Chapter 2 - Tests & Training.

"Ugh…" I passed out earlier, and now that I'm waking up, I wish I was still unconscious. A searing headache as soon as you wake up is never something invited. Sitting up, and ignoring the strands of pink laying in front of my eyes, I looked around for the one responsible for my previous hours of torture.

"Oh, calm down. It was barely even ten minutes of pain. Though, you should be thanking me. It is what you wanted after all."

After hearing her voice for the first time after waking up compared to when I died… It wasn't as pleasant anymore. The constant mind reading didn't help either. Kind of annoying how I don't need to talk anymore.

Well, I guess that's actually a good thing. I hate talking a lot.

"...Ugh, whatever. You have a point but I did want the powers without having to go through that pain… That was worse than anything that had ever happened to me back when I was alive." I replied, standing up.

Much to my surprise, I wasn't sore or aching. Infact, I felt better than ever. My muscles were full of power and seemed to be overflowing with energy. Though nothing huge happened to my skinny physique. I'm more or less lean, a little skinnier but lean.

"Haha, well… It was needed. You requested something of me and I needed something in return… Think of it as a Trial of Power." A sweet smile on her face as she said this bullshit to me. Sighing, I decided it was best to move on with the testing of my powers. As much as I would love to continue talking with her, It's not in my best interest to do so.

Feel like I'd end up having to go through one of these trials again.

"I'd rather not think of it that way… It was more so you just giving me unnecessary pain after my already painful death. Are you perhaps a… Sadist or something? I won't judge." I joke, chuckling as I hop on my toes, stretching my arms all the while.

The Goddess chuckled along before she summoned herself a rocking chair made of the damn clouds.

'Man I want one…' I groaned internally. However, I really wanted to leave this place and continue on with my new life, but first, I wanna cash in on my request.

Surely she wont object.

"Remember that request I mentioned earlier?" I asked, making my way towards her. She nodded her head slowly in response as she let out a breath of air and relaxed within her chair.

"What about it? Ready to cash in?" She queried. Nodding, I stepped aside and watched as she sighed once again and flicked her wrist.

The once cloud-like plain dispersed into nothingness, going back to the previous void before once again changing.

What took its place was a city, much like New York in my world but with a lot more versatile things I could use to practice my web swinging.

"Mind reading sure is handy…" I muttered as quickly as I thanked the Goddess and after being waved off like a little kid, I ran into the city to begin my practice of powers.

7 MONTHS LATER

So, first off.

Webs.

Mine are organic, just like Toby McGuire version. White in color, really resilient and strong. Sticky as hell too.

Next is wall climbing and equilibrium. Just like any other spider-person, I can stick to all kinds of surfaces except for liquid, gas or anything of the like. Along with this wall walking ability came the natural ability to not get thrown off by the sudden switch in gravity.

Meaning no matter what surface I walk on, it will all feel normal.

Now, my tingle.

I don't know how strong it is because I haven't got that far yet. These last few months I've been in the domain have been full of nothing but testing the basics of my abilities. I haven't started on my martial arts yet since I want to make sure I have perfected the basics first.

After all, the starting point is the most important.

It would be easier if I just list my abilities, so… I'll just do that. I'll just mark off everything I've known I've tested.

Releasing a string of web from my wrist, it connected to a nearby building and allowed me to swing. The feeling of the air rushing against my face is amazing, it makes me feel alive. Plus my new found dexterity allowed for me to do some acrobatic flips and parkour. Making it all the more fun.

'I could do this all day… Though…' My thoughts trailed off as I landed on the tallest building in this created city, the Empire State building. My gaze wondered for a bit before it landed on a certain Goddess, still sleeping in her chair.

'I doubt she'd let me stay here for much longer.' Sighing, I hopped off the building with a flip and landed on the closest one. The roof was layered with gravel, working as a great place for me to start my listing.

'Okay, let's start with this…'

-Organic Webs.

-Camouflage.

-Spider Sense.

-Control Over Spiders.

-Regeneration.

-Immense Physical Strength.

-Immense Durability.

That's basically about it. The physical strength she gave me is a lot more than the original spiders, but I don't mind. Why would I?

It's all about strength and having it is better than not having it at all.

Swinging over to the Goddess, making sure I took my time. I landed in front of her with soft steps and reached to tap her, but before my hand even reached her knee, she spoke.

"Hmm? Trying to touch an unconscious woman? Muuu, how rude of you~" She teased as her bright pink eyes stared into my own sky blue. I sucked my teeth in annoyance as I sighed and took a step back.

The Goddess smiled as she sat up in her chair, looking expectantly at me.

"I'm familiar with my abilities, now I would like to learn martial arts and practice utilizing my new senses." My request isn't hard for her to set up for me, but this is a lot for me to ask. Learning martial arts on the level of Gods is something that would be a little too overpowered if you think about it. Especially if the world I'm going to isn't even all that strong.

"Mmm, I can, but you only have a week left till you need to leave. The next soul will be arriving around that time too. Can't go having you make enemies with another reincarnate." She said with a wink, flicking her wrist for the fourth time.

The city stayed the same but what changed this time was that a new platform was added. It was a lot like the arena in Dragon-ball where Cell was fought.

Standing in the arena were two men, and two females. They were all pretty much the perfect representation of beauty and handsomeness.

Glancing back at the Goddess I thanked her one more time before setting out.

After this I'm sure I'll be prepared to face anything in my new world.
