Recovering And Training

(UA Staff-room)

All Might and the other staff of UA including Nezu and police investigator Naomasa discuss Shigaraki and his attack on the facility with All Might noting Shigaraki's childlike nature. Kega listens closely to All Might and thinks to himself "Hm, this Shigaraki seems to be unstable…most likely being manipulated, hopefully we can stop him especially after that Nomu of his injured Kanji…to think he'd hurt children just as easily as heroes".

(Medbay)

Kanji slowly regains consciousness and his eyes flutter open revealing he's in UA's medical facility, he groans "Damn, that thing hit me like a truck, can barely remember what even happened" He turns to see Recovery Girl checking her board before she turns to him with a look of relief on her face "Ah your awake, good I was thinking you weren't gonna be up for another few hours or so" Kanji chuckles lightly "So how am I doing doc?" Recovery Girl smiles "Your pretty much completely recovered however you appear to have suffered severe head trauma so I would recommend you stay here. I fear you may have a concussion" Kanji nods "Probably do, I can barely remember what happened?" Recovery Girl walks over to him and shows him an x-ray as well as a ct scan which shows his skull has a fracture in it though it appears to have healed somewhat. "You got quite lucky as your helmet prevented your skull from cracking into fragments" Kanji breathes deeply "I really dodged a bullet ow-" he is cut off by a feeling of nausea and his head hurting. Recovery Girl hands him some medicine "Here this should ease your nausea and headaches." She hands him a glass of water and some tablets which he takes, "Thank you" Recovery Girl smiles "No problem just don't go getting injured again" Kanji chuckles "No promises".

(A few hours later, Medbay)

Kanji yawns stretches his legs as he finally gets out of the hospital bed and thanks Recovery Girl before heading to home after being told UA is closed after the incident in the USJ.

(Street, Near Kanji's home)

Kanji pulls his hood up and walks down the street to his house with his head still hurting, he winces before grabbing the door handle and opening it. Before walking in he looks around and sighs.

(Kanji's Home)

He is immediately greeted by Razor who jumps into his arms with a loud meow, Kanji smiles "Hey bud, sorry I was gone so long, got pretty banged up today" Razor meows and nuzzles against his chest. Kanji chuckles and pats him on the head "Don't worry I'm ok and I'm not leaving you anytime soon" he walks over to the counter and puts his pills away before grabbing some water and sitting on the couch with Razor sat on his lap "That Nomu is pretty vicious didn't even hesitate before slamming me into the ground, it was reckless but if I didn't Izuku and the others would have surely been hurt or worse" he clears the thought from his head and turns on the tv watching the news mention him as one of those injured though not by name. Kanji looks at his phone and sees a faint scar on the right side of his face just in front of his ear.

(League Of Villains HQ)

Shigaraki growls while Kurogiri heals his bullet wounds "I'll make them and All Might pay for that" Kurogiri sighs while Shigaraki discuses something with "Sensei" before turning to Kurogiri "Oh and invite Seducer and Bandager back here…Sensei says they are useful" Kurogiri nods and leaves through a portal.

(Elsewhere, Rooftop)

Seducer and Bandager sigh as they drink some alcohol on a rooftop in an abandoned part of town when a black and purple portal appears again and Seducer grins as Kurogiri appears "What do you need?" Kurogiri sighs "Shigaraki wishes to extend you and invitation to officially join the LOV, what do you say?" Seducer grins and looks at Hōtai who reluctantly nods "Sure, count us in" Kurogiri nods and motions the two to follow him which they do.

(The Next Day, Kanji's Home)

Kanji takes his pills again and makes himself and Razor some food "Here you go bud" he places the food down next to him before eating his own food. Kanji sighs and finishes his meal before grabbing his uniform and stuff and patting Razor on the head before walking out to UA.

(UA High)

Kanji walks in and head straight to 1A ignoring the stares from people commenting on how badly he was injured and how he shouldn't even be there due to health concerns but he pays them no mind and heads to his class.

(Class 1A)

The class hear the door open and everyone particularly Izuku and Mineta gasp to see Kanji who smiles softly "I'm recovered…mostly" Aizawa turns to him "That's good to hear but try to be more careful in future. We don't want our next generation to be out before they even become pros" Kanji nods "Yes sir" he sits down in his chair and Aizawa continues "Anyway I was saying that my injures are irrelevant since something bigger for you all is coming…the sports festival" everyone including Kanji gasps "The sports festival…I can finally prove myself on the big stage, though it does seem risky to host it so soon after the attack-" He hears Izuku bring up his thoughts about the timing and Aizawa nods "Indeed it is risky however the festival is too important to cancel since it's one of the most viewed events in the world and a major opportunity for you to get scouted and offered work with an agency" Izuku nods and doesn't respond while Kanji thinks to himself "I don't know who want me as an apprentice but life does have its ways of surprising us" the bell goes off signalling their lunch.

(Lunchtime, Hallway)

Kanji walks with Izuku, Tenya and Uraraka when Izuku speaks up "So Uraraka why do you want to become a hero?" She goes silent for a moment before answering awkwardly "Well, for money really. My family's struggling financially since their construction company slowed down, I know it sounds selfish" Tenya and Izuku rebuke her "It's not selfish at all" Kanji nods "Agreed, that's noble of you" Izuku turns to Kanji "What about you Kanji?" Kanji breathes deeply "I wanna be a hero to prove that you don't need to be able to shoot beams or have super strength to be a great hero…in absolute terms I wanna be the best hero I can be while pushing the boundaries of what makes a hero" The three gasp and Izuku gasps seeing Kanji and Uraraka with powerful ambitions and feeling ashamed to have doubted himself. All Might walks up and asks Izuku to join him for lunch while Kanji, Uraraka and Tenya go to the mess hall.

(Mess Hall)

Uraraka, Kanji and Tenya sit together while they eat lunch and Uraraka turns to Kanji "So I didn't get to hear you yesterday what about your family? Are they heroes?" Kanji breathes deeply "I don't know…never knew them" Tenya and Uraraka look at him in shock while Kanji continues "All I remember is growing in an orphanage and the only answer I got from the one who took me in was ("They wanted a child with a better quirk") so I have made it my goal to spite them for it ever since and be the best hero I can" Tenya and Uraraka smile softly "Well, we're here for you as well as Izuku. We'll stand with you" Kanji smiles "Thanks, I appreciate that a lot".

(Classroom 1A)

Kanji sighs as the bell rings again signalling the end of the day however when they open the class door they are greeted by students from other classes who came to look at the class who fought against villains. Bakugo growls "Get outta my way losers!" A student from the general studies course stares at Bakugo directly "If it's a war you want, it's a war you'll get besides once we win we're taking your place on the hero course-" They are cut off by Tetsutetsu "What'd you know I come to see the class who beat villains only to a bunch of condescending brats!" Kanji sighs he jumps over everyone quickly leaves the school wanting to start training as soon as possible.

(Kanji's Home)

He quickly rushes inside and pets Razor before grabbing his workout equipment "This is gonna be a long two weeks…but I'm ready for it" he begins with some basic dumbbell sets wanting to slowly ease his injured body back into shape".
