4 Right Or Wrong? Don't Care At All

"You have something to ask?"

Sensing the hesitation on her face, I threw out that question.

".... Don't you find.... me strange, Anzai-san?"

She decided to test the waters. This question would tell whether she actually should drink his blood or not?

***

Stopping her feet, she bowed her head and stood still on her spot. There was a desire in her heart..... To be accepted. Maybe a normal boy could never accept her but Masato was anything but normal.

It took only one meeting for Himiko to be sure of that.

"Ha~"

I sighed as Himiko's hands shook in desparation and despair. My sigh seemed to be filled with disgust to her. It sounded as disapproval and hate.

"Of course, you're strange, Kid 2. No matter what happens, that won't change."

Clenching her fists, she belatedly realized that her eyes were filled with tears.

Was she destined to never be accepted? If so, then what could she do? Destroy the world that rejected her? The world that preyed on the weak? Or reveal the true form of the world to others?

"But you're not a bad person. Not unless you drink blood with the intention of harming others."

... Himiko's heart stopped for a moment as she raised her head.

- Tak!

"Ow!"

She crouched and held her head as a finger just flicked her forehead. And it wasn't a weak hit either. It almost cracked her skull.

'Damn, forgot to control my strength. Anyway, let's keep ad-libbing so that no one notices my mistake.'

"So you should only cry when you're hurt, Kid 2. And after you finish crying, make sure to hit back!"

Whether you're wrong or right, it doesn't matter. For me, only death felt right. As for others, did I even care about others?

"Drinking another's blood isn't wrong. But you must have consent first. I mean there are stranger things in the world, like BDSM, Shotacons, etc. Consent makes it all right..... probably."

Even pedophiles were acceptable to a limit. That is, as long as they didn't touch or stalk an underaged kid. For example, that snake-like ninja who kept changing bodies, like they were clothes.

That guy even became the good guy in the end.

'Though I can never get along with guys who love immortality. Damn blasphemers.'

"R-really, Anzai-san? You mean it!?"

With hope anew, Himiko glanced up, ignoring the pain from the red mark on her forehead.

"Yeah, for one, I will allow you to drink my blood so be grateful. Hmph!"

After a short consideration, I magnanimously gave her my permission. This must be the reason why the system gave out [Blood Recovery] reward, after all.

'Wait, wouldn't I be harder to kill with [Blood Reco-]. Nah, I don't think anyone can survive all 8 Gates. And I do need to live until I fight AFO.'

Nodding inwardly, I raised my hand towards Himiko.

"Let's be good friends, Kid 2."

".... Can I have a bite?"

With an innocent gleam in her eyes, she looked scarier than my 'angry-mode' mom while asking that question.

Maybe it was her own way of showing her affection. A strange and scary way.

"....."

Maybe I should be a bit concerned.

Certain that a single bite wouldn't kill me, I pulled back my sleeves, creating some distance between my clothes and the black bracelets that I wore and signalled her to take a bite.

'I want to see if her teeth can penetrate my sk-OW!'

- Glomp!

Of course, her teeth could bite through skin. She didn't even show the psychological hesitation that humans have and my skin wasn't hard enough to rival a rock.

'Note to self, training doesn't make skin harder than rocks.'

- Chuu!

With a sucking sound, she kept drinking the blood with a teary expression. It was a mix of joy, regret and relief.

For the first time, she felt like she was sharing her love with others. She didn't want anybody to understand her. Her desire was to understand others. To get close and become them.

To be friends, simple but difficult to do as she was different from others.

'Just how hungry was she? Look at her drink all that blood. Wait, what even is her quirk?'

Her face changed to match mine as if to answer my thoughts.

'Transformation? Wait, wasn't there a character that drank blood and changed into someone else? Is it this kid? Wow, my luck sucks~'

None of the thoughts even mattered as something wet dripped down the cheeks of the girl.

"Bhank Kyuu!"

With a bloody smile, she showed the purity of a kid.

'It would look a lot better if you weren't biting me. With my own face.'

I chided her mentally while nodding indifferently.

Well, it wasn't that bad to have a pet.

Yeah, what else would I do with a kid like her? Answer is, keep her as a pet. She will be one of the guys to remember my death, making me immortal.

Will it be sad for her to watch me die? Yes, but I don't care. She's only a means to an end.

After a few seconds, her 'feast' ended. She was being considerate, not to drink a lot of blood and harm me.

- Pwah!

Leaving only bite marks and flesh wounds on my right arm, she pulled back and wiped her face in ecstasy.

That's how we sealed the deal and became friends.

- Ding!

[Would you like to collect your rewards?]

'Yes!'

A strange warmth flowed through my body as the rewards were paid. The training module was automatically shifted into the inventory while the skill was used on myself.

'System, give me an accurate explanation of [Blood Recovery]!'

That sounded like an arrogant young master, didn't it?

[Blood Recovery: Rank C/Passive

Details: As long as one has enough nutrients, red blood cells and platelets can be generated infinitely. It doesn't include white blood cells. Recovery of blood cells drains stamina!

Note: Recovery of blood doesn't directly aid in wound recovery!]

'Great, so I can be an endless blood pack for Kid 2!'

Another brilliant fact was that it wasn't actually a healing skill. Makes it easier to die without one. Not that any regeneration skill could match 'Hachimon Tonkou'.

"By the way, you should carry a first aid kit with you from now on, Kid 2."

"Why?"

I glanced down at my bleeding arm. Do I have to keep roaming like this, bleeding and unattended?

"Oh!"

Perhaps she understood the meaning, she looked a bit bitter. She really hoped that I would keep walking with my 'pretty' blood leaking.

"I'm sorry that I hurt you."

"Like I said, I gave consent so it's not your fault. Just carry a kit from tomorrow on."

"Huh?"

Was it just me or did this kid not understand words?

"Why? Do you not want to drink blood tomorrow?"

Honestly, depeletion and recreation of blood can help me train my body better. Maybe it would be harmful to normal humans, but [Blood Recovery] gave me an advantage. And that was all that I needed.

"Can I suck your blood again?"

There was a strange glint in her golden eyes as she beamed up.

"Well, we're friends so you can. And pain doesn't really phase me anymore. You can drink my blood anytime unless I'm pissed at something."

"Really, really?"

Happy about it, she kept nodding her head.

".... What are you, a kid?.... No wonder I call you a kid, Kid 2!"

That just clicked in my mind. Wasn't I a genius?

After a bad patch-up work on my arm, we walked towards the front gate in silence. Somehow, it didn't seem that awkward anymore.

Maybe it had something to do with Himiko humming all the way over. Was it because she had a new friend? Or because someone wasn't disgusted with her way of showing affection?

"See you tomorrow!"

"Ou!"

She waved me good-bye while I just acknowledged the farewell. It was strange to look at my doppleganger leave. Not that I cared. Just a bit weird.

"Should I run towards to my part-time job? Maybe running on my hands would.... Nah, I would bleed."

Just because I could recover my blood easily didn't mean that the wounds would heal any faster. It would increase the healing speed slightly but there wouldn't be any great changes.

"Wait...."

Why were my hands empty? Didn't I enter school to bring something?

'My bag!'

"Damn you, KAITO!!!!"

Ha~ Pushing the blame on an innocent never felt so good.

***

"Achoo!"

Kaito sneezed after reaching his huge mansion, that could easily house Gigantomachia. It was worthy of the Kurasaki family, known for their businesses in medicine.

"Are you feeling sick, Young Master?"

Robert, his head butler, asked in a worried tone. It was strange for a foreigner to work in another country, especially as a butler. But he had been one for the past 40 years.

"No, I guess someone was just remembering me."

"Then it must have been a pretty lady, thinking about you, Young Master."

Kaito glanced at Robert, who was flattering him and shook his head.

'Don't jinx it, Robert.'

How he wished that it was girl who remembered him.

"I think it's probably Masato."

Sadly, he knew the truth. He was the most handsome guy in school but also a bit too far because of his mature presence. So not many kids were around him, often comparing him to an adult.

Entering the huge mansion, Kaito felt a sense of estrangement. Lost in a place that didn't belong to him.

"And prepare a suit for Masato."

"Is it for the party?"

- Nod!

With a simple gesture, Robert understood his master's mood and walked away. He was a strange foreigner but a trustworthy one.

"Ha~"

There was another reason why Kaito decided to befriend Masato. They seemed to be made from the same material.

Both were orphans, though one was rich and the other was in an orphanage. Both of them were different and special in their own ways. Both of them had the goal to become a hero while one wanted to die, the other only wanted to follow his parents.

And most of all, they were..... empty.

Abandoned before they were properly built. Not broken yet not complete.

It was a manufacturing defect, one could say.

"Man, I'm bored."

Yet his smile never left his lips. No wonder people who messed with the boy, never ended well. All except one.

"I wish we were brothers...."

Not by bonds but by blood. Since they were both too egotistical to even consider each other family, unless they were forced by the world.

"Nah, you would still be the same."

Masato wasn't one to be pushed around by the world. Maybe only an extra-terrestrial system, that granted quests, would do the job.
