1 Episode 1 - The End of Us
Her POV:
It's been 4 years since I married to the man of my life, Lucas Hwang. He's the top 1 CEO in the whole world and the Hwang family is the richest family whom own various Companies and Sister Companies in different part of the world.
Yes, I got the richest man in the world but the only thing I didn't get from his... is his heart and love.
We met during college days. I was a freshman and he's a 3rd year senior. We got the same course and club. We talked, made memories and became friends. Me being the dumbest person I can be, I fell in love with him but there is one thing I didn't expect for, I bacame friends also with his love of his life, Erin Kim. She's pretty, kind, humble and friendly girl I've met. Not even a little bit myself can compare to hers. She may doesn't have the richest me and Lucas had but she's contented for what she already has. Maybe that's the reason why Lucas fall in love with her so much. They were the perfect couple you envy for. The three of us became the BFFs. A lot of other students envies our friendship.
Not until one day, I, Yerin Lim-Hwang, ruined our friendship.
*FLASHBACK*
It was my 18th birthday when my family wants my birthday to be grand and they want to announce something. My family also is the 2nd richest family in the whole world but I didn't care about that. Of course Erin and Lucas surely be there because they're my special guest. The party started and we all had a great time.
I saw Lucas and Erin one of the table. I approached them.
"Glad you came Oppa and you too Unnie" I greeted them and gave them a hug.
"How come we won't be here? It's your special day my cutie dongsaeng" Erin said while slightly pinching my chubby cheeks. We giggled.
"Uhm...Yerin...I kinda have a gift for you... but I'm embarassed for it because I can't compare to the gift you received earlier. I'm...theirs are quite expensive. Mine's cheap." I saw in her eyes she worked hard for the gift she made for me but hesitates to gift it to me.
"Unnie...You've prepared a gift just for me?? Where is it? Give it to me! I'll gladly accept your gift~" My eyes sparkled as I heared said that. I reached out my two hands and waited for her to reach the gift she had for me. It takes few seconds when she handed it to me. I open it immediately and was in awe when I saw it.
Inside was an album of the three of us and a simple silver bracelet with a butterfly charm covered in small diamonds.
"Why are you crying? Don't cry... You'll look ugly after crying because you ruined your make up." Lucas asked while slightly laughing at me.
I didn't notice my tears was falling so I wiped it off and tried not to cry again. I slightly punched Lucas oppa for teasing me.
A few minutes after chatting with them I saw my grandfather, Mr. Lim the founder and the current Chairman of Lim Corporation that was based overseas, was on the stage holding a mic to his right hand and a glass of wine to the other. All of the visitors and guest's gaze is fixed to his figure and waiting for what he were gonna say/announce.
"Good Evening everyone. Thank you for coming tonight for we are celebrating the debut of my precious granddaughter. May I request the presence of my precious child and Lucas Hwang to come here infront." Lucas and I exchange gaze with a puzzled face imprinted. We have no choice but to obey the command of my grandfather and be with him beside.
"Tonight is the night where my precious child turns into a lady and tonight is the perfect time to announce to everyone that this celebration is not just a birthday celebration but also an engagememt party." As I heard the word Engagement from my grandfather's mouth everyone is in shock and gasp for the news they heard. Lucas also was in shock.
"Wait... what? Who's Engagement party is this?" Lucas asked unbelievable in his eyes towards my grandfather.
"Whom you think? It's you and my precious Yerin. This will be a new age where the Hwang's and Lim's stregthens their Loyalty and Alliance. Rony, your grandfather,and I made a pact before that if one of our grands are on opposite gender, they'll be married each other and continue the legacy of Hwang-Lims Legacy of alliance and loyalty." grandfather answer.
"This can't be... I object with this pact. I have a woman that I love! Yerin and I are just friends! I treat her as a younger sister but not a woman that I want to be married with?!" Lucas sputed those word with anger. It is the truth but those word stabs my heart. Now I know HE ONLY SEES ME AS A YOUNGER SISTER/FRIEND. He turned to me and said, "Yerin! Say something! Do you know about this? You already know that I already have a woman in my life!"
I was still in shock like myself prevents me to speak. A silence were only heard they seem like waiting for my response.
"There is nothing you can do with it Lucas. This is final. The wedding will be held 3 days from now." Grandfather announcement was still a shock from all of us, specially to the three of us. How can this be? I'm happy that I'll marry the man I love but I don't want this because I witness the wonderful relationship that Erin unnie and Lucas oppa had. And I will be the one to ruin that.
"Let us all settle down and enjoy the party until its end." Grandfather ended his announcement and return to where he will be. And left me and Lucas on to the stage in shock.
"Oppa.. I... I don't kn--" Before I could explain myself, he cutted me off with anger in his eyes saying, "Yerin... I don't need any explanation coming from you. I swear on my name and existence that if this marriage has be done, keep in mind that I WILL NEVER EVER GIVE YOU ANY OUNCE OF LOVE FROM ME. I only love the most is Erin not and never will be you. From this day onwards.... our friendship... this is the end of us." then he walked out with Erin unnie. Unnie tried to stop Lucas dragging her out but she can't. They left me there confused and in pain. THIS IS THE WORST BIRTHDAY I ever had.
3 days after my birthday, we got married. But I can feel the anger and despise from Lucas. Everyone who witness the wedding was smilling except from Lucas. I tried to hide my tears and pain from everyone but still can't. In the eyes of everyone, I'm having tears of joy but in reality it was the tears of pain and unwanted.
*END OF FLASHBACK*
While sitting on the couch by the window, tears flow down as I remembering the past...Thought to my self that...
I really was the one who ENDED OF US.
