28 I Am Zero

Would you guys believe me if I said I wasn't doing it on purpose?

Sigh, I just can't write without songs and lately I've been having trouble finding some to my taste.

Anyways, I wanted to ask something.

Since I have so much free time now I was wondering if I should attempt an original. (Won't be uploading it anytime soon.)

I have two ideas I'm interested in.

1. Rough synopsis- Its about a person who doesn't know who he is, where he is and where he's from. He's on a journey to find his true self but there was a. slight problem. Everyone was too weak. (More focused on Xianxia and Wuxia.)

Title- Journey Of The Lost One.

This one would be a simple carefree novel.

2. A simulator novel. If you don't know what a simulator is then just imagine the MC jumping to different worlds for a period of time before returning to his main world.

Basically I got his idea from reading, Carefree path of dreams, Way of the devil, Fantasy Simulator. I find the world hoping genre very fun and interesting so... This would be a full blown evil protagonist with no love interests or harem.

Title- Path To Perpetuity/ Eternity

Which is more interesting to you guys?

This aside,

I'm also frustrated. Way of the devil translations are axed at 717 and Carefree path of dream has been butchered after 650 by Atlas Studios. Does it get better? Has any of you read it?

Ok enough of the rant, enjoy the story.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Silence enveloped the bar as Tomura's face fell.
To think he would let such a piece of evidence out there. Even if he had the excuse that the original Tomura's memories and emotions were affecting him it didn't change the fact that it was still a mistake.
But this all the more fueled his determination to kill Nezu.
'Fucking rat.'
He noticed the stunned expression of All Might in the broadcast. So Nezu had not even told him such an important piece of information.
'Funny little rat.'
Tomura was amused. If he was just to make light speculation then he could guess what Nezu's train of thought might be.
'I can't let All Might go easy on him.'
Such stupidity made him chuckle, especially the fact that this was probably thought of by a rat that was many times smarter than the average human.
In fact, if Nezu had told All Might earlier than about this then All Might would leave everything aside just to capture him.
For him, it would no longer be a mission of justice but a personal mission that took importance over everything else.
That was All Might's justice and his guilt towards his master, Nana Shimura.
But it was somewhat expected. Nezu was never a human, so how could he understand them properly?
His EQ was still not up there.
"Tell me now. After your lies were exposed you won't be able to pressure him to kill himself. How do you feel?" All For One spoke once again but his voice was indifferent as always.
Kurogiri shared the same thoughts. Now that Tomura's plan was failed how would he feel? Especially now that he had to reveal himself to the whole world.
Would it all be for nothing?
Tomura glanced at the other screen with the same indifference and let out a grin while parting his lips.
...
Nezu knew of the troubles coming since he hid such a piece of important news from All Might but his current focus was in front.
He distributed copies of the file in his hand.
He had long burnt the necessary pages that held information about how Tenko Shimura was abused by his father at such a young age.
He also had to keep away the page containing information on how Kotaro's personality changed after his mother 'abandoned' him.
He had talked with the necessary authorities that provided him with all this information. No matter if it was wrong to hide such information they couldn't have the citizens feel an ounce of sympathy for such a demon.
Hence only the information Nezu spoke of was circulated among the reporters and silence filled the original bustling hall.
Just at this moment, All Might got up from his seat and muttered into the mic on his ear."I'm feeling a headache, forgive me."
He directly got up and left, ignoring the flustered media but not without glancing at Nezu one last time.
Nezu's expression didn't change but inwardly he was cringing, 'I don't know about you but I will certainly have a headache after this.'
But then all of a sudden a man stood up. He had his hair slicked back and his eyes were narrowed, "Mr. Nezu can I ask one final question?"
"Of course," Nezu replied with a smile but his face froze after hearing the reporter's next words.
"So Mr. Nezu, Genesis stated before his escape that you are not a human being. How much of that is true."
Not only Nezu but the rest of the reporters froze too. They actually wanted to ask this but were somewhat afraid too, especially after how the female reporter got shot down.
Nezu fell into thought.
Now should he tell the truth or simply lie?
If he told the truth then he would naturally fall into Genesis' palm. Isn't this what he wanted?
To make the people realise that humans were going to die for an animal.
But lying had even more severe consequences.
It had its pros and cons.
If he successfully lied then naturally all the pressure on him would certainly be reduced enough for him to not even have to think about saving himself.
But Genesis... Nezu sighed bitterly.
Genesis would immediately jump out.on his lie and even bring out evidence that he was a rat.
It wasn't a super-hidden fact and even some top heroes knew about it just that there wasn't any merit in sharing such news.
Even if Genesis couldn't gather evidence the preparator behind him, All For One, would.
Nezu forced a smile and said, "Yes, I was lucky to obtain my Quirk and be able to experience human life. In fact, sometimes I forget my origin and think that I'm a human too."
Nonetheless, he continued his 'speech', "As everyone can see, Genesis is a dangerous villain with zero bottom lines. He does not hesitate in killing children, the elderly, or even heroes that fight with all their might to protect people.
Such a person is simply an emotionless monster that needs to be taken down as soon as possible."
As he spoke several people were furiously making notes while some clenched their cameras and recorders. For some reason, Nezu's words invoked a sense of anger in them.
Yes, this person was killing the heroic people protecting them.
Such a sentiment was similarly shared by the reporters.
Soon the press conference ended and the reporters were slowly escorted. As the reporters were leaving Nezu remained tense and slightly moved behind the heroes.
He was worried about an attack. What if there was an enemy in disguise?
Fortunately, luck was on his side and nothing unexpected occurred.
He heaved a sigh of relief. This was one of the reasons he immediately arranged a press conference. He didn't want to allow Genesis to attack.
He knew that Genesis would not expect him to counterattack so quickly.
And he was right.
If Tomura knew that Nezu was holding a press conference at the moment then Nezu would probably be dead by now.
If it was someone else in Nezu's place they might even be too flustered to even think properly. After all only Nezu understood the pressure that was weighing down on him right now.
There was a peculiar look in everyone's eyes when they looked at him.
If he didn't reduce the pressure hastily he might succumb to it.
Fortunately, everything went smoothly and he wasn't in any immediate danger.
Soon everyone left and Nezu was alone in the hall. Nezu remained silent for a few moments before sighing.
He slowly headed towards the exit while muttering to himself with a bitter undertone, "You tried to kill me using social pressure but I easily resolved the pressure on me. One could say I've succeeded in foiling your plan."
"But..."
...
"But so what?"
Tomura glanced at the other screen with the same indifference and let out a grin while parting his lips.
Kurogiri was stunned and All For One said nothing.
"Even if he has proved my words wrong... So what? If I truly start a slaughter who will stop me?"
A dangerous look flashed through Tomura's eyes. "All Might? Endeavor? Foreign Heroes?"
Tomura chuckled.
"Can they?"
The bar went silent again but the silence was soon interrupted by a laugh.
"Ha-ha-ha." Laughter escaped from All For One. It wasn't a mocking laugh or a laugh full of praise, but a simple laugh without any emotions behind it.
"Good. I hope you can keep true to these words, I look forward to seeing what you do, my student."
The T.V buzzed before switching off.
Kurogiri wanted to say something but hesitated. At the same moment, Tomura looked at him, "Get some rest Kurogiri."
"I-"
Tomura cut him off, "Get some rest Kurogiri. You're going to be very busy starting tomorrow."
With that, he left Kurogiri alone and headed toward his room.
Kurogiri was left alone in the bar. He sighed before heading behind the counter.
He sighed once again before picking up a glass from the counter and started cleaning it, even if it was already clean.
This was his 'rest'.
...
Once Tomura went back inside his room he immediately sat crossed legs on his bed.
Taking a deep breath he circulated the unknown energy in his body silently.
After the previous round of cleansing Tomura did this 'cultivation' every day. Not only did it make his body feel lighter it also perfected his control over his quirks.
When he first learned of this he grew excited. He knew there was a later stage of quirk known as Awakening or simply Quirk Awakening.
Tomura felt a bit regretful. He had crossed over to this world when the only known method to awakening was an emotional outburst.
Even if there was some other method he couldn't know for now.
As for him awakening his Quirks through emotional outbursts...
It was simply laughable.
Even if Tomura was aware of it, he felt sore when he mentioned it, not that he cared but this blocked his route to power which could've been simpler.
His heart was long dead. It was like he had a personal quirk that numbed his emotions. Sure he felt lust, greed, anger, happiness, and other emotions but they never impacted him or his decision-making.
Besides one emotion... Or rather a sin.
It was pride.
Tomur- No, Zero was a very prideful person.
Even in his previous life when he could simply just leave and live a joyful life quietly he stood stubborn in destroying the association.
How much money did he have? He was easily one of the richest people on the planet. Just assassinating the prince of Dubai had credited him 3 billion dollars.
Even if the organization took away 10% of the commission he was still left with an enormous amount.
And this was just one of his assassinations.
Any single assassination that an SS rank assassin like him carried out cost tens of millions of dollars.
And Zero had more than hundreds of successful missions under his belt. In his whole career, he had only failed once.
He was simply filthy rich!
But his pride didn't allow him to just bear with it.
It could be said that this trait of his was the only thing that kept him 'alive' and without it, he would simply end up as an emotionless killing machine.
"Eh, technically I am one but-"
He still found joy in his actions, joy in success. Even if he had died destroying the association he was satisfied, his goal was completed.
Thus, while pride influenced his decisions he was not controlled by it.
But what Tomura wasn't aware of was that due to his upbringing even his sense of pride was screwed.
For Tomura as long as had the last laugh, his pride would never be hurt.
So what if he had to work for someone? So what if he had to bow his head? As long as he was the one alive at the end and his enemies dead, he naturally won.
This was Tomura's essence and way of life.
...
In a dark room under a bit of light present was a man sitting in a black suit. He had a mask with a skull-like structure that seemed to act as a life support system.
His face was heavily deformed with a scar tissue from his upper lip to the back of his head and neck. He also had two tubes connected to his throat that allowed him to breathe.
He tapped his fingers on the armrest of his seat and muttered to himself silently, "So Tomura Shigaraki has died? Interesting..."
