4 Chapter 4 : Life is Good

"—up again!" He didn't catch the end of Jester's sentence before his vision became blurry and his surroundings confusing.

He didn't know where he was but he couldn't even try to open his eyes, more like he tried but it was impossible, as if there was an invisible force stopping him.

Fortunately after some time it seemed to stop. He was still in a sort of lethargic state, but he slowly recovered his senses. He first felt the wind hitting his 'skin', the temperature outside was quite moderate too. He tried to move but couldn't yet, so he decided to stay there.

'Mmh? I feel a rugged surface under me.… anyway I should just stay here until I recover completely and wake up by then.' Was his last thought before succumbing to sleep.

******

Japan, Aichi prefecture, outskirts of Nagoya.

A calm night of October, when kids were already asleep, the main avenue linking the outskirts to the center of the city was pretty much empty. There weren't cars at all, and only the sound of the wind moving the leaves could be heard.

The avenue was quite large, 2 traffic lanes on each side, with rows of aligned trees. It was very clean, and even during the night, thanks to the street lamps' light, the scene looked quite pure.

Some might say that this cleanliness was what typically made Japan, well Japan.

While Nagoya was quite active even during the night, it was the opposite in the outskirts. Very few people would be outside at this hour, they would be more prone to stay in their houses instead or at places more frequented by other people.

All of a sudden a cat's meow broke the peacefulness of the scenery.

"Miaw..."

Victor blinked. 'Miaw?' He frowned internally. 'What was that? I swear I heard a cat…'

'Anyway, that was such a long nap, but it felt good.' Victor, still not aware of his surroundings, moved instinctively from the place he was resting, but he wasn't yet ready for what was bound to happen.

All this happened in a few seconds, he first opened his eyes, and then saw a nice looking avenue from a higher point of view, clearly higher than what he was used to. Just at the moment he noticed he was on a branch of a tree, he lost his equilibrium and fell down.

'Ah shi—! Wait why the f*ck is my leg covered in fur?!' As Victor was falling down he finally became fully aware of the situation.

'Don't tell me….F*CK! The ground!'

Another meow was heard before Victor was able to land safely. 'So a cat always landing on its feet wasn't just a myth, I see…'

'Wait! Wait! How am I a ca—? Oh no…' Victor freaked out.

After a short silence as he cursed Jester in his mind, Victor growled. '...So that's what Jester meant by 'don't be surprised huh?'

'This must be one of the ways they found to get around Yoruichi's power… With that quirk thingy? Anyway I hope I won't be a cat all my life.' The cat, Victor, still immobile on the shoulder of the road, thought busily.

'What do I do now? I don't even know where I am, and the buildings seem better than those of my world… Wait they couldn't have me reincarnated in a futuristic world like Star Wars right?' Sweatdropped Victor.

'All this shit is crazy, I'm tired of thinking so much, I'll just walk around and go along with whatever comes before me.' Victor sighed simply.

'And it looks like I still have my memories, I don't know how to describe it, I just need to think about them to remember, and… Oh right Yoruichi's memories… I'll have to look at that later.' The little cat dismissively shook his head.

'Anyway first thing first, it looks like even my cat body is in its baby phase… Mmmh black fur? Practical at night…I should look for information first, that's the most important.' He looked around and decided to continue on the avenue.

*Clang Tchang* (A/N: Metal noises)

Or that's what he would've liked to do before he heard a metallic sound. Victor snapped his head in the direction of the noise and 2 pairs of eyes met each other, or it would be more correct to say that his eyes only met one as the other eye was incapacitated.

****

A few moments before.

"Finally…"

A content sigh flew throughout the sewers under Nagoya.

"Ahahah! I finally made it out! I finally escaped those fools' clutches! Ahahaha! Their faces when I destroyed the lab! Ahahah!" The sadistic and mirthful laugh continued to resonate.

"Starting from now I'm a new Mouse! I'll be called Nezu, I don't need those stupid numbers to know who I am!" Under the euphoria of his escape Nezu started to undress his lab coat, making it fall into the flowing water in the middle of the sewer.

The cloth, numbered '069', could be seen drifting further and further away while Nezu's laugh was still echoing.

"Anyway I should get out of this, it stinks a lot."

Nezu started to run trying to find the exit of the sewer, his head full of thoughts for the future, and what liberty entails for him now.

'Nice!' He could see the exit, a metallic manhole cover was right up there at the end of the stairs.

He quickly hacked the panel to open the cover. 'Heh pretty easy, I guess this should be the only thing I would ever be thankful for.' Nezu drifted to gloomy thoughts again.

'Ahem, let's go outside, a breath of fresh air could help me change my mind.'

Just then the cover opened, making some noise. Nezu stepped outside and came face to face with a jet black kitten adorned with a pair of bright golden eyes shining like jewels in the night.

'...'

'Why is fate playing such tricks on me? Of all the animals or people I could ever meet after finally getting out, it had to be a cat??!' Nezu thought nervously.

The little kitten glanced back at him too, it seemed pretty confused and lost. 'Huh? A walking rat with a scar? They didn't tell me that even animals had super powers too, no wait, 'Quirks', yeah that's what they call it… Ah nevermind I'm an animal too now…' The little kitten, who was Victor obviously, calmly approached the 'walking rat'.

Meanwhile, Nezu was pretty confused too. 'This isn't the reaction a cat should have when meeting a mouse… Is it, no he, the same as me?'

Seeing the little kitten approaching him with steady steps, Nezu was very close to confirming his theory. 'Indeed, he seems to be smarter than his feline peers at least.'

"*Cough* Hello dear friend." Politely saluted Nezu.

That made Victor stop in his tracks completely. 'It can talk too now?! Sh*t is amazing!'

While being under Nezu's scrutinizing gaze, Victor resumed his tracks. 'Should I answer him back? Mmmh… No, I know nothing of this world to begin with, let's just pretend to be a normal cat.'

Victor stopped 1 meter before Nezu, their eyes were almost at the same level, the little kitten observed the standing mouse, just as it was glancing back at him.

"Miaw." Meowed Victor. 'F*ck! This was embarrassing, I should really go before I further embarrass myself, or worse it becomes suspicious of me.'

"Um? Aren't you a weird little kitten... ?" Asked Nezu.

'I can't understand him, but I feel like he insulted me.' Victor sneered in his mind.

"Miaouw." 'Please go away already.' Cringed Victor.

"So you can't talk huh? Am I the only one here being able to?"

"Meow."

"I guess so…" Suspiciously nodded Nezu.

He then observed his surroundings.

"Prefecture of Aichi, Nagoya if my memory is right, guess I'm pretty far from Tokyo." Said Nezu with an aloof tone.

Victor's cat ears perked up at that, a gesture that Nezu's eyes didn't miss. 'Tokyo? So I am in Japan, I see that's why I couldn't recognize the architecture of the buildings nor the language.'

"Miouw." Victor continued his act.

"You think so too? Anyway I should get moving, little kitten, it's already late at night." Nezu started to go. 'This cat tried to fool me, I don't know why he didn't talk back though, anyway it's not important but I'm pretty sure he's hiding something.'

Victor, seeing him leaving slowly, decided to go back too, and cross the street. 'I hope he didn't see through me… *Sigh*... They didn't teach me how to act like a cat in my time.' sighed Victor while walking away.

But just as he was lost in his thoughts he felt the ground shaking under his paws. 'Um? What's this?'

Just then, in the middle of the night, he thought that the sun rose. A bright light could be seen approaching him very fast, blinding his sight.

*Screeeech*

But suddenly the drifting noise of a car's tires was be heard by Victor.

'Ah shit it was a car!? Wait, what type of car is this thing? Damn so long!'

He then saw the car, a limousine, coming to a stop just a few meters before him, when it completely stopped he saw the front door opening.

A tall man came out of it, he looked like a personal driver, judging by the way he was dressed. His face was Asian, which further confirmed Victor's idea of being in Japan.

"Madam, it was a kitten crossing the street." Said the driver.

An excited female voice answered the man. "Dear God, I hope you didn't hurt him Kunishe!"

"No worries, Madam." Flatly said Kunishe, the driver.

Meanwhile Victor stayed there, looking at the situation unfolding before his eyes. While he didn't understand Japanese, he could clearly understand that the people before him were loaded, just by seeing the limousine.

He saw the driver going at the back of the car opening the door, as a voluptuous woman came out of it. If Victor had to be honest, she rivaled the milf Louisa in his previous life.

Though this woman lacked the milf appeal, she looked quite young after all. She had everything else for her, long, straight and glossy black hair that shone even in the night. A pair of round and big black eyes, also typical of a Japanese.

But what stood out the most to Victor was the size of her breasts, coupled with her hourglass figure, that only amplified her sexiness. He really wondered how the driver could stay this calm, in a car with her.

"Here, please Madam." Kunishe opened the door to his boss.

"Thanks, so where's the little kitten you— Oh here you are, Sweetie!" The woman locked her eyes with Victor, grinning excitedly.

She started approaching, and brought Victor in her arms, hugging his small body to her breasts. Victor hadn't moved from the start, but when the woman grabbed him, his mind started racing: 'Just imagine, she takes me with her... Money is the first step to good information! Aight let's just pray, ain't no way in hell I'm acting cute for a woman.'

The woman continued to rub the little cat back, and from an outsider point of view, people could confuse her face, which was melting from pleasure for something else.

"Meow."

Translation: 'Damn woman! She knows which spots to rub with her hands!'

"Awwwn, if you aren't the cutest kitten I ever saw!" Said the woman after hearing him, profoundly gazing into his golden eyes.

"Alright Kunishe! Call my husband this instant and tell him to prepare a room for our new addition to the family! I'm adopting this little guy, I just can't resist this cuteness!" She declared proudly.

"As you wish, Madam." Nodded the driver, seemingly used to his Madam caprices and antics.

'Damn what did she say?! It sounded like something good, I shouldn't move from her embrace though. Yeah that's right, let's just follow along and see where this goes.'

The Madam still hugging Victor got back in her car and asked her driver to bring them back home, all the while embracing, petting and caressing Victor, who started slowly to succumb to his feline instincts.

Kunishe got back in his driving seat, and started the limousine again.

*Screeech*

The tires drifted again a little bit before the car got further away from its initial position.

*****

All this little accident scene was seen by a small animal's eyes hiding in a building.

"I guess I was right, it was a good idea to hide." Nezu thought out loud.

"This little guy was far from being normal, I could feel it, and the rich Yaoyorozus huh? I hope he's being taken care of by them for now."

Even if Nezu had a sadistic side in himself, it was only shown toward humans or during fights. In the end, and maybe thanks to his intellect, he was a caring fellow, to his juniors, and even more so with his animal peers.

"Anyway with the Yaoyorozus you could live an Egyptian cat life, heh." Nezu continued, shaking his head with a smile on his face.

*Sigh*

"Instead of worrying for others, I should worry about my situation..." Nezu stood up from the ground, his back straightening.

"I should get going and reach Tokyo soon!" Grinning lightly, Nezu then exited the building.
