1 Chapter 1

"Hmm...."

A dim, soft light casts shadows over a strange figure in a cage. The being gently wakes up from its nap, disturbed by the light streaming over its body.

At a first glance, it seems there to be nothing out of place. However when you look closer, the cage seems to be way to small for the being.

'So soft...' The being thought, laying in a heap of shredded paper.

'Wait, soft? Since when do I have a soft bed?'

The beings eyes sprung open, and began scanning its area. 'Where am I?' It thought.

Looking around, it seems to be in a small cage with a shredded paper carpet. In the corners there where some small toys, a water bottle and a small spinning wheel. Next to the being there was a broken plastic box which seemed to have burst open.

While the being was looking around in panic, the light that is streaming into the cage has increased and now shows what the being looks like.

In the small cage lays a gigantic hamster. Its fur is beige brown with the fur on its face being white in colour. One thing standing out, apart of its size, is the metal hexagon appearing to be imbedded into its forehead.

When the hamster has assessed its surroundings it began shaking its head in denial. 'No way, nu uh. I'm not trapped in a cage. This is a dream, no, a nightmare.' It was at that moment that it realised its body had changed. Looking down and seeing what used to be human hands, now it was looking at pinkish paws with four fingers.

'I... what... how...?' It thought.

'Ok Edmond calm down. Either you're in a lucid dream, or this is reality. It doesn't matter right now, you first have to get to safety.' Edmond thought, trying to distract himself from thinking too much.

'First things first, how do I get out of this cage?' He asked himself while looking around.

Looking left he saw a small door with a latch. Seeing as he is way bigger than the original occupant Edmond wondered whether he would fit through the opening.

'Well this is easier than I thought' He thinks to himself while using his paw to open the latch through the bars.

Leaving the cage which from the outside looks like a big hamster cage, Edmond looks around and sees he is in a big room filled with a gigantic bed with pink covers and a huge desk with what looks like action figures placed on top.

'Everything is huge!' He thinks. A tiny part of his brain whispering that it is him that is smaller. Edmond however decides to ignore that for now and begins looking for a way out of the room.

'Luckily the room is unoccupied, I don't want to imagine what would happen when I get discovered.'

Seeing that there is only one door in the room, he walks to the door and tries to open it, to no avail.

"Wait a second mommy, I'm just going to feed Hammy and then I will go to school"

Suddenly Edmond hears a voice yell from somewhere outside the room. Footsteps seem to be heading his way and from the context he feels they are coming here for him.

'Wait, I can use this.' He thinks and hides under the desk next to the door.

A little, or for Edmond big, girl storms into the room and rushes to the cage, leaving the door open.

"Eating time Hammy!" The girl yells happily. But when the girl sees that the cage door is open she freezes up. Quickly standing up the girl begins searching for her hamster while yelling for her mother to come and help. Sadly for the girl Hammy, or Edmond in this case, was already gone.

'Pfew, that was close' Edmond thought while running through the hallway. 'What now though? I have escaped the room but where do I go now? Outside? Is it safe outside? What if everything outside is also way bigger? Is outside better than being here where they now will be looking for me?'

Edmond thinks over this dilemma while he continues to run through the hallway. When he reached the end and sees a half open door to the outside he has come to a decision. 'How bad could it be?' He thinks, running through the door.

He keeps running for a good while, before coming to a stop in a bush next to the sidewalk. Edmond had already realised that he isn't a human anymore. This was easy when he instinctively started running on his hands and feet. The bush he is hiding in however stands next to a reflecting glass wall and when he saw his reflection for the first time he had only one thing the say.

"Squeak squeak squeaky squeak ."

Of course since he is indeed a hamster he can't speak a human language so all that came out of his mouth where squeaks. It was then that there was a second, more robotic sounding voice coming from his forehead.

"The hamster asks, "Why am I a hamster?""

Edmond was shocked, rightfully so, when he heard a voice coming from his forehead.

Now looking at his forehead he saw the metal hexagon which he didn't notice when he looked at himself earlier.

'Ok, so I'm a huge hamster which has a piece of metal in its forehead. And that piece of metal can speak. This is totally normal. Yes, nothing weird about it.' Edmond began questioning his reality and turned away from the glass to look at the street. That was when he saw another shocking sight that left him speechless. On the others side of the street was a man with a chameleon head. Edmond had never seen something like this before except at a convention.

'Nobody is looking at him, could it be something normal?' He thought, looking at other people walking by. However when he took a closer look, a lot more people had weird things about them.

'That man has three eyes, and that girl has horns. I need to find out where I am quickly or else I will go insane.'

Edmond began searching for information, looking for street signs and billboards. Eventually he saw a sign that said Takoba Municipal Beach Park.

'Wait, is that Kanji? Why can I read Kanji? And that name, I remember it from somewhere.' Edmond thought while turning to go in that direction.

'Did I go the right way? This is a junkyard.' When Edmond arrived at the beach all he saw was trash that was thrown out.

'Hmm, what is that?' Hearing a sound coming from somewhere within the trash heaps, Edmond decided to investigate. Walking between towering trash heaps, Edmond stumbled upon a clearing where a teenage boy was hauling heavy objects while a rail thin man was seemingly coaching him.

'No way. Is this what I think it is?' Edmond thought, trying to make out more features of the 2 guys in the clearing.

'Dark green messy hair, check. Numerous burn scars, check. Blond hair that looks like bunny ears, check. Coughing up blood, check.' Edmond went down a list of characteristics that he remembered, matching all of them.

'Don't tell me, I got reincarnated in My Hero Academia as a Hamster.'
