17 All for One And One for All

*The Next Day*

"Man, all the channels were making such a big deal out of it."

"I know, right I was surprised."

"Can you blame them? The hero course that keeps pumping out pro heroes was attacked. I bet they had a field day."

I am shuffling my cards while listening to my classmate's conversations about that day's events. I see Izuku giving me a nervous glance and I smile in his direction. He quickly turns back and looks straight ahead of him.

Mina leans back in her chair and asks Asui, "Tsu, who's gonna teach homeroom today?"

Asui puts her hand to her chin, "Well, Aizawa Sensei is supposed to be in the hospital recovering from his injuries..."

At that moment, the door slides open and we hear the usual empty voice, "Morning…"

Aizawa walks in through the door, covered head to toe in bandages and with one arm still in a sling.

I raise my voice, "Aizawa Sensei, are you sure you can teach like that?"

A few students nod their agreements and concerns but Aizawa waves us off and speaks through his bandages, "Don't worry about me. More importantly, the fight isn't over yet."

My classmates begin to panic, "Don't tell me…"

Mineta's eyes widen, "The villains again?"

I lean back and look at the ceiling, "So, it's that time of year again, huh?"

Everyone looks at me strangely, "What?"

There is a moment of silence before Aizawa speaks again, "The U.A. sports festival is drawing near."

Everyone else yells out, "That's a supernormal school event!"

Jiro raises her hand, "Is it okay to have a sports festival so soon after the villains snuck inside?"

Ojiro voices his concern, "What if they attack again or something…?"

Aizawa replies, "Apparently, they think of it as U.A. showing that our crisis management system is solid as a rock by holding the event. Security will also be strengthened five times compared to previous years."

His eyes turn serious, "Above all, the sports festival is a huge chance. It's not an event to be canceled because of a few villains."

Mineta mumbles, "But isn't that a good reason? It's just a sports festival, right?"

I shake my head, "Nope, the sports festival is one of the biggest in Japan. All the top heroes from around the country will be watching in order to scout for potential heroes."

'Through that, I can get good connections and resources to hunt him down.'

Aizawa nods, "Exactly as Shiro said. Before we had the Olympics, which were once one of the greatest sports events in the world. But now, they are a shell of their former glory, and for Japan, the U.A. sports festival has taken its place. The better you perform, the more likely the big names will want you.

Joining a famous hero agency will get you more experience and popularity. Time is limited. If you want to go pro, then the path to your future will be affected by this event. One chance a year, a total of three chances."

A fire lights in everyone's mind as Aizawa continues, "No aspiring hero can afford to miss this event. If you understand that, then don't slack off in your preparations!"

"Yes sir!"

The bell rings and Aizawa leaves while we wait for our teacher, 'Assuming it's the same as every other year. The first event will be a qualifying event, then a small team battle royale of some kind, and finally some sort of one on one competition.'

I close my eyes, and think about Todoroki and the wind kid from the recommended exam, 'I haven't seen him yet, but I haven't seen anyone from Class B either. But there's no way that he didn't get in, so it looks like I'll need to fight against those two. Other than them...'

I think about Izuku, and Bakugo the second and third biggest threats to me, 'I should gather information on Class 1-B too…'

The class goes on and the bell for lunch rings as we finish up math. My classmates all start talking excitedly about the upcoming sports festival.

I see Tokoyami give me a side glance before quickly exiting the room, 'He hasn't spoken to me since USJ… well honestly I don't think we've talked before USJ, so it doesn't make a difference.'

Kirishima bumps my arm with his elbow, "I'm sure you'll do well, Class Rep"

I grin slightly, "Who knows, you guys might stand out more than me."

Mina giggles, "Yeah right. Knowing you, you have some evil plan to steal the spotlight."

Momo smiles and nods in agreement, "He definitely does."

Sero slaps Kirshimas back, "If we put on a good show and stand out, we'll have taken the first steps to become a pro."

We continue talking for a bit and I see Izuku start walking over, 'Looks like it's time.'

Izuku stands next to me and asks, "Hey, Shiro. Wanna eat lunch together?"

I give him a small smile, "Sure. Let's go."

*Izuku POV*

We exit the classroom and start walking down the hall. I still remember All Might's reaction when I told him in the infirmary that Shiro somehow knew that he was running out of power.

*Two days ago*

"WHAT!!!"

I cover my ears as All Might yells out in surprise, "What do you mean he found out?"

I shrug my shoulders, "He just came up to me and whispered, "You're concerned about All Might because he will run out of power soon," I don't know how he found out."

All Might puts his hand to his face, "A week ago, he came into the teacher's lounge once and asked about transferable quirks."

This time I'm surprised, "What! But… how!? Did Bakugo tell him?"

All Might shakes his head, "I honestly don't know. I considered that, but I'm beginning to think that he did."

Recovery Girl sighs as she hears this, "On the first day of school, the Bakugo kid came into the health room because he had his arm muscles damaged from shockwaves. But I noticed some needles in his arms, and I asked him about them. He said that a classmate did it. When I looked closer, I was surprised because what the student did was highly advanced acupuncture."

My eyes widen as I remember seeing the needles in Kacchan's arm, "Acupuncture!?"

"Stuff like that isn't something that you can just memorize and learn. Each point in acupuncture varies from person to person, but the needles were in the exact place they needed to be in order to increase blood flow and heal the damage faster. Earlier, that Shiro kid was watching me carefully. He was judging my medical analysis. I am sure that he is the same kid that did the acupuncture."

All Might nods his head, "Back at USJ, he said he used a neural paralysis poison or something on that Nomu. It incapacitated its arm."

Recovery Girl nods, "That kid is terrifyingly smart. I've only met him once, but I could tell from his eyes. He's the type of guy that picks up on every piece of information and uses it for his own purpose. Even the slightest slip, he probably caught it and with enough hints, he figured it out."

I put my head down in shame, 'Did I mess up that many times?'

All Might notices this and comforts me, "Don't worry too much about it, if Recovery Girl is right then that means he hasn't told anyone. He knows this is a secret and will probably confront me soon. I don't think he's found out about One for All yet, but just the concept of it. It was bound to happen eventually, but I didn't expect it to happen like this. What you need to do is…"

*Present*

Shiro has his usual smile on his face and both his hand behind his head, "This direction is away from the cafeteria. I thought we were getting lunch, Izuku."

I cough slightly, "Well, you see… I need to pick up something quickly…"

His smile doesn't disappear, "I see…"

We enter the teacher's lounge and awaiting us is a small white bear and All Might in his muscle form.

Principle Nezu waves at us, "Welcome, Shiro. It's good to see you again."

Shiro nods, "Good to see you as well, principle."

*Shiro POV*

'So, since Nezu is here, that means the faculty already knows of All Might's time limit."

I take a seat and Izuku nervously sits next to me, "All Might Sensei, so is it true? You have a time limit to your powers?"

All Might sighs and a sudden burst of steam gets released from his body. As it clears, a skinny man with sunken eyes and hollow cheeks takes his place.

All Might nods his head, "It's as you say. I was severely injured in a fight against a villain many years ago. That led to a decline in my power and thus limited the time I could use my quirk."

I nod my head, "Would you mind showing me your injury?"

All Might nods and lifts his shirt, "My respiratory system is in shambles and-"

But I finished his sentence, "And your stomach was scooped out… No wonder you have a time limit."

Principle Nezu clears his throat, "I hope you understand the nature of this situation. Only a handful of people know about this and if this were to get out into the public…"

I wave him off, "Don't worry, I understand. The villains would see this as their chance to rise from the shadows and Japan would be in chaos. Believe me, I have no intention of telling anyone else."

All Might, Nezu, and Izuku, both give a sigh of relief, "But… I would like to know, why did you give Izuku your quirk, All Might? And how exactly does the transferring work?"

Their eyes widen and jaws drop, All Might is the first to speak, "Y-You… how do you know?"

I flash a smile, "I overheard Izuku's conversation with Bakugo. I had an interest in him, so I followed him after he came back from the nurse's office."

Izuku's eyes widened even further as I continued my explanation, "After that, I just listened and took note of small details. The big thing was USJ, I learned a lot there."

All Might slowly closed his mouth and swallowed his saliva, "Y-You…"

The smile disappears from my face, "You haven't answered my question yet, All Might. This may seem rude of me, but I enjoy staying informed. In this day and age, it doesn't matter what quirk you have, information will always be the strongest power. Whoever holds the information will be the strongest. I don't plan or need to use it against you, but now that I'm this far in, I might as well figure out the whole thing."

All Might nods, and begins explaining the origins of his quirk. All for One, the legendary overlord, and the creator of All Might's quirk, One for All. How All for One bestowed a quirk to his younger brother and how that quirk started growing and became his biggest threat. How All Might was previously quirkless. All Might's teacher, Nana Shimura, and her death against All for One. All Might's final battle against All for One and how Izuku and All Might met, as well as the reason why Izuku received One for All.

When All Might is done, I sit there with my hands together, 'That's a lot deeper than I expected… This quirk has been passed down since the beginning of quirks. I was right about the quirk that can steal and redistribute quirks as well.'

Principle Nezu says quietly, "I hope we can trust you will not share any of this with anyone. I could count the people that know about this on my fingers and still have fingers left."

I nod seriously, "I understand, this is a lot… more than I originally thought."

I stand up and sigh, "Well, there's still fifteen minutes before lunch ends and I'm hungry."

I walk outside and head to the cafeteria.

*All Might POV*

I turn to Izuku, "Midoriya, thanks for bringing him here. You can go now, there's something I need to talk to Principal Nezu about."

Izuku nods his head, "Sure."

When he exits, I slowly turn to Nezu, "Nezu…"

Nezu nods grimly, "I know. When you contacted me yesterday about this, I started digging into Shiro. Look what I found."

He throws down a file and I look through it, 'Parents: Leo Hirota, Hina Hirota, deceased.'

My eyes widen at the name Hina Hirota, "He's related to them!?"

Nezu nods, "Leo Hirota, a genius doctor that used his quirk, X-ray, to perform almost nigh impossible surgeries. He suddenly quit his job and went traveling a few years ago after his wife died. The wife in question, Hina Hirota, was a critically acclaimed chef with famous restaurants across the country. She was murdered a few years ago by A-rank villain, Muscular."

I sigh, "So that where he got all that medical knowledge from, he was taught by one of the best."

Nezu continues, "During the interview for the recommendation exam, he mentioned that he wanted to become a hero for connections. Information on criminal investigations and contacts with other heroes. He also said he wanted to become a hero because of a certain goal. When we asked what it was, he didn't tell us, but I'm sure you see what I'm getting at, Toshinori."

I nod my head seriously, "He became a hero for revenge…"

Nezu nods seriously, "We need to keep our eye on him. These types usually stray from the path of the hero. He has great potential, but his revenge may be a weight that will drag him down."

AN: So, this chapter we saw what people think of Shiro. I found it amusing to write.
