PAGE 2: DEATH AND AWAKENING

*4 YEARS LATER*

Date: Thursday 12th October 2074

Location: Tokyo Japan; Ebisu

4 years had passed since the birth of Kazuya and today, he sat beside his mom and dad as they were being interviewed.

Kai, Yuri and Kazuya sat and a sofa while the reporter sat on a chair opposite theirs as a table with coffee, tea and desserts separated them both. The reporter smiled and said "hello ladies and gentlemen welcome to the Mitsui Yearly interview, I'm Ikutsuki Ren. Our guests today are; the head of the Mitsui family, Kai Mitsui, his wife; Yuri Mitsui and their last child; Kazuya Mitsui" Kai and Yuri smiled at the camera and Kazuya did the same as he showed an elegant smile, the reporter saw this and smiled as he thought 'thank goodness he's here'.

Mr. Ren then looked at Kai and said "it's a pleasure to have you Mitsui-sama, how are you doing?" Kai responded saying "the pleasure is all mine and am fine, thanks for asking" Ren then continued "okay let's jump right in. I noticed that Kazuya-san was able to understand what was going on which isn't common for children his age, how well has he been taught?" Kai smiled and said "in the Mitsui family, all our children are being taught many different things, two years after birth. This is because, children learn faster at a young age and as children of the 'Mitsui family' they have to be prodigious from the start" He looked at Kazuya then smiled before continuing "Kazuya is a very bright boy, he learns very fast and I expect great things from him"

Ren nodded then said "unto the next one" he took a piece of paper and continued by asking "Kai-sama, we all know that Yuri-sama has the quirk 'ground magnet' which allows her to gather ground to form a planetary body or better yet an orb but none of your children have manifested a quirk, do you believe Kazuya-san will manifest one?" "I strongly believe he will, sure none of my first two children have but there's something in me that tells me, he'll have a quirk. But if he doesn't, then I'll have to change my plans" Kai answered.

Ren eyes shined as he heard 'plans' and immediately he asked "if Kazuya-san is to get a quirk, what do you plan to do?" Kai smiled bitterly as he cursed himself for revealing such information but he kept a calm demeanor as he answered "if Kazuya does manifest a quirk then he's going to go to U.A high" this caused an uproar in the hall and in all of Japan, he then continued "for the past 50 years, the Mitsui family has been ruling the technological world, we've created the hero's gears, weapons and other things that have helped maintain society but no member of this family has ever been a hero, but I plan to change that. I strongly believe that if one of our own is to go to war, we'll make better gear and improve drastically. For the first time in 50years, we plan to take the heroes stage!"

Ren was left dumbfounded when he heard that but soon regained himself as he said "we shall take a short break before we continue" with that the cameras were shut off as the different workers went onto relax while the viewers in the hall headed to the recreational area or outside to do various things. The Mitsui family was escorted to a high class room for their break.

As Kai stepped into the room, he fall face first unto the birth and after a long sigh he muttered "am exhausted" "fufufu, it is understandable" Yuri said, Kazuya rushed to the table with food and began eating like a child his age. "Hey don't eat too much" Kai reprimanded, with food stuffed into his mouth Kazuya said "okash… dashd…" and he continued devouring, Kai just sighed while Yuri chuckled and said "he's just like you when you were younger" Kai scratched his head and said awkwardly "don't remind me of that"

After that, They talked about various things and ate until finally the break was over and they headed back to the hall as the interview continued. The rest of the interview went by uneventfully as they asked mostly about the Mitsui family business.

Soon after, the interview came to an end and everyone was headed home, Kai followed by his wife and Kazuya stepped into the car as they drove home.

It was evening time, as the streets were filled with the bustling street lights while the cars drove with their lights on. Many were looking at the night sky, the beautiful moon but if one looked carefully, they'll see a huge bird in better terms, a man with wings. This individual had night dark hair, a muscular body and held a huge gun in his hand. He stood still as his wings helped him 'stand' while he looked at the cars on the road, as though searching for a specific one and he didn't wait long to find the vehicle. Seeing it, he smiled and charged through the starry night as he headed straight to his target.

Coincidentally, his target seemed to be Kai's car (seriously? This is just a coincidence). They were crossing a bridge and out of nowhere the bird man appeared about 10 meters away and fired at the car. This shocked Kai and Yuri but without wasting time, Yuri rushed out of the car and used her quirk to gather the ground which block the attack.

"Tsk" the villain clicked his tongue as his bullet was interrupted, Yuri then sneered "oh a pesky villain, I guess you were sent to kill my husband well sorry for you as I'm here" the villain cackled as he said "you stop me? Do you know who I am? I am the bird of the night, the predator… I am Eagle dark" "pffffttt… ahhahahaha" unable to control her laughter, Yuri laughed out loud, this pissed Eagle off as he began shooting from all sides, Yuri sighed as she began effortlessly blocking the attacks with her 'ground magnet'. Eagle became more pissed as his bullets weren't going through but he soon smiled as he remembered the gun that 'that man' gave him. He reached out to his pocket and removed a small pistol, Yuri seeing this wondered 'has this man gone crazy' but she soon understood as an orb of light was formed at the front of the gun and then it was fired. Yuri tried blocking it but it easily destroyed her earth shield, she tried to dodge but was too late as the orb cut her left hand from her shoulder.

When Kazuya saw this, the little boy wanted to rush out as he cried "MOM…MOM…MOM!!" but he was held in place by Kai, who was shedding tears at that moment. Yuri heard her son's cries and she wanted to go to him but noticed the other orb of light coming her way. She turned and looked at Kazuya and time seemed to slow down as she said "Mommy loves you Kazu, take care" with those words, light engulfed her and BOOM… Yuri Mitsui was no longer of this world.

Seeing his wife's dead, Kai lost all strength and let go of Kazuya who immediately rushed to his mother's corpse and began crying "MOM, wake up mom… please say something" but to no avail, for a boy his age, this was just too much.

Suddenly, something overshadowed Kazuya and he looked up to see Eagle dark, the man who killed his mother and Eagle said with a smile "*whistle* look what we have here, aren't you Kazuya Mitsui, seems today is my lucky day. If I kill you, I'll get so much cash" with cold eyes void of emotions, Kazuya asked "you are the one who killed mom, right?" Eagle smiled and answered "oh the hag, you saw how I killed her and you're still asking, guess kids always gonna be stupid, well let me-" he was interrupted by the signals sounding in his head and he immediately stepped back and asked himself 'why am I so scared?' He then looked at Kazuya who had his head down and wondered 'is it because of this kid?' His questions were soon answered as he felt himself being pulled, he tried resisting but it was all for naught. He looked at where he was going and noticed he was moving towards Kazuya and he connected the dots and muttered in disbelief "this kid unlocked his quirk" he didn't have time to fight back as he arrived before Kazuya and he heard a word "DIE" and he immediately crashed into a building and lost consciousness. Kai who watched all this was shocked and he wanted to call Kazuya but the boy fainted which may be due to his quirk awakening and him immediately using it.

This day marked the beginning of a drastic change in Kazuya's life.
