Prologue
1985, Somewhere only God knows where.
Dragomir's huge mansion.
"Luther"
He looked up to find his beautiful wife who was now openly staring at him. Her cheeks were flushed due to the nervousness. After all, they had just married only for a couple of months.
"Yes, roses?" He knew that Charlotte loved it when he gave her nicknames when they were alone. It's a sweet gesture for a cold vampire like him.
"I was wondering…."
"Yes?"
Luther was known for his impatience. But then, he will do anything for his wife even though waiting for minutes to complete her sentence. However, his curiosity got the best of him when his wife making no move to complete her sentence.
"What is it, my love? You have me waiting" said Luther in a voice full of curiosity.
Charlotte came to sit on his lap. Her hair was an untangle mess but Luther liked it that way. Her head was resting on his shoulder while her hand caressed his chest lovingly. Then, she lifted her head to meet his eyes daringly.
"I want be to like you"
Instantly his body stiffened.
"What did you say?" Asked the perplexed vampire. He noticed the way Charlotte's body slumped against him.
"Never mind..I just wondering…"
"If you want to be a vampire like me?" At her nod, Luther gave her one of his severe look.
"No"
Charlotte tried to stand but failed when Luther grasped her arm and throw her on the bed. In a blink of an eye, he was on top of her.
"No, you can't love" his eyes somehow had become soften due to crestfallen face Charlotte wears.
"Why? If I am married to a vampire, why can't I become one?" Said Charlotte in her best demanding tone she could mustered. Luther restrained himself from laughing at seeing her adorable face. He loved it when his wife getting angry with him. It's just make her looks more beautiful than ever.
Luther kissed her temple. Before she could make a rude comment, he greedily put a chaste kiss on her mouth. He noticed Charlotte's body became relax and began to participate in the kiss. He then deepened their kiss until the both of them gasping for an air.
"You are an amazing kisser, wife" said him in a husky voice his wife so loved. He did not missed the way her eyes darkened at hearing his voice before the anger filled her again.
"You were trying to distract me!" She exclaimed.
"No, I wasn't " defended him. When Charlotte made a move to push him away, he fasten his arms around her and whispered something in her ear that made her blushed furiously.
"The moment you kissed me back got me hard, baby. Now you don't want your husband left unsatisfied, right?" His voice became heavy with breath. Charlotte was helpless when her husband started to unbutton his night shirt.
"Luther…..you are not replying to my question earlier. Stop making excuses" cried her in despair. Her husband can be a real bastard when he wanted to be.
However, Luther movement was put a halt to. He let out a heavy breath. When he tried to sit down, Charlotte was faster to circle her arms around his neck and brought his face back to her.
"What do you know of vampires?" Asked him in his lecture tone. He was not going to make this easy for her.
Charlotte was lost in her thoughts when an idea came crossing her mind.
"A dark creature who sucks a human's blood?" Told her uncertainly.
A smirk appeared on Luther face making the vampire looks more devilishly handsome.
"Ten points to you, dear wife. True, they sucks humans' blood, but any bloods too. For an instance, animal's blood or blood from the raw meat?"
Charlotte face shows a hint of disgust. Luther hide his smile.
"You did that?" At seeing his nod, Charlotte let out a shriek before being shut by her husband.
"Quiet, Charlotte! You will wake the others. I thought you wanted to be one"
Charlotte sent him a look that indicates people that you are a dunderhead.
"Of course I wanted to be one. But then, having animal's blood in your veins is disgusting" she complains earning a look of disbelief from her husband.
"That's what we did to stay sane and powerful through out our life as a vampire, love" chided him softly.
"Yeah…but still I want to be one. Make me a vampire, Luther!"
Luther was unsure about this. He didn't want his wife to have a life as he did. Being a vampire is hard when you are new at it.
"I can't make you one, love. It's not that easy. It will either turns you to be one or kill you on the spot"
Charlotte gave him her not get it look.
"Why?"
He was hesitated to tell her. But seeing her looking so hopeful, he gave it all.
"Because I am afraid while turning you to become a vampire, I cannot control myself. I have to sucks your blood in order to turn you into vampire. But the blood will give me pressure. I only have to suck a bit to turn you but if I lost control, you will die because of me!"
Charlotte gave him an apologetic look. She caressed his face while looking into his eyes deeply. The love was there. So strong it might've burst into flames. She cannot lose this man cause now she has his heart and she couldn't break it with her selfishness.
"I know you are worried, Luther. I'm sorry to cause you such a pain. I was selfish" said her in a voice filled with regret.
Luther shook his head and bent down to kiss her sweetly. His hands began to rub slowly on her belly before moved to pull her shirt off. The kisses grew frantic when Charlotte deepened their kiss.
"I love you, Luther. Always"
Luther was breathing heavily. The words meant deeply to him.
"And I, you"
