33 Chapter 33 - To be, or not to be

Unfortunately for Brandon, after a long day of research, he was never able to replicate the composition of this substance, but he did not despair, he is confident that when the rebuilding of the city begins, his people will be able to find and partially recover the lost data.

Brandon was sorry that he spent a precious point in the Chemist skill, during the research he realized that he was not interested in spending his life in the laboratory, he liked working in the workshop more than here, in the future he will just find some smart people in the laboratory.

Although this has its advantages, for example, he will not look stupid in front of his employees when they start discussing some drugs.

Sighing, Brandon put the syringe back into his inventory, grabbed his weapon, and headed for the exit.

Going out into the street, he raised his eyes and looked at the beautiful moon and many stars.

The wind began to blow dust from the street, scattering all the light debris on the sides.

Taking in the refreshing gust of wind, Brandon stopped staring at the moon and began to listen.

In the distance you can hear the sound of working machines and the voices of workers who, even at night, do not stop working, just to finish building the wall as soon as possible.

Brandon began to think about the upcoming chaotic year, at which time he will turn 18 and the main character of the game will leave the vault, in search of his son, he will turn the whole of Boston, suddenly fanatics from the brotherhood began to want to expand their zone of influence, at the same time the institute will begin to accept a more active role in the life of Boston, and the idiot ideologues of The Railroad will continue to wreak even more chaos, destroying the institution's reputation, as well as stealing their robots.

In his past life, when Brandon played Fallout 4, he chose the side of the Institute and the Minutemen several times, but he never chose the side of the Brotherhood and The Railroad, as he considered them complete idiots.

Yes, the Institute did apply tough solutions to problems, and also entrusted the work to some outside agents, which led to many problems, but they have an excuse. They are scientists who spend their entire lives in laboratories without understanding the outside world, they understand very little about society, but they thought about how to improve life for people.

Brotherhood of Steel, Brandon never liked them, even in other parts of the game.

Indeed, they can be called friendly towards the population of the wasteland, but such an impression of them can be obtained by those who have only played games and did not try to understand the history of the world.

In fact, they are just fanatics who are trying to hinder the natural progress of mankind, they are afraid of new technologies and possible consequences, so they try to control other people's inventions.

In their ideologies, they are not much different from the Enclave, perhaps the only difference is the acceptance of the wastelands for people, and not for mutants.

This whole crowd of fanatics is led by a group of elders who have a tendency to heredity, that is, the receiver will always adhere to the plans of his mentor, a vicious cycle.

And finally, The Railroad is perhaps the most mediocre faction in the history of the game Fallout, which could only be loved by young children fighting for the rights of poor androids who are exploited by their cruel creators. Indeed, they have a very good goal, to save androids from exploitation, but unfortunately they do not understand that simply saving the synth and throwing it out, they create even more problems. They do not even subject them to any control, what if these androids in the future consider humanity a threat and try to endlessly create many of the same androids?

Or, for example, one synth decides to become a maniac, a murderer, a raider, and then when people find out about this, who will be responsible for the incident? Of course, the institute is to blame, not The Railroad. In fact, Brandon has not unfounded fears about androids, because he has already visited in the distant future, where there is an artificial intelligence more advanced than that of local androids, once there were even uprisings somewhat reminiscent of a Skynet from a terminator, so the galactic states created laws for artificial intellect, giving them rights, but at the same time limiting their possible infinite growth.

Brandon would not have treated The Railroad so negatively if, for example, at the end of the game, they would not have tried to blow up the Institute, thereby excluding one of the centers of development of all mankind from the equation.

Sorting out his thoughts, Brandon headed towards their temporary camp.

When he got there, he saw Arthur, who at that time was listening to the reports.

Noticing Brandon, Arthur waved his hand to stop the subordinate's report and kick him out, and then he turned to Brandon and spoke.

-Sir, I want to inform you that even with the use of machines, it will take a very long time to build a city, in most cases we simply do not have enough hands to transfer materials.

Rubbing his chin, Brandon thought for a moment and then asked.

- How many raiders, scavengers and other undesirable individuals were eliminated around the city?

Arthur lowered his gaze to the table and began to rake with his hands a pile of paper reports, eventually pulling out a small notebook from under several layers of paper.

-So, over the past 3 months, 8 groups of raiders were met, a total of 67 raiders, 3 groups of mercenaries each of 12 people, a total of 36 mercenaries, 112 scavengers were also killed who tried to get through the perimeter or steal our equipment, in addition, sometimes we were attacked by groups of mutants, but compared to humans, these were rare cases. I also want to note that the largest number of people were killed in the last month, I will assume that some were suspicious and are trying to find out the situation around this place.

Hearing the report, Brandon smiled bitterly and spoke.

-Arthur, unfortunately I didn't want to do this, but I have to admit that this is probably the only safe option that will help us quickly find free hands for work.

Not understanding the answer, Arthur asked.

-What is this Sir?

Brandon lowered his head, and then lifted it with a malicious smile, leaning his little finger to his lips, spoke.

-Slavery Arthur.
