Just like every other day, I woke up to the sound of my alarm reminding me that I've got workout to do. But, since my workout instructor took a sick leave, no one will know that I didn't do it. With that thought, I draft back to slumber with my subconscious trying to remind me of my meeting with dad and his new investors by 9am.

I woke up to a heavy banging at my door. "What the hell!!" I thought to myself. I was still trying to understand what the hell was going on when my mum's voice chased away every atom of sleep still left in me.

Mia Edwin!!!! Open this door at once young lady!!" Her angry voice echoed round the hallway and with that, Mia didn't need a prophet to tell her that she was in so much trouble. She quickly lucked up her phone to check what time it is and to her utmost dismay, I was 11am. She was late and she had missed dad's meeting. She was in so much trouble and she knew it. The amount of missed calls from her parents already reassured her if the trouble she was in. She couldn't escape what was coming, not that she tried to anyways. She quickly walked towards the door and unlocked it, revealing her angry looking mother starring directly at her.

" You're in so much trouble young lady" her mother's voice came out strict and cold like usual not that she expected something else.

" I know" she said letting out a sign out utmost defeat.

"When will you ever learn?" Her mother's disappointed voice asked her. She couldn't say anything, she didn't have anything to say. it has always been like this. She knew better than to argue with her mum or give her an excuse.

" I'm sorry mother" she apologized bowing her head slowly. She had said those sorry words alot that she has lost the true meaning if those words.

"Get dressed. Leo will be here in the next 20 minutes to pick you up, don't be late" the warning at the end of her statement was not left unnoticed to Mia.

"Where are we going mother?" She asked innocently genuinely curious and confused.

"We're you not paying attention to what I told you last night?" Her mother's angry voice questioned her.

"No mother but... Ava and I already have plans to go together". She says hoping that she won't cancel the plan she had with her best friend. Ava was not only her best friend but her only friend to be exact. She couldn't afford to lose Ava. Her and Ava have been friends for the longest if time now.

" Very well then, accommodate him. Go get dressed". She says as she turned on her heels and walked away.

"What a great day to start my morning" she murmured to herself before shutting the door.

That's a topical morning in my house. Let me give you a little run down in my life; I'm the only remaining child if the Edwin's household. What do I mean by only remaining child? You-all may ask. About 6 years ago, when I was 13 years old back than my brother was 16. He always comes to check up on me every morning until one morning he didn't come like usual. I went to check on him but couldn't find him. I never saw him again. A lot of people says he ran away, some said he was killed. Either wats, I won't blame him.

I'm Mia Edwin, I'm turning 19 in 3 days and if I don't get prepared within the next 15 minutes, I'll be as good as dead. with the thought of all I have to face if I make Leo wait, I ran into my bathroom to run a quick bath.

Within few minutes, she was done with her bath. She wore a simple black dress that were paired with sliver heels. She texted ava to meet her at their personal shopper's mall. She knew she had no time to spare so she hurriedly applied some light make up on her face and headed down the ground stairs leading to the waiting room where she knew Leo was.

"Leo..." She called out as she descended the stairs like a Queen in her full glory. Leo couldn't help but stare. Even in her not so simple dress, she still looked breathtaking. He was happy that their parents engaged the two of them right from birth cause in all honesty, he couldn't wait to have her.

" Leo is there something on my face?" She couldn't help but ask due to the way he was staring at her. She was used to people starring at her but there was something about the way this guy looked at her that she didn't like at all.

"No my darling. You look so beautiful" he compliment her as he peaked her cheeks and smiled at her in pure adoration and longing.

" Thank you". She replied softly. Shey we go? I do want to come back early. I've got another matter to attend to". She says trying her next not to sound offensive in any manner.

"Of coz.... After you my lady" he replied her smiling gently at her. With that said, she turned on her heels and left the waiting room, heading for the exist.
