1 Chapter 1( Anywhere but here)

" How I hate the cold."

A man grumbled as he dragged his feet through the thick snow, trying to make his way home after a hard day at work.

This rather average-looking man is James. He was one of many blue-collar workers in New York, he wasn't the most outgoing person, nor was he cold and introverted he was sort of average.

Average is a word that could describe everything in James' life from his looks to his intelligence everything about him was average and he was okay with that, or at least that's what he portrayed.

He even used a catchphrase: ' Average is what you want to be.'

Whether he believed it or not, one could ever tell, but most didn't believe him, after all, who would want to be average if they had the ability to be more?

And those people would be right, James didn't want to be average, but that was exactly what he was, everything he said and did towards the contrary was a lie.

" Why couldn't the entire year be summer?" James questioned as he continued forward.

" I really hate the cold." says James.

BEEP!!!!

The sound of a horn snapped James from his muttering as he raised his head and looked forward to seeing a car speeding right at him, it didn't take him long to figure out some idiot was probably speeding and now lost control and couldn't stop.

But it didn't matter now as James quickly stepped and tried to jump out of the way, but...

His foot slipped, and he fell, hitting his head on a frozen pole to the side. As he did, his head burst open and coated the pole in his blood as he dropped to the floor.

BEEP!!!

The horn sounded again clearly the driver still couldn't stop, but it was already too late. James was already barely conscious as he saw the lights coming.

' I really hate the cold.' was his last thought as the car crashed into him, killing him instantly, as his body bent in an unnatural shape.

(James POV)

I was sure I was dead, so why am I here?

I looked around, and although I didn't have a body I could still see, where I was currently was completely divided in two.

Half freezing cold and the other half a blazing inferno, weirdly enough both sides seemed to call out to me, I didn't know what they represented or why I was here, but one thing was for sure I hated the cold.

The longer I stayed here the more it felt like I had to make a choice, and having no intention of having to ever feel the cold again I focused on the blazing inferno, and as if knowing I had made my choice it expanded infinitely consuming everything around me including myself.

Whatever pain I was expecting didn't come, the feeling was completely comfortable, it overtook me until everything went blank.....

Ahhhhh!!!

Pain, my head was killing me, which was again surprising since I should be dead, but I clearly wasn't, I looked around, and this time I seemed to be in a forest, but most shocking was I looked down and saw a body, my body.

Somehow, I had a body again, trying to ignore my headache. I looked around, not spotting anything remotely familiar to what I knew.

Left with no other option, I stood up, finally getting a clue of the kind of body I was in, a child..... I was in a child's body dressed in what could only be described as rags.

Even though I didn't fully understand the situation, it was foolish to stay here and do nothing, so I took a step or at least tried to.

A wave of pain, memories, and new information rushed into my mind and knocked me off my feet right back on the ground.

The memories and information weren't clear at first, but as they cleared up, everything around just seemed darker and more dangerous, and I had a general understanding of my situation.

I was reincarnated in the world of Game of Thrones, in the body of a boy who was abandoned by his family. He entered this forest in search of food but got lost and died of starvation.

I didn't want to be here. This world wasn't something I could adapt to, the killing, the rape, and all the other things.

The only good thing was I was given the power of the Mera-Mera no mi in this life, but seeing as I had to figure out how to use it, and develop it, it wasn't much help at the moment seeing as I was too weak and too hungry to use it properly.

With all the wars bound to happen, I would rather not be here, anywhere but here.
