CH 6: Shopping Together

"It's been six years since I died in a formerly ordinary world. Many things have changed in me. I have learned how to fight militantly and how to love someone sincerely. Training with Endeavour has hardened my character!"The boy with short blue hair and sea-colored eyes gave a mental report.

Ryūu was sitting on a bench in the courtyard of Todoroki Manor, looking up at the starry sky. Soon a beautiful woman in her thirties with snow-white hair approached him. Rei gently stroked Ryūu's head, looking at him with long-dead eyes.

"Go to sleep, son," she said with a perpetually strained smile. It had been more than six months since Toya's death. Rei was becoming more and more nervous by the day. Ryūu could see that she was just about to snap.

"Mom, stop grieving so unnecessarily. My intuition tells me that we will meet him again. Don't forget about the rest of your family. Fuyumi will be going to high school soon. I am one hundred percent sure she needs your support and love!" Ryūu decided to give his mother moral support, hinting that Toya wasn't really dead. He did not want the terrible canon of the Todoroki family to be repeated under his leadership. Ryūu didn't want his sweet little sister Shoto to grow up to be a completely cold person with rigid complexes.

"You are a very good and kind boy, Ryūu," Rei replied with tears in her eyes as she hugged her son tightly. Rei felt that she had been blind all this time. Fixated on the death of her eldest child, she had stopped raising her other children, mindlessly sitting on sedatives. A woman would never forgive her husband so easily. However, blaming her children for something is clearly pointless.

The next day, Rei, Shoto, and Ryūu went shopping, deciding to give themselves an adequate day off. Ryūu and Shoto were already tired of practicing every twenty-four hours. They both knew that sooner or later they would break down because of such harsh activities. However, Ryūu was no longer going to idle away! It was for this reason that he called his little sister and mother for a fun shopping trip.

"Eh, I didn't have a lot of money in my last life to be free to go shopping without all the fuss!" Ryūu sighed to himself as they toured the sights of Musutafu, which is known throughout Japan for the great UA Academy.

Every year Shoto got prettier and prettier. She wore a light summer dress and shoulder-length loose hair. She didn't look like she could freeze a whole room in a matter of seconds. And then melt it with a wave of her gentle hand. Rei, on the other hand, wore slightly baggy gray clothes in order to hide her large rounded forms and not stand out from the crowd. Nevertheless, she still attracted many a rogue with her beauty and adult feminine charm.

"Buy me a sweets, Mom!"Shoto exclaimed, pointing with her little finger to a shop with round lollipops on sticks. Unfortunately, they could not buy anything. For at that moment a brazen thief with the appearance of an ugly toad was running nearby.

He jumped from one curb to the next, shooting out with his ugly tongue. He took wallets and jewelry from everyone he met, trying to get rich as much as he could. However, he was definitely out of luck. Wanting to steal Rei Todoroki's bag, the villain encountered the angry eyes of Ryūu and Shoto. Shoto, did not holding back in the slightest, took one quiet step, effortlessly freezing the area a few dozen meters in front of her.

The inhabitants of the city stared in shock at the block of ice in which the toad was located. The villain trembled and twitched his green eyes, praying to all the gods that he would not be killed.

"Take it easy, Shoto, take it easy. Using quirks on this scale, even in self-defense, is definitely not allowed. But we are Prospector's children, after all. So I guess you don't have to worry," Ryūu stepped forward with a slight smile on his lips. He transformed into a two meter tall phoenix in a flash, flapping his blue wings toward the clump, releasing streams of air and flame. Ryūu respected the laws, but felt that sometimes they should still be broken. There was not an ounce of doubt in his actions. He lost all passivity, exchanging it for strategic aggressiveness.

Soon all the ice melted, unable to withstand the peculiar flame of the Phoenix. Rei Todoroki looked blankly at her daughter, thinking herself a complete fool. She loved and feared Shoto at the same time. Rei was terrified of Shoto left side, which the girl had inherited from her father. Nevertheless, after seeing with her own eyes Shoto's sincere determination to protect her loved ones with ice, Rei realized that all along she had simply been wrong.

They continued on their way, checking out all the places of interest. The family wasn't worried about that toad, leaving the whole showdown for the police. They spent the whole day together, experiencing feelings of joy and freedom. The vacation went all of five points out of five. In the evening, Rei, Shoto, and Ryūu arrived at the Hero Academy of UA. Ryūu looked around from every angle, marveling at its scale. 'Anime will never compare to real life!'Ryūu exclaimed in his thoughts.

"Ryūu, promise me that you will definitely get into UA with me! Father told us that we have the potential to surpass the All Might! and I want to be the strongest hero so I can help you with everything!"Shoto said With her nose up proudly,Her multicolored eyes shone with ambition and determination. She did not set herself selfish goals.

Shoto would never become a detached and insensitive person, because she had her own beloved brother for whom she would do anything.

"Ha-ha-ha-ha. Okay. You take care of me and I take care of you. We're the perfect team," Ryūu replied with a calm smile as he patted his adorable little sister's soft cheeks. At the moment of their heart-to-heart conversation, a plump-looking woman walked by, holding the hand of a boy with green curly hair. The child, hearing their resolute words, raised his head toward UA Academy with tears in his eyes, still hoping that he could be a hero without having a quirk.

"М? Izuku Midoriya?"Ryūu looked around, spotting a curly top with green hair already in the distance. The main character of the anime itself appeared in front of him for a few moments. Forever crying, shy, worried. Ryūu had never liked characters like that. Nevertheless, Midoriya in some unusual way knows how to hook and entice viewers. 'It's pointless to think about it. Each person is different in his own way. I'm sure that many people will like his character,' Ryūu thought to himself. Izuku was a bit like Ryūu in his previous life. Except less whiny and less determined.

"It's late, children. It's time for all of us to go home," Rei told Todoroki with a happy smile. She no longer felt heavy on her heart.

Rei and her both children called a cab and drove to the Todoroki estate.

Fuyumi spent all day in the kitchen, trying to learn how to cook. Natsuo, on the other hand, was idly watching interesting cartoons on his laptop. By the way, neither of them wanted to pursue a career as professional heroes, considering it foolish to imitate their father. They decided to go their own way, which will definitely not cross Endeavour.

When the night fell and everyone went to bed, Ryūu lay in his room cuddled up with Shoto. The girl did not want to sleep alone, constantly coming to her beloved brother. Nevertheless, Ryūu himself never complained. Now he closed his eyes and turned to the system. He saw that the task icon was shimmering with iridescent light. Clicking mentally on the icon, a text appeared in his mind that alerted the user to very good news:

[You stopped the villain and turned him in to the authorities. Collect 100 points from the system store and wait for more missions.]

[Next came another notice that struck Ryūu hard:

[After buying the second devil's fruit, your system will evolve].
