When they pulled into her empty driveway, she laughed. “Do you realize we left my car back at Birdsong again?” she said at his curious glance.

He gave her a half-smile. “Mathias and I can go get it after he gets in.”

It reminded her of their brief exchange back at the club. Her stomach churned at the idea of Mathias going out and feeding, and the image of what he’d looked like beneath her, his eyes gleaming in silver but still him, made her pussy clench. A soft touch on her arm made Darby jump, but when she turned, Edmund was there, only inches away, stretched across the distance between them so that he loomed, luscious and large.

“I know you’re thinking of him,” he murmured. “I can smell how aroused you get when you do.”

Her cheeks flushed in shame. “I’m sorry,” she whispered.

His broad hand came up and pushed back her hair, his fingertips skimming across her cheek. “You can’t deny what you feel, Darby. It’s hardly your fault that you’re attracted to him and not me.”
