13 Chapter 13: Visit to the Doctors

Both parents sprint to their Daughter's room! Aizawa following behind but of course not barging into the girls room

Asa's first in! "Hitomi what's wrong!?"

Followed by Hajime! "Hitomi what's wrong!?"

And Aizawa bringing up the rear and staying outside ". . ."

Hitomi is stood in her room in a hoodie and shorts cupping a sleeping white mouse in her hand... Staring at it like it's made of solid gold...

Asa gasps! "I-Is that...?"

Hajime yelps! "Ah a mouse!" Asa elbows him again!

She gently takes Hitomi's hand and stares at the mouse "It's alive...?"

Hitomi nods!

Hajime is confused... "Why are we excited about a mouse?"

Asa siiiiighs! "It's one of the practice mice! Why else would a mouse be in her room?"

"But the practice mice are all sto- Ohhhh!!"

Hitomi giggles "Got there in the end Dad"

He jumps up and down in excitement!! "How'd you do it!? How!?" He looks at Aizawa!

He raises his hands! "Don't look at me... I didn't do anything and I don't know why you're excited about a mouse..."

Hitomi looks! "Who are- You're Eraser Head right? We met when I was a kid"

Aizawa nods "That's right... Can I ask what's so special about a sleeping mouse...? I have my suspicions but..."

Asa, the apparent explainer of the family, answers "W-well we were given a selection of mice for Hitomi to turn to stone to try and undo the effect on her own... But it never worked..."

"Yet now it has... Interesting" he looks at Hitomi "What did you do...?"

"Nothing! That's just it, I wasn't even touching them I just heard a crunch, looked and a mouse jumped and faceplanted right next to me!"

"I see... And where do you keep them? The statues" she points to a shelf and he goes over... A line of stone mice are set up along it as well as a pile of bandages. He shifts aside the bandages to reveal a little pile of stone shell-like pieces underneath "These bandages...? Where did they come from...?"

Asa and Hajime shrug and Hitomi thinks... "Well... I think they're the one's I was wearing in the ambulance after... Y'know..." She sighs... "Why...?"

Aizawa grins to himself "Because either these bandages are special... Or you're a Fairytale Princess"

Hitomi tilts her head "Huh?"

After a quick phone call Aizawa, Asa, Hajime and Hitomi are picked up by a sleek black car and taken to the nearest Public Safety Commission testing facility. There they're met by a man in a lab coat

"Good morning Sekizō family, Eraser Head. I'm Doctor Kesseki, I'll be handling today's tests" he does a round of hand shaking "We're waiting for a mid ranking hero to join us to assist in these tests"

Aizawa raises an eyebrow "Who's that then?"

"Me... Boo hoo..." A man in a dark blue jumpsuit with a sad face on the front and packets of tissues on a utility belt comes over

The Doctor smiles "Here we are! Pro Hero Tear Jerker, his Quirk should be helpful"

"I'm happy to be of assistance to the young lady..." He dries his eyes and blows his nose!

Hitomi chuckles "Judging by the name... You can make people cry?"

Tear Jerker nods "That's right... But it makes me cry too...! Waaaaah!!" He dries his eyes again!

Hitomi smiles 'You're already crying man...'

The Doctor gestures ahead "We have everything set up ready for you all, a waiting room for the parents and Mr Aizawa and the testing room for young Miss Sekizō"

Asa smiles "Thank you for setting it all up so quickly"

"Well... With the attention following the uh... Recent incident... Any discoveries about Miss Sekizō's Quirk are welcome"

With the decent of a bit of an awkward atmosphere they head to to their respective rooms

Inside the testing room there's a cage of five mice along with a tray of glass bottles, pipets, slides and a box of tissues

Doctor Kesseki leads Hitomi and Tear Jerker in "Here we go, Miss Sekizō if you would please use your Quirk on these mice, don't worry we won't be looking your way"

Hitomi nods and makes sure the men are facing away before lifting her eye covers and having a short staring contest with the mice "Ok... Done"

The Doctor nods "Mr Tear, please use your Quirk, Miss Sekizō use the pipets to get as many tears as you can"

"You got it Doc... Sorry young lady" a sad blue aura spreads from the Hero's body and once enveloped both Hitomi and the Doctor feel tears streaming down their faces and all Hitomi's snakes droop down and nuzzle into her...

"N-now Miss Sekizō" he takes the offered tissues from the hero "Use the pipets to collect as many tears as you can" he dries his eyes

Hitomi starts sucking up her tears into all of the pipets then dries her cheeks and re-wraps her eyes "I'm done now... Turn off the waterworks please..." She sniffles

Tear Jerker stops his aura and the Doctor comes over to the table "Very well done Miss Sekizō! Now, would you like to be here for the first little experiments?"

She smiles "May as well, I've not put blood and sweat but I've put tears into this"

"Ha! Indeed you have, Mr Tear thank you for your assistance, if you would please remain in the building in case your skills are required again"

Tear Jerker sniffles "Will do, thanks for the chance to help Doc... I hope this works out for you young Lady" he blows his nose then makes his way out the room

Once the Weeping Hero is gone the Doctor brings a mouse statue onto the table "Aaaand here we go" he takes a pipet and drips some tears onto the mouse

Hitomi holds her breath in anticipation of finally being free of worry...

There is... No reaction... The Doctor coughs awkwardly... "Ah... Don't worry there's more we can try"

Hiding her sudden crushing disappointment Hitomi smiles... "Y-yeah... What kinda stuff?"

"Well... The tear soaked bandages were enveloping the previous mouse for a week... Taking into account the absorption of the bandages diluting the effects it may still take a small amount of time therefore we will leave this mouse as a first test and try something new with a second"

Hitomi nods "Alright, what do you suggest?"

"Well from previous incidents and also the mouse freed in your bedroom we can confirm when released the subject leaves behind a stone shell like structure... If we treat your tears as a substance that erodes the shell, like an acid, then we can just add a substance to increase it's corrosive properties... Such aaaas" he rummages through the bottles on the table "Ethanol! This should bolster the effects"

Hitomi gulps in anticipation... No matter how many tears it takes she'll help all she can...
