4 Unfriendly Spar

'If this world was to be some manga, anime or sci fi novel, she'll definitely be the MC.' Jayden thought as he recalled Natalia, a talented individual that was recognised by all, she was a delicate young woman whose beauty could make any mans heart stir, but when she entered battle, she was a different person altogether, this other part of her earned her the title, Battle Maiden.

Natalia was one of Jayden's childhood friends who never left him since they were young, they looked out for each other and helped themselves when they were in need.

They grew up happily until they where forcefully separated, Natalia's parents moved to another planet to live there permanently for some reasons Jayden didn't know.

At first Natalia resisted, she didn't wish to go with them because of her friend Jayden, but eventually, she was taken away.

Since then, they have been unable to see each other physically but only through P-E-Mail (Physical-Electric-Mail) which was the letter which he held in his hands.

Jayden broke the seal and opened the letter, immediately, it broke down into countless pieces then morphed into a hologram of Natalia.

Her gray eyes, red hair and pink lips showed just how beautiful she was, Jayden was stunned by her beauty, no matter how many times he saw her, he still always gawked at her speechlessly. As jayden was still mesmerized by her beauty, the hologram began to speak.

Jayden listened to the hologram message, it lasted for about thirty five minutes, Natalia talked about how she was thriving on her own end, she didn't say anything about missing him, but Jayden knew her too well to know that she wished to be by his side, she wanted to be more than a friend to him, but Jayden hadn't realized that yet, he didn't even think about that possibility because he saw her as 'just a friend'.

It was good news to Jayden when she spoke about participating in the Interstellar Tournament. Jayden looked forward to seeing her after a long time.

As she bid him good bye, the hologram broke down into countless particles before being blown away like dust in the wind.

Jayden smiled brightly before laying down on his bed, he again began to trace invisible symbols in the air, a habit he had gotten when he was thinking.

"The Interstellar Tournament will be in three weeks, I need to get stronger before then."

"Jarvis." Saying that, his Mech Suit came up, slower that it would when pressing the red button.

It covered his while body in protective armour before his eyes began to glow brightly with white light.

"Jarvis bring up my status."

"Hmm, I need get more skills."

Jayden got up from his bed and deactivated his Mech Suit. The suit destructured and folded itself into it's dormant container form. Jayden picked it up and walked to the door

As he headed outside, he met Nate waiting by his room. He was surprised to see him there because he expected Nate to be sleeping and snoring in his room as he always did during his free time.

"Hey buddy, what up with you?" Jayden asked.

"I've been having this feeling that something bad is going to happen. I don't know what to do, so I came to you." Nate said.

Jayden blinked before answering. "I don't know what to do to help you, but a little friendly spar might do the trick and clear your mind." Jayden offered that option to his distressed friend hoping that he will take the bait and spar with him.

"I see what you're doing there bro, but it won't work." Nate said to Jayden without even thinking about his options twice. The last time they had a spar in the virtual space, he almost got traumatized as Jayden injured him mercilessly before killing him. That made him rethink if Jayden was actually his friend, but he soon remembered that that was just Jayden's other side during battle just like Natalia.

Speaking of Natalia, he asked. "Did you get a message from your girlfriend?" Nate asked teasingly.

"Yes, and she's not my girlfriend, I've told you like a thousand times, we are just friends and I don't have that kind of feelings for her." Jayden explained.

"Yeah but, have you thought about her feelings for you?" Nate threw a question he knew he wouldn't get an answer to. He had asked this question multiple times on different occasions, but he never got an answer to it.

"Let's just spar, I got this new skill and I can't wait to test it out, this time you'll be on the receiving end of the stick."

"But you said you didn't want to spar?" Jayden asked puzzled.

"Yeah, I changed my mind."

Jayden rolled his eyes and led the way to the training area hoping to best Nate again.
