17 Blast (Part 4)

------

Prelude to War

------

I was a Villain.

It was a fact that I couldn't refute. I mean, even an idiot could tell that I'm the Villain.

A cold-blooded mercenary who works for an uprising gang.

He died, for some unknown reasons that I couldn't remember, meets God, and gets tossed in some fucked up world.

Like it was the work of fate, the God in question decided to transmigrate the poor bloke in the body of a delinquent.

Simple right?

Now, here's how the story derails.

The delinquent he reincarnated into, aspires to be a hero. Not an ordinary hero, but THE number 1 hero. Naturally, that delinquent has the will and drive to see it through, he was just twisted in the personality department.

But all in all, he was a good kid with a superiority complex.

As for the poor mercenary, he was a lifeless son of a bitch. A guy that would literally kill anyone in the cruelest way possible, as long as he was paid.

Of course, like any other Villain, the mercenary had a heartbreaking past.

Sold by his parents to pay for their debts, the young mercenary became a child soldier.

A slave for short.

His 'employer' or what the man who adopted him wanted him to call him, orders the poor slave.

Kill someone.

Bang!

Burn someone.

Bang!

Torture someone.

Bang!

His method was simple; A bullet in the target, then do whatever he was told next.

Shoot them, then interrogate them.

Shoot them, then burn them.

Shoot them, then kill them.

Like a cold machine, he was brainwashed to follow orders. But as he grew, he learns the feeling of compassion.

His brothers and sisters 'aka' the children who were also bought by his employer.

Like a normal family, they communicated, bonded, and ate together. The only time they turn off their 'humanity' switch was when they go on 'Field Trips'.

Field trips or what their employer likes to call, Family Bonding Time.

Basically, kill everyone and everything in sight. Steal everything and every shit they could carry, and return to their home and give their employer the shit they brought.

Nice and simple. Like a group of dogs, they eat whatever they are fed, and do whatever they are told.

Sometimes they go to battlefields to be living bombs.

Sometimes they go to terrorists to be living weapons.

They were disposables.

A group of children who doesn't know death.

Life and death were just strange illusions for them.

They were born to die and killed to live.

The young mercenary was the oldest of the group. It wasn't that he was the first to be adopted, it was just that, he was the only one who survives.

Whether it be a suicide mission or an infiltration, he always returned to where he belongs.

His family(?).

His home(?).

He was a tenacious cockroach that refuses to die.

He was a delusional little boy who thought that what he has now was the only thing he will ever have.

As long as he follows orders, he can stay in his little imaginary home, with his little imaginary family.

But of course, like every other dream, one was bound to wake up sooner than later.

At the age of 8, he was sold to the deadliest criminal known worldwide.

A lady who goes by the moniker:

'Assassin'

A simple alias for a simple person.

Just like him, the Assassin lady does whatever she was paid. Whoever the person, as long as there is money on the table, a living soul will be reaped.

She was known as the Queen of Assassins in the underworld, and simply Assassin on the surface.

After living together, the young mercenary gradually became 'Human'.

Although he was treated as a source of amusement, he eventually came to terms with the lady.

She was just horny.

"Lonely."

Yes, she was just lonely.

She wanted someone to care for her. She wanted somebody to talk to her. She wanted to be a normal 'Human' too.

They lived together in harmony. But then, the fire nation attacked. The boy fell into madness and then he destroyed the world.

After he reincarnated, his madness followed him.

Now, he questions:

Should I become the number 1 hero and save the world in exchange for being a slave to society, just like in my past life?

Or...

Should I break my restraints and burn the whole world on the ground. A... slave becomes the master moment. Forming my own ragtag group, I will set on a path of carnage that would turn the world upside down.

In the end, he couldn't make a choice and killed himself.

"The end. Well, did you like it? Did you cry? Tell me, little birdie, what are your thoughts on the story?"

After finishing on the story I just made up on the spot, I asked my company what her opinions are on the story.

"Well... It was very... Uhm... Inspiring?" She said, tilting her head cutely as if she wasn't sure of her answer.

"...You didn't listen at all, did you?" I deadpanned.

"Ueh!?" I grabbed her shoulders tightly, looming over her face, I furrowed my brows. "Wh-What are you doing, Bakugo-kun?!"

"You know... for some reason, I have this strange urge to bully you."

"Eh, why would you want to bully me? I-I didn't do anything bad to you!"

I closed my eyes and nodded my head.

"Indeed, you even accompanied me to the nurse's office after my fight. But, you didn't listen to my story, so you hurt my feelings."

"B-But I didn't know what you were talking about..." she whimpered.

"I know. Even I didn't know what I was talking about. Maybe I did it on purpose to have a reason to bully you, but even so... my feelings are hurt."

She looked at me with a tearful expression before finally conceding. "Then... what do you want me to do...."

"Tell me all about your Quirk," I replied instantly.

Even though I am happy that she accompanied me to Recovery Girl's office, I am very curious about her Quirk. That's why this is the only solution I could come up with to grill her for answers.

"U-Uhm... Okay." She nodded obediently. I wasn't expecting her to be so compliant, is it because I am so handsome?

"Kachan, why do you wanna know Uraraka-san's Quirk?"

Huh? Turning my head, I saw Deku peeking behind the curtains. I just stared at him, making him sweat uncomfortably before speaking.

"Shut the fuck up. Just because I allowed you to be here, doesn't mean I allow you to speak to me. Deku."

Emphasizing the word Deku, I glared at him. "Get back in your area before I break your legs..."

"E-Eh? B-Break... W-Why would you break my legs... Kachan..."

"Hah? So you want me to break your legs?"

What the fuck am I saying?

"Eep!" Deku hurriedly hid behind the curtains. While I sat there contemplating what the fuck just happened.

For some reason, I became more aggressive whenever I'm talking to him. Maybe Bakugo had some unresolved grudge? Should I kill Deku?

Even though his personality isn't affecting me, his emotions are. I should probably sort out myself before I accidentally kill someone.

"So, as I was saying, care to tell me more about your Quirk? Little birb-chan~."

"Good evening my guests, would you like coffee or tea?" The Counselor's words flowed like honey. As if an amiable gentleman replaced his usual know-it-all behavior, The Counselor greeted them with a bright smile.

"Coffee..." A rather grating voice replied. The Counselor thought that the owner of the voice was the type to swallow his snot than spit it out.

"Haha! Right away dear customer! Please, take your seats." He laughed energetically before going behind the curtains.

His guests looked around for a while before taking their seats.

One of the members, a girl with blonde hair cheerfully asked. "So, who was that guy? He looked pretty handsome~." She blushed and smiled creepily before adding, "I think red would look good on him~."

"We're not here to play Toga-chan~!/Let's trash this place, Toga-chan!" A man with a black and gray bodysuit contradicted himself.

"Hey, could you guys shut up? I can't hear the guy making coffee." A man with a burnt scar mentioned.

Hearing his words, they all turned around and saw The Counselor staring at them with a straight gaze and a lopsided smile. As if he was troubled whether to act amicably or just kick them out.

"Where is the coffee?" The same grating voice said. The owner of the voice had a severed hand covering his face.

"Sorry, I'm too lazy to brew, but I have canned coffee!" The Counselor presented the tray in his hands. Canned coffees drenched with cold water were placed on it. "You wouldn't mind, right Mr. Tomura Shigaraki?"

Tomura Shigaraki, the man who had a severed hand on his face, nodded calmly. He grabbed the black canned coffee before drinking it slowly.

The Counselor stared at Tomura, feeling a little lost. 'For a supervillain, this guy sure is stupid. If I poisoned that drink, wouldn't he drop dead?' Although his thoughts were a little strange, a happy smile was etched on his face as he handed the canned coffee to his other guests.

"So, what can I do for you, dear customers?" The dark-eyed devil asked with a cheerful tone. He sat on his chair slowly before grasping his cane on his left hand.

"Counselor. The man rumored to be the greatest mastermind in the underworld." A man with a punchable face spoke. He stood up from his seat before bowing graciously before The Counselor. "It is a pleasure to meet you."

"Oh? Well, if it isn't Giran!" The Counselor happily exclaimed. "Some of my customers always mentioned you in high light, say can you tell me what business you have here?" The Counselor's eyes narrowed as he asked the question.

Cold sweat dripped from Giran's back. He loosened his tie briefly before continuing. "Haha, I am flattered, Counselor. The truth is, I was actually hired by these friends here to have a meeting with you. I personally came here to offer you my respects."

"Hm." The Counselor hummed mysteriously. He eyed the League of Villains one by one before speaking in a cold voice. "Well, you should be. If you didn't come here yourself, then you might've gone out of business too soon." The Counselor tilted his head. "Don't you think?"

"Haha..." Giran could only laugh nervously before sitting back down. 'Damn. I thought he would be intimidated, instead, we got put on a spot ...' Giran thought that was things would go smoothly, but he didn't expect The Counselor to be so fearless. Even in front of the whole League, he could still threaten him without batting an eye.

"Counselor... I've heard about you." Tomura Shigaraki stared at The Counselor while scratching his neck. "I heard you are the smartest Villain?"

"That's an overstatement. I'm just a guy who Counsels lost individuals."

"I see... so you have a problem with us?" Tomura asked, irritation was laced in his voice. "You've refused our invitation multiple times. Now you've forced me to meet you myself."

"Is that my problem?" The Counselor's lips twitched. "Why should I join you? I have nothing to gain by working under you."

"Oh, oh!" The blonde-haired girl raised her hand. "We have money!"

"Oh please. You live in a mountain in an abandoned shack." The Counselor casually shut her down.

The other League members finally glanced at The Counselor. They were uninterested when they came inside, knowing that it would be some boring talk, but now their attention was grasped.

"... How do you know our base?" Tomura asked, his voice emotionless.

"I know everything." The Counselor replied with a mad tone. He picked up his cane and pointed it at the blonde girl.

"Himiko Toga. Alias: Creepy Demon Child. Quirk: Transform. Can shapeshift into the appearance of a person's blood she ingested. Weakness: Has severe blood addiction."

Himiko flinched. The Counselor then pointed at the man with a black and gray bodysuit.

"Jin Bubaigawara. Alias: Twice. Quirk: Double. Can create clones of people or objects via physical contact, but the clones are weaker than the original. Weakness: Has a Dissociative Identity Disorder."

While the League of Villains was shocked, The Counselor continued.

"Atsuhiro Sako. Alias: Mr. Compress. Quirk: Compress. Can shrink down people or objects into a small marble. Weakness: Lack of battle experience."

"Shuichi Iguchi. Alias: Spinner. Quirk: Gecko. Can cling to walls and sheer surfaces like a reptile. Weakness: You're a fucking lizard."

"Hey! What do you mean Lizard!!" Spinner angrily shouted. He smashed his massive sword at The Counselor.

Bang!

A single gunshot resounded in the closed space. Spinner's massive sword was shattered to pieces. The Counselor stood calmly, holding his smoking cane.

"May I continue?" He asked.

"Fuck!" Spinner cursed while holding his numbed hand. "If only I brought my makeshift sword...!"

"Enough," Tomura interjected. "So, if I give you something you want, you'll join us?" He asked, his eyes staring at The Counselor's deep black pupils.

The Counselor raised an eyebrow before speaking. "Quirk. Give me a powerful Quirk."

"Why? You already have one don't you?" Tomura gazed at The Counselor's cane.

"My Quirk might look strong, but it's actually weak. I need a Quirk that could strengthen it."

"You want a strength enhancement Quirk?" Tomura asked with a strange smile. "Fine. But you'll have to work under me."

The Counselor also smiled. "Sure~. But I'll leave if you're not up to my standards." The Counselor got up from his seat before going to the hidden compartment. Opening it, he showed something to Tomura.

"What is this...?"

"I already predicted you would meet me. It's a solution for your problem."

"My problem?" Opening the folder, Tomura read it silently.

"You guys are broke right~?" The Counselor teased as he twirled the cane in his hand. "I hear the Yakuza's hiring."

"Haha..." A delighted smile appeared on The League of Villains leader. "Hah... Ahahahahaha!!!" He broke into a burst of mad laughter as he clutched the folder in his hand.

"You want me to take over the Yakuza?" Tomura Shigaraki asked after calming himself.

"Why? You can't do it?" The Counselor asked while lighting a cigarette.

"Hahaha... haaah... You're a pretty interesting guy. Counselor." Tomura Shigaraki complimented. The folder in his hand crumbled to dust. "What's your plan?"

And thus started the cooperation between the crazy group of misfits and the mad mastermind.
