A DAY IN THEIR LIFE!!

Mark was still on the bed when the door-bell rang. Eddie continuously Rang the Bell for few minutes before it opened. Mark opened the door for Eddie and went to wash his face. Eddie couldn't wait till afternoon, so when the clock tick 12'O clock he came to Mark. There wasn't much luggage for Eddie, a suitcase and a leather office bag.

While Mark was in the washroom, Eddie took a tour in the condo. For one person, this condo was spacious. Though this place is a bit far from his workplace, the location was good. Mark called Eddie as he went near the 'locked room'

" My personal stuff are in there and it's often kept locked.Your room is this way." Mark dragged him from there and showed his room. This room is near to Mark's Room and well furnished.

" Thank you Mark. This room is completely my style." Eddie said holding Mark's hand and giving a big smile.

" It's okey. No problem as long as you keep the room clean." Mark said.

" Rest assured Mark. You live alone here? Don't you feel lonely living in a big house all by yourself?" Eddie asked curiously.

Mark smiled at Eddie and said, " I live by myself ever since I was born. I don't have anyone to share this home. It is my first time letting someone to live with me. You have to promise me one thing that you will keep it a secret from your colleagues. Usually I never invite anyone home and they didn't know where I live."

Eddie felt sad knowing Mark is an Orphan. " I promise that I don't do anything that Mark doesn't like." Eddie promised Mark, more like a wedding oath.

Mark left the room and went to the kitchen to cook lunch. Eddie looked around the room and unpacked his luggage. Eddie is a neat freak!!!!

Mark has day shift next day. Usually he never eats food in time but now as Edwin is living with him, he became responsible and more content. It was Mark who did cooking, Eddie roamed around the kitchen saying he can help Mark to cook but whatever Eddie did, he doubled the work of Mark.

Finally Mark excused Eddie from kitchen and asked him to clean the mess. Eddie felt homely around Mark. He did all the work that Mark has asked him like an obediant husband.

It was all new for Mark, this homely feeling and warmth. Also it was his first meal in his house with someone else. And he enjoyed it to the core. In between the meal, Eddie put side dishes in to Mark's plate saying Mark needs to eat more as he is very thin. Mark literally cried when he had the lunch. ' I was correct inviting Edwin to live with me,' Mark thought.

" Edwin, have more soup." Mark said as passing the soup bowl.

Eddie took the bowl from Mark , looked at him and said "Can you stop calling me Edwin? Since we live together and close, call me Eddie or Edd."

"Eddie!!!" Mark called his name suddenly and chuckled.

Eddie was stunned and he liked it. " Yeah... like that. See, now you sound more friendly."

" I think so too, Eddie is better than Edwin." Mark replied. After lunch Eddie washed the dishes while Mark did the laundry.

Since Eddie can't cook, Mark solemnly took the charge of cooking while Eddie took the charge of keeping the house clean. The garbage will be disposed by both of them alternately. Whatever Mark suggested, Eddie agreed everything. For him, living with Mark itself is enough.

Mark was in the washroom when the doorbell rang. Eddie was watching a movie in the hall he called Mark and opened the door for the guest. Seeing a strange man at Mark's place, Alex thought he was a robber and about to punch Eddie. Mark came out at the right moment and held back Alex.

" Alex, this is Edwin my colleague and starting today he will be staying with me." Said Mark trying to calm him.

"Eddie, this is Alex my....My hmm... My one and only friend." Mark said to Eddie winking at Alex and gestured him to shake hands with Eddie.

Alex was perplexed and looked at Mark confusingly. Mark then asked him to say Hello. Alex extended his hands to Eddie and said while shaking hands " Hello Eddie, nice to meet you. Mark usually doesn't invite anyone home. So I thought you were a thief when I first saw you. My sincere apologies."

Eddie was happy knowing he is the first Mark take home and proudly he shook hands with Alex and they three had a little chat.

Alex observed Mark and Eddie. He haven't seen this side of Mark. Though Alex was present there, Mark and Eddie were talking continuously and the presence of Poor Alex was ignored.

Alex smirked under his lips and sat there enjoying his tea. After an hour, Alex bid bye about to leave. Mark went after Alex to the parking lot.

" Is this your real self or you pretending?" Alex asked him.

"Pretending? Who is pretending? I'm not. I just went along with Eddie, you know he is a fun guy..." replied Mark defending himself.

" What ever it is! Mark, have you started your next work? C&B Publisher called me a couple of time asking the same. Since you already signed the contract, you better hurry up. They offered handsome pay." Alex said.

" I will start the work soon, you can assure them that the work will be finished at the said time." Mark replied.

" Mark, you don't have to work this hard. You know, if it is hectic you can always resign your current job and focus on writing." Alex said his concern.

" Don't worry Alex. I love what I'm doing now and I still got plenty of time to complete the work. And I have a request too..." Mark said

"What is it?" asked Alex

" Don't ever say who I'm to Eddie. He doesn't know about it and I don't want to frighten him. When the time comes, I will say him." Mark said.

Alex looked at him and chuckled." As far as he doesn't interfer your work or don't hurt you it's Okey. I don't mind your personal business Mark. You can relax." Alex said.

Mark sent him and went back to his condo. Eddie was sitting in the couch and watching ' the big bang theory' " Sent him off?" Eddie asked.

" Yes.. he just gone." Mark said and directly went to the locked room. Mark unlocked the room, entered and locked the room from inside.

Eddie sat there watching Mark and he was confused. He sat there watching the show and gradually fell asleep.

It was past midnight when Mark finally came out of the room. He saw Eddie lying on the sofa and the TV was on. Mark locked the room and slide the key into his pocket and came to Eddie's side. He observed Eddie for sometime and called him. Eddie was sleeping soundly and it took Mark few seconds to wake him up.

"Oh... I am sorry Mark, I fell asleep. This couch is good for taking a nap." Eddie said rubbing his eyes.

" Yes. it is indeed. Have you ate dinner?" Mark asked.

" No. You know I suck at cooking. I was waiting for you to cook. Infact I'm hungry." Eddie said. Mark looked at the clock and ran to the kitchen.

He was writing and didn't know as time went. He just cooked some noodles and gave to Eddie. While eating, Mark briefed him about the hospital and the type of people he may encounter.

" I will keep your breakfast on the table tomorrow. Heat it and eat before you come to the hospital. I will leave early. Set the Alarm, don't be late on your first day." Mark said.

" We can have breakfast together. I wake up when you do." Eddie said.

" No. You should rest. We can have dinner together." Said Mark.

"Okey, Goodnight then." Eddie said as he entered his room.

" Oh? Ah.... Goodnight." Mark was stunned for a moment. He never had someone to wish him Good morning or Good night in life. He felt secure and went to his room.

When Eddie woke up the next day, Mark was already gone but his breakfast was kept on the table. Eddie looked at the Egg Sandwich and took a picture of it. He went to take a shower and after shower he ate the sandwich as Mark instructed and left for work.
