“You really think you can answer for Edmund?” Darby asked out of the blue.

“I think I know a bit about how his mind works, yeah,” came Mathias’ unrepentant answer. He grinned. “I know a fair bit about how a lot of him works.”

“That’s enough.” Marching forward, Edmund grabbed Mathias’ arm, ready to drag him to his room and cuff him down if that was the only way to get his time with Darby. “Let’s go. Nobody wants you here.”

Mathias twisted out of his grasp, darting into the kitchen. “Maybe you should let the lovely Darby decide that for herself.”

“Edmund’s right.”

“Really? Did you tell him about your little dream last night?”

The immediate blaze of color high in her cheeks told Edmund that Mathias had struck a nerve. “I told you it wouldn’t happen again, and I meant it.”

Mathias looked at her through his lashes, a knowing smirk curling his mouth. “And since when does wanting to watch Edmund fuck me mean the same as fucking you myself?”
