do you have a manuscript on what you studied?"

There was a minute of silence before Araki answered.

"Yes, of course! I'm free anytime. I have every time in the world. However, I do not have written documents. I can send you some links though. You good with that?"

"Uhm… Yes! Thank you so much!" Izuku thanked him as he run back towards Iida and Uraraka who arrived while they were talking. The two groups separates as Araki's group decided to have an afternoon snack.

The school day ended. Some just finished their work, training, and whatever they're doing. Nezu and the other hero class teachers are sitting around the table as they read some files. Around them, Naomasa and his subordinates are also watching the meeting.

"That's what the police department gave us," Nezu said as he put the folder down.

"First, they attacked the gates. Then, they infiltrate the U.S.J. Now, you're saying that the criminal that can unleash a monster like that escaped? How do they even know where he is!?" Vlad angrily said. He still remembers how the beaked-bird-like monster destroyed him physically.

"He didn't escape. He was rescued by another person. Clearly, the possibility of the said mentor just rose, Mr. Vlad." Naomasa calmly said.

After discussing the event, one of Nezu's assistants knocks and enters the room. "Principal, the FBI officers are here." Hearing that, everyone's ears perked up. Nezu just excuses everyone before leaving the room with Naomasa.

This, in turn, intrigue's his subordinates and Toshinori's attention.

-In another room-

"Good Evening, Principal Nezu. I am Special Agent Ronald Mayhew and along with me is Assistant Special Agent Vhon Torman. With the request that we have formally sent you, I hope we can have a mutual agreement." The officer said in English as he points to the man beside him with his hand.

Roland is a 6 foot 4 inches white bulky man in the usual FBI uniform. Along with him is a 6-foot man with a hint of Latino heritage. He bows to Nezu before sitting back down. Nezu just looks at the two while smiling before answering.

"Initially, I don't want to allow such an 'interview' to one of our students because of a criminal world's Urban Legend for many reasons. One, it can be devastating to my student's resumes. A mysterious, unknown 'interview' with the FBI won't roll off well on the tongue of hero agencies if known.

Second, he may have passed the age of consent in Japanese Law, but he is still a minor in your Laws. Third, it can affect the student's mental health and condition. As you may know, an important event is about to be held in a few days. I wouldn't want an opportunity for my student to shine, to just be wasted."

The two agents just listen as Nezu continues his words.

"However, if you can accept my condition… Conditions, rather, then I can grant your request." Ronald nods as he hears this.

"We will be glad to hear it."

"First, the location of the questioning is going to be U.A. Second, a copy of the manuscript of questions will be provided to me and Detective Naomasa as he is the agent assigned to supervise U.A.-related issues that needed the police's approval. Third, get the student's and their guardian's approval. Last but not the least, I would hold the original copy of the whole recording. The one and only copy."

As Ronald hears this, his eyebrows knit tighter and tighter. In the end, the response he can give is…

"I will convey your request to the superiors."

The meeting ended as the two agents left the room. As Naomasa stand by Nezu's side, he decided to ask him.

"I know what you want to do, Principal. However, isn't asking that man for approval the same as impossible?"

Nezu just smiles as he left his chair. "Not really, as long as they can offer that man something that he deems to be worth more, then they can get it. And they can't do anything but do it because that old man of a cow used to hold power that can make governments worry. Also, they need big info on this case."

As they walk back to the conference room earlier, Nezu asks Naomasa.

"Have any new cases?" The latter just scratches his head before answering.

"There is. An alleged sexual offender was killed in an alley. The witness was, of course, the woman with an unknown suspect. Since we can't catch a dead offender, we need to find a living murderer."

"Let's have a drink later, with Toshinori." Hearing this, Naomasa decided to agree, and the two finishes the meeting.
