5 Party Time (1)

"Hey, do I look okay?"

Fiddling with my bowtie, I glanced at the boy sitting in front of me.

The limousine had only three people, me, Kaito and the driver.

"It's fine. Stop fretting over it."

Kaito clicked his tongue and shook his head.

"Oi, at least try and keep your fake persona, will you?"

"Shut up. I wouldn't have took you as my Plus One if I had to be careful around you too."

For a peculiar reason, he was more irritated than usual.

Otherwise, he would act like a goody two-shoes, even in front of me.

Was it because this charity gala or event was being held for his parents, who died a heroic death, fighting a villain till their last breath? No, he would be sad and not angry if that was the reason.

'Ah~ I don't care anymore.'

".... I see."

It was better not to mess with an already angry person. As they were the most irrational kind after the love-blind fools.

"By the way, I heard you got a new friend. Toga Himiko from class 1-D?"

"Yeah."

Well, that was a short and awkward conversation.

I would have rather spent my time working out but the temptation of free food and custom-made training equipments was too much.

Even the black bracelets on my arms and legs were given by him as a birthday gift. Each of them weighed around 5 kg.

Apparently, there's a quirk that can add mass to other things. These weights do decrease agility but also slightly boost attack power as it increases the mass of my body.

After all, Mass * Accerlation = Force.

The trip to the party was going to be a boring one.... Thankfully, there were some dumbbells in the minifridge.

Why were there weights in the minifridge? Well, this wasn't the first time I rode this limousine.

"Tch! Did you just keep your dumbbells in my minifridge?"

Was he pissed that I kept weights in the minifridge? Or was it about keeping them in HIS minifridge?

"Sorry~"

Waving my hands indifferently, I started doing my reps.

A healthy death is only possible with a healthy body.

"Musclehead."

Cursing me under his breath, Kaito looked away.

'And here, I was going to give him the [Personalized Training Module]! Hmph, ungrateful brat!'

There were two [Personalized Training Modules] and only one was sufficient for an entire life.

'Should I give it to 'Kid 2'?'

But somehow, I could imagine her beating me up, to make me look 'pretty'. And then continue on by drinking my blood.

.... Yep, it was better if she wasn't strong enough to beat me so I would rather not give anything to her that can make her strong. Not that 'Hachimon Tonkou' can be defeated.

'Now that I think about it, isn't my entire confidence based on that single technique? Sure, it's a great technique but....'

"I really need to get some fighting technique."

- Stare!

"Why are you saying that loud? Don't look at me like that. I'm not going to do anything for you!"

Catching my covert gaze, Kaito denied any and all requests.

"Tch, cheapskate!"

"Are you for real!?"

"Cheapskate!"

"Now, you're this close to pissing me off!"

Leaving only a miniscule amount of space between his index and thumb, he glared at me. He was already pissed.

Sadly, I wasn't one to run away from challenges.

I grabbed his fingers and pushed it together.

"Cheapskate~"

"You!"

Jumping up from his seat, he tried to fight me.

He was older by a few months while I was stronger. We brawled for a while, fully knowing the result of the fight.

My victory and his defeat were already written in stone.... Unless he used his quirk [Target].

- Bzzt!

Surprisingly, instead of a quirk, he pulled out a tazer.

"You madman! Who the hell pulls out a tazer in a friendly fight?"

"You would do the same!"

He raised his eyebrows as if demanding an honest answer.

'Sure, I would love to pull out a tazer but I wasn't rich. So tazers were cheating.'

"I would never!"

"Liar!"

"You liar!"

"No, you!"

"No, you!"

- Brrrzzt!

"Okay, okay, I'm the liar!"

Tazers were scary. I have been hit once.... Maybe thrice. This wasn't the first time Kaito pulled out a tazer on me. Using his quirk was overkill and he seemed to hate his quirk for some reason too.

"Be grateful that I didn't use my quirk or you wouldn't even get the chance to use the tazer."

I declared proudly.

"You're quirkless."

He retorted, knowing the full extent of my abilities.

"My 'Hachimon Tonkou' is like a quirk."

"..... Fair enough."

He also knew that I had a technique that far surpassed most quirks. He even helped me register it as a quirk. Using the power of sweet, sweet money.

Though his [Target] was better in every possible way.... For now.

[Target]: A quirk that makes sure that an attack always hits the intended target. It can even strengthen the attack to some extent.

Perfect for a sniper. An assassin. And a hitman.

And the way those words were phrased made it, something that even the current me couldn't beat.

"We're here, Young Master."

The butler ignored our 'dispute' and spoke professionally.

"Ahem!"

"Ahem!"

We both looked at each other, embarrassed by the butler's words.

We were supposed to head to a party but ended up fighting. Who would imagine me to be an adult?

Needlessly crumpling our perfect suits, we had to straighten them again.

"It's your fault."

"... I'm not doing this anymore."

'Now, I seem like a petty person.'

Perhaps he noticed those thoughts because he had a victory smirk on his face.

I didn't lose but I definitely felt like I lost.

"Let's go."

There was a huge mansion after the huge gates. White lights covered the entire building while a few people kept entering and exiting the avenue.

It was a gathering of all high-class people.

No wonder Kaito was angry.

For this place was filled with ugly, middle-aged men. Where were the cute cheerleaders? With their long legs?

And most of all, there were a lot of quirk users around.

I saw a blind man dodge a marble pillar before acting blind again.

'Crazy~'

"Make sure not to embarrass me."

"Yes~ Oka-san~"

Veins popped up on Kaito's forehead but he held it in with his characteristic smile.

Entering the huge mansion, one could find a huge chandelier, which automatically attracted everyone's attention.

"Amazing, isn't it?"

Why was Kaito speaking to me, like I was a barbarian visiting civilization for the first time?

"I have a better one back home. Mom says that it's an antique. So it can probably buy this hou-mansio-castle or whatever this place is called."

"You live in an orphanage."

"... That doesn't mean we can't have chandeliers."

There was always the option of hanging a few kids on the ceiling.

"I was talking about the 'mom' part. And do you even like chandeliers?"

"No!"

That part was clear. There was no way of having peace while knowing that the electricity bill will kill you.

That wasn't a great death. Just a dumb one.

"Let's go."

Although the chandelier was amazing, it was still not the main part of the party.

Better than everything in this place, the main attraction of this party was there. Standing in plain sight.

No, not the national idols, who were giving out autographs but the food. Free food.

"Stay-"

Before Kaito could give an order, I walked towards the food. I knew my part in this place and that was to finish the food before anyone could touch it.

With a wide variety of meat, salads and deserts, the food corner was easily the most important place in this huge hous-mansio-castle-thing or whatever this place was called.

"A bit of this, a bit of that, all of this and all of that too!"

Humming to myself, I kept picking up food.

"Are you even going to eat all of that?"

A feminine, cold voice questioned me.

"Watch me."

I snorted at the foolish question before devouring the proteins.

"You're really going to eat all of that?"

The voice was quite irritating. Didn't she know that one shouldn't disturb an eating person?

But it would be bad manners to reply while eating so there was no need to answer her inquiry.

"Who did you come with?"

Was she doubting the legitimacy of my invitation?

I coldly glanced over.

It was a young girl with black hair. One part of that hair fell over her face while the other was shaped like a porcupine behind her shoulders. Her onyx-colored eyes were scrutinizing and completely clear.

Her red dress was quite alluring for a middle schooler but it suited her well. Her head was held up high, filled with pride.

She looked like the textbook example of a strict noble.

'She's a bit familiar.'

"Who are you?"

Stopping my hand from picking up the cheese cake, I questioned her identity.

"I asked first."

"I am Anzai Masato, the 'Plus One' of Kaito."

"Who's Kaito?"

'What was his last name again? Let's change the topic to buy time.'

"Nope, it's your turn to answer the question."

'You didn't clearly answer the question but it was a mistake on my part, unable to communicate it properly.'

Momo grumbled under her breath. Something about being tricked by the sinister boy.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Yaoyorozu Momo."

She bowed her head slightly.

Yaoyorozu Momo, the supporting cast of MHA?

This was a big fish. And she fell directly into my lap. Not that I care one bit.

"I don't know his last name but it's that guy there."

Momo followed my finger and nodded at the man she found.

She seemed to be well-informed about Kaito.

"I see, so you're with Kurasaki-san, Anzai-san."

"Yep."

"It's strange that you don't even know the last name of your.... Um...."

"Friend. He's my friend."

It was better to explain things to girls or they would make silly assumptions on their own. There was already a fan club in our school, supporting our 'forbidden' relation.

'Just so you know, I'm not interested in love, much less in Kaito. Death is my only lover!'

That was a cool thought.

"My turn."

"Huh?"

Were all the girls so easily confused?

Momo tilted her head, not understanding my words.

"You asked a question, I asked a question, then you went again and now, it's my turn."

"Oh! We were still doing that."

She was baffled that the 'game' was still going on.

"You asked 2 questions. I only asked 1. It wouldn't be fair to end it here, would it?"

Gripping her chin, she thought hard about it. However, was it really that necessary to think about it?

"Fine, you may ask me any question, other than my secrets."

There was no way I would ask her about any secrets anyway.

"Why did you talk to me?"

"Oh, I found it amusing for you to eat so much. Is it related to your quirk?"

As if a light bulb clicked over her head, she remembered her original goal, for which she walked over here.
