Chapter 15: Wabbit Hunting

Katsuki was then promptly given to Rumi for a beating.

"Ora! Ora! Keep your hands up blondy!" Katsuki met someone who is similar to her and she couldn't put up a proper fight.

Breaking her ego that was so up her ass due to everyone praising her.

Though she really is. Her quirk is a perfect combination of Mitsuki's and her father's called acid sweat.

She's smart, athletic, and genetically gifted to boot. Katsuki is a specimen for sure. But it did get to her head.

The doorbell then rung, but they were surprised that the door was broken. Courtesy of Katsuki.

"Ummm, hello~" A girl called out and Alex went up to them.

"Hi, I'm the owner of the house. You guys the construction team? You're awfully young." Alex looked at the brunette with a round face and a blush on her face.

"Ummm. I'm the daughter of the owners of the company. Will that be a problem? I use my quirk to cut costs." She just admitted to a crime of quirk use without a license.

"Hmmm? What's your quirk?" Alex asked curiously as he wanted to see more powers.

"It's called zero gravity sir. Everything I touch with all my finger pads would experience zero gravity." She explained.

"Interesting, where's your parents then?" He looked around and a car just parked.

"Hello, we're the Uraraka construction company! Thank you for hiring us!" A couple appeared.

"Umu, right on time. Though you might want to warn your daughter that using quirks without a license in public will get her arrested." Alex advised.

"T-thank you for reminding us sir." The couple bowed.

"Ochaco! Why did you tell him that?" Her father was miffed.

"S-sorry!" She apologized. "It's fine in my property though, I would do it too if I could." Alex shrugged.

"Thank you sir!" The couple were seriously thankful.

"I hired a local company, they said they specialized in speed. And we don't have much time." David explained his choice.

"So now we know why. Hey, Uraraka couple. Want to accept another offer?" Alex asked them.

"W-what is it sir?" They got nervous as he seemed really rich and powerful. And their minds were making mental gymnastics.

"Give me your daughter." Alex nodded sagely and he got hit by Allmight.

"Sorry about that, he didn't mean that. Take it back!" Yagi shouted at his ear quietly.

"Give me your daughter and I'll train her to use her quirk to its maximum potential." Alex glared at Allmight.

He just hasn't completed his sentence yet. The couple then sighed in relief.

"B-but we don't have anything to pay you sir... Allmight's fee must be extreme." They winced.

"I said I will train her, not him. And he sucks at it anyway. Don't worry about the money. Hey, Ochaco, right? What do you wanna be?" He forgot to ask if she wanted to be a hero.

"I... I want to get in UA and graduate there." Ochaco answered.

"So a hero?" Alex nodded and he looked at the couple.

Her quirk is actually extremely overpowered. He could already think of the ways you could kill someone with it.

Ochaco didn't have the heart to tell him that she wants to be a hero to earn a lot of money. As they are poor.

It is actually the reason why the Uraraka couple really wants to please him. As the contract for the lab is extremely expensive.

And David told them he wants it to be done quick. So Alex has to pay a premium.

"Alright, Ochaco. Go and help them first to gather the materials. Then you'll train here to be a capture and rescue specialist." Alex gestured for her to go.

"Zero gravity huh? That is kinda overpowered. Only the hardest hitters can do anything about it if they get affected by her quirk." David saw its potential as well.

"Yeah, that's why I want to put her in our group. Katsuki and Kirishima will be the combat specialists, Momo as the best support, Mina as mid-range, and Izumi as long-range." Alex could already see their formations.

But they're all going to be combat specialists first. They need to be able to protect themselves. Then branch in to their niche.

Ochaco will be the crowd control specialist. That would be her main classification. Being a rescue hero is second.

And him? He will be the cheater of course. If you play fair, you're not playing the game.

"Izumi, Momo, come here. We'll start planning how we'll make your little project." David called them.

Melissa walked up to Alex as he looked at the three.

"You think they'll be able to do it?" Melissa was kind of doubtful.

It has been centuries since the theory of cold fusion was made. And there have been no advancements to it.

"Izumi has too. It's her dream to do so. No matter how many people doubt you, you must soldier on." Alex nodded sagely.

Nobody believed him when he wanted to gain magic. But he did, though it was a bit of an outlier.

"Right..." Melissa felt a little bad that she doubted them.

"What about you, Melissa? What's your dream?" Alex asked her and she blinked.

"My dream huh? I'm quirkless. And I want to be someone that people remember just like uncle Might. A hero that gives hope." Melissa smiled wryly.

"You're doubting yourself." Alex looked at her and she went wide eyed.

"I mean... Quirkless people can't achieve that, right?" She was too naive.

"Well, quirkless people paved the way for modern civilization. And remember this Melissa. Quirkless people are still very dangerous." He looked at her seriously.

"Huh, how can a quirkless person beat someone with one?" Melissa raised a brow.

"You see how I beat Kirishima. With a knife, I could've stabbed his soft eye and kill him in an instant by stabbing through his brain. And you think Katsuki can survive a shotgun slug to her chest? Not to mention bombs and nuclear weapons." Alex listed them down.

And Melissa went quiet. She remembered where she came from. America is a lot worse than Japan about quirkless people.

And the land of the free has the 2nd amendment. Imagine what will happen. People like Izumi smokes other people when they snap.

Quirks that aren't top tier can't stop bullets. Laws banning quirk use without a license kept people in being proficient with it too.

What can an average joe like David who can make his fingers move really quickly do against artillery?

"Wow... I haven't thought of that." Melissa was shocked.

"Another war because of discrimination might herald the end of the world due to nuclear winter. The 3rd one had millions of quirk bearer casualties." Alex shrugged.

"Then... I hope it will never come to that. I want to be an advocate of quirkless people. That we are amazing even though we don't have powers." Melissa nodded with a determined face.

"Good, that's more like it. You shouldn't think of quirkless people as lesser. Metahumans with quirks aren't higher subspecies." Alex smiled at her.

"Thanks for making me see that." Melissa beamed at him. And she ran towards her father to help them. After all, she isn't his daughter for nothing.

"Dad! Let me stay here in Japan! I want to help them complete it even if you return to I-island!" Melissa requested.

"My baby girl is growing up..." David smiled softly at her words.

"I'll shelter her here, don't worry." Alex nodded at him and David nodded. His place is probably the safest in Japan.

With Allmight and Rumi visiting there almost every day.

Not to mention that Alex's quirk was stupidly overpowered and versatile. Or that was what David thought.

As they already checked the hardness of his rathian shell. It was bullet-proof. Only 30mm high caliber rounds that had tungsten penetrators can go through it.

And that was just a middle-class large monster.

*Affection +400 with Melissa Shield for supporting her dream. Relationship status turned into the cool friend.*

"So what are we going to do about fuel though?" David asked Alex and he pointed at Momo.

"I've already studied the isotopes of hydrogen needed. I can make them once the lab is set-up." Momo shrugged.

"I forgot about that." David snorted at himself.

"Isn't she the best? She can create any material we need." Alex ruffled her hair and Momo blushed in embarrassment.

"I'm not that amazing... I just memorize things is all." Momo twiddled her thumbs.

"You are amazing, Momo. You'll be a big help. We can buy nuclear fuel, but it will be a pain in the ass." Alex reassured her.

"Yeah, not to mention that almost no-one is gathering it. With quirks being the dominating energy producers in the world." David explained.

It was the reason why the world isn't wrecked by flooding and super typhoons due to global warming.

Majority of the energy producing quirk users that don't become heroes power-up the world.

It was a world-wide effort after the 3rd world war. And it was one of the things that humanity can be proud of.

"T-thanks." Momo smiled cutely. As she thought that she isn't that special, which is bullshit.

*+100 affection with Momo for making her more confident about herself.*

"According to the research papers I've read, Palladium is the catalyst for this as it absorbs deuterium and tritium more easily." Izumi took out tons of papers.

"It seems you're prepared for this." David smiled at her.

"We'll start with the ionization of palladium through an electric arc. Then, in theory. The gamma rays coupled with particle collisions in the reactor will generate current." Momo sighed.

If it was as easy as how she said it. "Let's do it team!" Melissa cheered and they began their calculations.

"I guess I'll let the nerds do their thing." Alex smiled at them.

"Yeah, and you'll be coming with me." Rumi grabbed him and he deadpanned at her.

She ran towards downtown Mustafu. "Ohh? You even wore your casual clothes?" Alex raised a brow.

"Too many people will notice me, I'm the number 5 hero." Rumi snorted.

She then started grumbling about the stupid paparazzi and press.

They arrived at a bar and Alex sighed. "You do know that I can't drink yet."

"Like I give a fuck, come on." Rumi entered the bar and they took a seat.

"I'll take a dry martini with a lemon peel. Oh make that with frozen gin, not vodka." Alex ordered and Rumi blinked at him.

She thought she would have to buy for him because he won't know the hell to get.

"You sounded like a regular..." She raised a brow at him.

"Call me Bond, James Bond. But actually, no. That guy orders a vesper." Alex grumbled.

"Ohh, stirred too not shaken thank you." Alex called and the bartender nodded at him.

'This guy knows his stuff.' The bartender busted out the good gin and vermouth.

"I'll have a whiskey high ball." Rumi ordered and she looked at Alex, waiting for their drinks.

"Nice stirring by the way, chilled glass too. Just the way I like it." Alex nodded at the bartender and he nodded too.

'Let's see if this punk can drink a 45% alcohol cocktail.' Rumi had an evil grin on her face.

But Alex just drank it normally and he didn't hiss at the strong drink.

"You sure you don't drink?" Rumi squinted her eyes.

"I don't, I was about to order some juice. But knowing you, you'd want to see me gag. But I won't give you that satisfaction." He had a smirk on his face.

"Cheeky brat." Rumi grinned at him.

*+200 affection with Rumi for not being a pussy.*

"Why'd you want to be a hero, Rumi?" Alex asked her and she looked a bit hesitant in telling him.

"You promise you won't look at me differently?" Rumi asked seriously.

"I won't, after all. I want to be a hero to use my quirk." Alex shrugged and she blinked dumbly at his words.

"Then... It's because I can't get enough of fighting. People used to laugh at my quirk for being weak. Then I fucking socked their teeth in." Rumi grinned.

"I showed them that a rabbit isn't just prey. And I even almost got into juvie for beating people half-dead for trying to bully me." Rumi laughed.

"So you want to fight strong individuals?" Alex nodded at her.

"Basically, you're an adrenaline junky?" Alex deadpanned at her.

"Haha! I even fought in an underground fighting ring! Helped Allmight to catch at least a 100 villains." Rumi reminisced it.

"Hmm, then I'll be sure to kick your ass a lot." Alex shrugged.
