Seraph and Cherub

After they answered their superior, Karenina looked at Aiden and said, "The Chamber wants to show us something special, a new Mega Armor?"

"It could be. I know someone at The Chamber... I'll introduce you to that… important person later," said Aiden.

"Hmmm…, important person. A woman…?" said Karenina spontaneously.

"Why do you think that person is a woman?" Aiden replied immediately.

"Because all of them at Fort Steele back then say: 'Aiden has a lot of female friends out there," Karenina answered jokingly.

"Do you believe it?"

"Oh, yes I am!"

"Up to you, then. Anyway, you and I have time to relax a bit. How about we have lunch while... letting go of our longing?" Aiden changed the topic of their conversation and then asked Karenina back.

"You miss me?" Karenina asked with a playful expression.

"If you don't miss me, that's okay. But I want to make the most of my little time with you," Aiden said, half-seductively.

"Okay, Aiden. Will you treat me?"

"Who else?"

The next day at The Chamber.

In his cockpit, Aubrey is fully concentrating on facing his opponent. His hands holding onto the yoke, and his fingers were pressing the buttons on the Mega Armor's control stick.

"Missile assault. I must do the 'rocket man maneuver'…" Aubrey muttered.

His Mega Armor which was floating in the sky shot up and dived up while moving right and left. Several missiles that were chasing him scattered.

"Time to counterattack," Aubrey muttered again.

The battle robot turned around and then fired several shots from its beam weapon.

BHEEEWWW…! BHEEEWWW…! BHEEEWWW…!

BDUM! BDUM! BDUM!

Several opponent Mega Armors exploded due to being hit by Aubrey's shots. Then, the danger alarm sounded.

BEEEP-BEEEP! BEEEP-BEEEP!

Another enemy arrives. Aubrey didn't back down. He immediately brought the Mega Armor he controlled to attack his next opponents.

Not long afterward, Aubrey managed to defeat all his enemies. There was a sound in the cockpit.

[Simulation with difficulty level: expert, has ended. Pilot grade: 9.7.]

"Always between 9.6-9.8. This simulation engine is not capable of rating its users up to 10. Because maybe the only thing capable of achieving that number of points is... forget it," Aubrey muttered again as if complaining.

HISSSS…!

The cockpit of the Mega Armor simulator machine where Aubrey sat opens upwards. He intended to take off the helmet he was wearing but at the same time, he saw people clap for him.

CLAP… CLAP… CLAP…!

From inside the simulator machine, Aubrey saw Aiden, his brother, who is a UEF ace pilot. He is clapping with Araia and another woman who is wearing the same dark blue UEF uniform similar to the one his brother was wearing.

"A Lupus female pilot?' Aubrey asked himself, after seeing the badge on the woman's left arm.

"It's not too late to become a cadet, Little Brother. You already have a pilot's certificate, right? Then you will get recommendations from me, as well as Ms. Benedict."

Aiden spoke as he stepped closer to Aubrey who came out of the cockpit and took off his helmet.

People who visit the simulation room can see those practicing with the machines from LED monitor screens located in the corners of the room. That's why Aiden was able to find out Aubrey's skill in controlling Mega Armor.

"I am a Mega Armor designer. I don't want to just be a designer, but not experience firsthand how my creations actually operate," Aubrey replied in his typical cold style.

"But 9.7 is a bit too much for a Mega Armor designer, Mister…"

Karenina responds to Aubrey like she didn't finish her sentence. Knowing that his colleague wanted to know who the young man in the orange battle suit in front of them was, Aiden replied.

"Karenina, let me introduce you. This is Aubrey Wildemann, my younger brother. Aubrey, this is Special Lieutenant Karenina Windsor."

"Younger brother?" Karenina said while holding out her hand to Aubrey who welcomed it. "Why does the little brother look more handsome than his older brother?" she joked.

Meanwhile, Aubrey only moved his lips as a sign that he was smiling. In his heart, he was certain. The young officer who shook hands with him was probably the daughter of Kalvin Windsor.

"Okay, enough with the introductions," Aiden said as his hand separated Karenina and Aubrey who were shaking hands. He spoke again.

"It's not that I'm jealous. I'm just worried that Karenina will be reprimanded because of a scandal with a Mega Armor designer. Besides, you already have a girlfriend, am I right, Bro?"

Aiden's words made Karenina chuckle. Aubrey glared languidly at his brother as a sign that Aiden's way of joking was lame for him.

"Since we've met Aubrey, shall we go to the Cathedral now? Because Lieutenant General Miroslav Ilyakov and Lieutenant Colonel Alexis Saunders are waiting for us there," said Araia.

On the way to the place Araia was referring to, Karenina noticed something from the two brothers walking next to her.

Aiden also has a Eurasian face, only he is more Caucasian than his younger brother. Slightly differs from Aubrey who looks like a half-blood. Even so, their faces do share similarities.

"Do you guys here have anything to match the Mega Armor stolen by the ELC from Abelman Corp, Aubrey?" Aiden asked, not that serious.

"More precisely: we 'ALREADY HAVE' something as powerful as that stolen Mega Armor," Aubrey said calmly.

"Transformable Mega Armor too?" Karenina asked curiously.

"We also have a similar thing, still prototype and it has been tested -I happen to be the tester- it will be mass-produced soon. But what you will see later is something… 'a bit different'," explained Aubrey. He adjusted his glasses.

"I like men who make me curious like you, Aubrey," joked Karenina. Aubrey gave her a languid, sour smile. Aiden sighed as he glanced at Karenina, who was smiling as if she was proud of herself.

Not long after, the four people arrived at a place called the Cathedral. From the hangar balcony, Aiden and Karenina saw several Mega Armors displayed there.

Since the other was a type of robot that was familiar to them, both of their attention was drawn to the two Mega Armors standing side by side. Apart from that, there are several other devices that are with those robots.

"A new type of Mega Armor," said Aiden in admiration.

"What's that…?!" Karenina asked also amazed.

As if he knew that his men were wondering, Mirsolav Ilyakov, who had been there first and had his back to the others, turned around.

"Aubrey, tell your sister and Lieutenant Windsor what these things really are."

"Finally, there is someone who can answer my curiosity," Alexis added.

"Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you. This is Mega Armor X type or let's just call it: MA-X. The gray and black is Seraph and the white and blue one is Cherub," said Aubrey.

As the boss of her company, Araia added, "The gray and black is the main frame of Seraph. See those giant devices down there?"

When Araia spoke to her guests, Aiden and Karenina nodded and the Managing Director continued. "That is the weaponry for Seraph. There are only 2, 1 more will join soon. Meanwhile, Cherub will be explained by its creator himself."

Araia's saying while turning his head to Aubrey. The younger brother of Aiden adjusted his glasses and then started to speak.

"Cherub was created as Seraph's sidekick. He is a semi-transformable Mega Armor. He has a device that I call: a 'Cloak Vest'. Pay attention to the wings on his back, the accessories on his hands and feet..."

Everyone nodded when Aubrey said that, including Araia, who already knew what kind of battle robot made by her flagship designer looked like.

"The Cloak Vest will… let's say: 'wrapped up' Cherubs, changes her shape -just a little- so that it becomes more aerodynamic then can fly faster," Aubrey explained. "I designed him for hit-and-run tactics, Lieutenant Windsor."

Because Aubrey said that to her, Karenina felt a little bit big-headed. She's thinking: will she be the one to pilot the Cherub? Nevertheless, he nodded and answered.

"Alright, Aubrey."

"What about Seraph?" Aiden asked.

Different from Karenina, who was still wondering whether she would be the pilot of the Mega Armor designed by Aubrey, Aiden seemed to be completely sure. Seraph will be piloted by him.

"Seraph will consist of what I call: 'Three States'. First up: Skyburner State. You are equipped with a booster that makes you move very fast while in the air, Aiden. Next Shinobi no Ken State, short-ranged weapons package..."

"You mean, this Seraph… he… is a Mega Armor that can be equipped with weaponry according to the situation?" Aiden interrupted his brother's words.

"Yes, that's right," Aubrey responded to her older brother.

"Very good, Bro. Continue."

"Lastly, is the Thunderblaster State set. Sorry, you can't see it yet because it's in the painting process, I hope you all understand. Thunderblaster State is a heavy weaponry equipment for Seraph," Aubrey concluded.

"You already heard what young Mr. Wildemann has explained to both of you, aren't you, Aiden, Karenina?" asked Miroslav.

"Affirmative, Sir!"

"Now, get your ass into those robots and master them!"
