The following morning, It was as if nothing happened. Astraea was back to her usual blank, emotionless, cold state. No one could have guessed what had taken place last night. It was only Arnav who sensed something was off, maybe it was God's blessing, or maybe it was a talent he developed from watching people on the streets. Either way, it made Astraea uncomfortable the way he looked at her with such knowing, scrutinizing gaze.

She gazed back into his hazel irises but only for a second, unable to bear the cold shiver that went down her spine whenever she did. He always seemed as if he were digging up her soul for secrets she tried so hard to bury. She sometimes wondered what he dug up and what he thought of them.
