2 Chapter 2: Learning about the world

I was trying to open my eyes again, but this time it was harder compared to the last time.
The voices around me became clearer and I could finnaly hear what was going on around me, I think its a nurse who spoke "Congratuliations Sir and Madame it's a healthy boy, but there is still one more to go."
So I was reborn and assuming from what I just heard I will have a twin brother or sister apparently. I couldn't open my eyes for now to see who are my new parents due to being a new born so I will settle with just hearing for now.
I was taken by someone who seemed to be somehow muscular but even so I could feel his warm embrace which made my mind calmer, I guess he is my father, maybe...?
The woman who gave birth to me earlier was again making sounds and groaning from pain while the nurse was assisting her.
"Aaaahhhh huh huff huff Ummmmm!"
"Push Madame push you are almost there, I already can see the baby's head" The nurse was helping and reassuring her.
The birth process was finally over it was really a tiring and painful experience as it sounds but the moment my new mother took us in her gentle and loving embrace she seemed to forget all that pain as if it didn't happen at all.
"Hmm? They both aren't crying doctor, I tought newborns were supposed to cry" I heard my mother's voice .
The doctor simply excused herself saying, "There are cases where the infant does not cry. Please continue resting for a couple of days Mrs. Lewyin and let me know if something happen to Meliodas and Arthur Mr. Lewyin"
'Oh so they still named me Meliodas and my twin is Arthur. And we have a last name, it's Lewyin apparently.'
'I must really thank that god. At least I have a family now! Me who have experienced losing them before will do everything I can to protect my new family!'
The doctor finally left, leaving me with my parents and brother. Anyways I will consider those people as a real family even though they are strangers for me now, but with time im sure that I will end up having feelings for them.
"Honey what is this mark on Meliodas shoulder? Is that a tattoo? It seems like a dragon I think." Asked my mother with a worried expression.
"I dont know. Maybe he is blessed by the gods to become a dragon slayer, he is my son after all! Hahaha." Responded father with a stupid grin looking proud and happy.
'Looks like my father isnt the smartest person, but it suits me, at least they wont find me suspect in case I do something weird.'
After a couple of days I could finally see well, and it was really a new world completely different from my old one. Im now in the medieval period where houses are lit with candles and most furniture is made out of wood.
On these few days I learned something, that is living as a baby is really an easy life all you do is sleep, suck some boobs, shit and repeat. No worries, no responsabilities and most importantly NO JOB!
Mother was taking us occasionally to the market place, either me or Arthur since she cant take both of us and I noticed that there were some people wearing swords, weapons and armors in public. I even heard conversations of merchants and people talking about health and mana potions , and this trigered something inside me.
'So there is mana in this world! Meaning that probably there is magic, so in other words I was reincarnated in a fantasy world meaning that my 'Meliodas' powers won't be at waste and I will be able to use them freely.'
'YES' I cried but what came out of my mouth was "AHM."
"Meliodas? Is something wrong baby?" She checked on me, and after confirming everything was alright we continued on our way.
'Oop, I need to control myself.'
What further proved that my theorie was right, is the day Art fell from the chair and hurt himself. Mom rushed to him and started chanting something then a green light appeared from her palm and healed Arthur's elbow injury in an instant.
'Yeah magic definitly exist here!'

Two months later, and thanks to my demon bloodline providing me with supernatural physical powers I made my first achievement in this life, I learned to crawl!
I started exploring every corner of the house, of course that was problematic for mom who had to follow me everywhere but this allowed me discover a new room in the house I didn't know about.
It was the study room, where many books were placed. I started looking and took a random book and opened it. What was written there was a weird symbols but I still understood them, just like how I understood their spoken language the moment I was born.
The book talked about the history of the world and had many maps on it. Dicathen is the continent where im born and it has three major kingdooms, Elenoir the elven kingdoom situated deep into the forest.
Darv situated in the vast undergrounds, the kingdoom and home of the dwarves. And lastly Sapin the human kingdoom obliviously where I live.
Of course after learning about the existance of magic in this world, I anricipated and was ready to hear of the existance of other races as well as monsters or demons, anything can exist and be expected.
It took me some time to read the whole book, and once I finished I looked for another one of course. Looking around the place, a book picked my interest because of its golden color. I pulled it from the shelf and placed it on the ground.
'Beginner's Guide For Privileged Magic, hum? Lets check it out' The moment I wanted to open the book, mom barged in the study room looking for me.
"Here you are Mel! So you came here again huh? You really are an energetic kid, aren't you?." She carried me in her arms and gave me a light kiss.
'Noooo mom! I wanted to read it!' I was disapointed since I really wanted to read about magic! Like, who dosen't want to learn magic?'
"Let's go Mel, its bed time!" She took me to my crib next to Arthur who still can't move, he's a normal baby after all.
