11 Chapter 11: Good Cop, Quiet Cop

An hour later there are a couple ambulances, police cars and annoyingly... News vans littered around the area in front of the school. Police are interviewing a distressed member of Chiwa's pack.

Within another ambulance an agitated Chiwa is sat getting a minor cut on her cheek patched up, yelling to anyone that'll listen "He was turned to stone! Medusa killed him! I already posted it all over my socials! That bitch is so fucked! I knew she was a freaky Monster!"

This is the scene the Pro hero Eraser Head AKA Shota Aizawa is greeted with as he arrives on his own two feet.

He sighs... "Déjà vu with this girl..." He looks for the Officer in charge and finds it's Tsukauchi again! "More Déjà vu..." He goes over "Hey Tsukauchi... Why didn't you call me...? It's the stone girl again right?"

The Detective looks "Eraser? Uhh... Yeah you weren't called, why are you here?"

"Seeing as I'm the only one that can deal with her Quirk, ten years ago I had your I.T department set up a program to contact me if her name came up in a case..."

"Right... Well you're professional services aren't needed this time... We really don't wanna unpetrify this one" He scratches the back of his head awkwardly

"So somebody was turned to stone?"

"Well..." It was this moment a few forensics guys wheel a cart past with half a stone Shidō head and half a stone arm sat on it "Yyyyeah..."

Aizawa's eyes widen "Do... We know if he can be saved? Is he even still alive?"

Tsukauchi sighs... "We don't know... We were sent the relevant information but it's not much seeing as the only cure for it is her stuck under your dead eyed stare for a while... They couldn't do much testing on lab mice..."

"I see... So what's the situation...? Apart from the possible casualty..."

Tsukauchi takes out his notebook "I was about to question a witness properly, wanna be Bad Cop?"

"No..."

"Ooook then... He's over here" he leads him over to an ambulance where a battered and bruised Hitoshi is sat in the back... Hitomi is further in, sat in a daze staring at her phone..."

Aizawa eyes Hitomi and looks at Tsukauchi "She's here...?"

"Yeah... All she said was lawyer... Then kept quiet... The boy said he'd talk though..."

Hitoshi sighs "The boy can hear you... Come ask your questions already... I'm tired..."

Tsukauchi activates his Quirk "Please tell me what happened in your own words as best you can... I'll stop you if I have a question"

Aizawa stays silent and just watches both kids...

"Alright..." Hitoshi rubs his chin before beginning "Hitomi and I were cleaning the classroom at the end of the day and when we finished we played Rock, Paper, Scissors to decide who put the cleaning supplies away... I won so I headed off but I forgot something so I doubled back to the classroom..." He looks at Hitomi "Hitomi's bag was still there which I found strange so I went looking for her, I found Chiwa and her click loitering by the supply closet and asked them, they did their standard brain dead mockery of me and every aspect of my existence but eventually said Hitomi went upstairs with Shidō... So I went up looking"

Tsukauchi holds up a hand "Mr Shidō is- was- is... An educator, why go looking for them? Surely you could trust your teacher"

Hitoshi shakes his head "He was a creep... Me and Hitomi both agreed on that... And she said she NEVER wanted to be alone with him... So I was gonna go rescue her... I didn't know how right I was in that thought..."

Tsukauchi nods "I see... You're a good friend young man... Continue"

"I went up but couldn't find them until I passed an open window and heard raised voices from above... I heard Hitomi yell if he was gonna kill her... So I ran up as fast as I could... I tried the door but it wouldn't budge and then I heard her scream for him to let her go so I started yelling and pounding on the door... Once he replied I used my Quirk and told him to let her go"

This time Aizawa asks "And what is your Quirk...?"

Hitoshi looks at him and they have a small dead eyed staring contest before he answers "It's called [Brainwashing]... It allows me to control anyone who replies to my words... Pretty Villanous eh...?" He stares at the Pro. As if challenging his unspoken opinion

Aizawa raises an eyebrow 'Pretty useful for a Hero too...'

Tsukauchi interjects "What are the release conditions for your Quirk?"

"If I release them or they're jarred or bumped... That wakes them up"

"So how was Mr Shidō released?"

"I don't know but I felt the loss of control pretty soon after gaining it... Then I heard Hitomi yell again so I grabbed a fire extinguisher and started smashing the crap out of the door... I got it open and saw Hitomi frozen with Shidō hugging her from behind..." He clenches his fist! "He looked confused for some reason but I used that as a chance to charge... He threw Hitomi to the ground and I threw the fire extinguisher at him... I kept talking trying to use my Quirk but he kept quiet... So I fought hand to hand..."

Aizawa holds up a hand "You fought on par with a grown adult...?"

"Not really on par... He got hold of me quick and ordered me to stop talking..."

Tsukauchi again "Ordered you to stop?"

"Yeah... He seemed to have a similar Quirk to mine... Except those he used his on remained self aware..."

Both Tsukauchi and Aizawa glance at Hitomi... Finding it pretty clear why the man brought the poor girl to the secluded rooftop... "I see... Continue..."

"We fought some more... I got a few good hits in... But he eventually got hold of me and made me stop moving..." he sighs... "He was furious I'd hurt and insulted him... So he was going to..." He stops talking...

Tsukauchi gently clears his throat "Mr Shinso...?"

"Sorry... He was going to... Make me jump off the roof..."

Both adults are startled by this! Imagining what the poor boy went through in those moments...

"He asked for my last words... So he allowed me to speak... But he made a mistake... He ordered me not to use my Quirk on HIM... So I used it on Hitomi instead and gave her back her movement..."

Aizawa nods "Impressive you noticed the flaw..."

"Thanks... So Hitomi charged him and he must have looked into her eyes as she did... She shoved him and he fell over the railing... We heard the impact... The scream..." He sighs and runs a hand through his hair... "The adrenaline kinda left me then... The next thing I remember is the Police coming onto the roof and cuffing us..."

Aizawa looks at Tsukauchi "They were arrested...?"

"The responding officers obviously didn't know the full story... Once I got here I asked these two for a quick explanation and Mr Shinso provided a few helpful words in their defence..."

"I see... So if their innocence is mostly succured why isn't Miss Sekizō saying anything...? She doesn't need a lawyer..."

Tsukauchi sighs... "That I don't know... She just keeps staring at her phone... I've tried speaking with her but I get very little response..."

Hitoshi leans backwards closer to Hitomi and looks at her phone... Then quickly snatches it from her hand and stares at the screen!

Tsukauchi frowns... "Mr Shinso...?"

Hitoshi gulps and slowly turns the phone to show them... It's a local news site and the top story...

Aizawa reads aloud "Local Student murders well known Educator..."

The three males look to the lone girl sat in the ambulance... As a tear leaks out from under the bandages covering her eyes...
