14 Chapter 14 - Title At The End

(A/N: Not entirely sure about the end of Iron Man 2 date, I just know it Ends during May. So this chapter is set like a month or so before the final battle)

~Peter POV~

It's been about a month since the Bridge incident, and it still on my mind and nerves. Due to the fact I've got no idea who made or planted that bomb. I've spent countless hours and nights searching for any and all information on the creator of the Impulse bomb as I call it, and I've found nothing.

(A/N: I'm Changing Epic Games to Catalyst Games)

In better news, Catalyst Games has been doing well, Ned had really put in the work. He's hired various employees who are mostly fresh out of collage or even high school. All of which are on a pretty decent wage.

Catalyst Games has also gotten a license to make games for both Xbox and Play Station. Which will be great for the company especially since Ned's game is practically finished thanks to the extra hands of our new employees.

We both hope that when it gets released, it will also allow us to work with other gaming companies like Rockstar and Activision. Which will give us and our employees new experience and reputation, Hopefully?

Now onto my personal life now much has changed I'm still a single Pringle, but I've got May, Ned and Mj so I don't mind to much. I've also...

"ARAHHH"

Hold that thought.

*Twhip*

Swinging towards the scream I see and a three story building that has gone up in flames. Landing next to the building and in front of the gathered crowd.

"Sarah, get me the blueprints and all known Tenets for this building" I say to my AI

"Already on it Peter" Sarah reply's softly. "I've got the blueprints. Pulling it up on the heads up display"

"And the Tenets?" I ask already planning on how to get in and out safety.

"There's 3 tenets. An older couple on the bottoms floor, a family of 3 on the second a single mother 2 kids, and then a group of 4 teenagers on the top" Sarah says swiftly while also pulling up pictures of each person.

Taking a quickly look at the crowd, I see the older couple and the teenagers already out of the building, which only leaves the Family of 3.

Slingshotting myself into the burning building, I land in a hallway of the seconded floor. Thanks to the blue prints I quickly begin my search for the second floor.

Before I could get to deep into my search my enhanced hearing picked up a small whimper coming from one of the bedrooms. Rushing towards the room paying no attention to the heat or flames.

I enter the room, too see a bundle of bodies next to the widow. Approaching a family. I check to see if anyone is awake, only to see that a young girl is the only one not passed out.

"Hey there, can you hear me?" I question her softly as she spots me, while also checking the pulse of the other two family members. Thankfully both still had a pulse.

"Yo..ur, your spider-man" she whimpers out.

"Yeah, that's me, so I need you to stay awake. So I can get you and you family out, can you do that for me?" I question her to hopefully keep her awake.

She doesn't answer just nods her head.

"Hey what's your name?" I ask her, while quickly picking up a the Mother and brother of the girl.

"I'm Jessica" she tells me.

"That's a lovely name. So Jessica I need you to climb onto my back" I tell her crunching onto my knees. "Can you do that?"

"Yup" she says latching onto my neck.

"Hold on tight" I say while also activating my sticking powers on my back to secure her. Doing the calculations in my head I can see that there would be no kickback flames from opening the window.

Kicking down the window, I launch myself and the family of three out the building. I land somewhat harshly on the ground. Spotting the fire fighters and ambulance I carry the family over to them quickly.

"Thank you Spider-Man" one of paramedics say taking the family off me.

"Woah, go Spider-Man"

"I love you, Spider-Man"

"I love you too" I say as I swing away after giving the building the once over, just to make sure there's on one else inside.

~Scene Change~

(Peter and Mays Apartment)

"So any girlfriends yet?" May questions trying to seem uninterested in the topic while eating her ice cream.

"Maaaayy. I've already told you last week, that I don't have my eyes in anyone yet" I tell her while devouring my cookie dough Ben and Jerry's.

"Any Boys then?" May asks with a raised eyebrow.

"I'm not gay" I groan.

"If you say so. It's completely fine if you are" May hurries to say.

"Yes I know that. I'm just not gay" I tell her again.

"Fine" she huffs. "Anything interesting you and Ned are working on"

"Well Ned is focused on his own personal game that he's working on with the rest of our employees. While we've agreed I'll take the lead on the Next game and so I've been focused on doing updates for our other games" I explain to her in between bites.

"Oh what's Neds game about?" May asks curiously.

"Hmm, I've only seen a little demo. But it's kinda like across between Halo and Call of Duty. We don't expect this game to be that successful, it's main purpose is to iron out the AI for future games and developments" I explain to May.

*Buzz* *Buzz*

Pulling out my phone, I see it's Sarah that's contacting me.

"Yes Sarah" I answer putting Sarah on speaker.

"I believe I may have found a lead on the creator of the impulse bomb" Sarah tells me.

I jump off the couch and leave my ice cream on the coffee table as I go to my room.

"What have you got for me?" I ask my trusty AI.

"I've noticed a lot of activity in an abandoned warehouse today, multiple cars and people have been caught on camera entering carrying equipment. There's also been an increase of electricity intake in that warehouse" Sarah begins

"I believe this could be the maker or a new a possible new threat"

"I'll go check it out. Thanks Sarah" I tell my partner. "Aunt May I have to head out real quick!"

"Be Safe Peter" May shouts back.

Putting on my Mk II suit, I tell Sarah to disable some nearby cameras as I leave my apartment.

~Scene Change~

Landing near the abandoned warehouse Sarah told me, I can immediately see that there's been no activity in the last couple minutes at least.

There's no cars, People or even lights on in or nearby the warehouse.

"Sarah you sure this is the right place?" I ask my AI

"100% certain, they might have known you coming" Sarah states.

"Hmm that's possible if they've hacked into cameras nearby or looked for me on the internet" I agree as I prepare for the worse.

I leap onto the top of the ware house, I slowly climb inside, I remain on the roof as to not give away my position. When suddenly a pair of lights turn on.

Looking at the lights I notice that they are pointed to a man in a nice suit wearing sunglasses.

I crawl closer to the man until I'm nearly just above him.

"Spider-Man I mean to harm I just wish to have a word" The suited man says with a warm smile from what I can see.

Decided to trust him a little, I let go of the roof and land about a metre or so away from him. He doesn't looked all that surprised by my closeness.

"Ah Spider-Man, I'm Coulson an agent of Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division" The Man now named Coulson says.

"Strategic Homeland Inter... what the..? That's an annoyingly long name" I tell him bluntly

"Yes we're working on it" Agent Coulson says.

"Sooo... what do you want?" I asks

"We at Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division are the worlds first defence against threats the world isn't ready for just yet. In doing so we come across some remarkable people you being one of them" Coulson says.

I don't know where this is going but he has my attention.

"Then the director of Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division had an idea, a crazy and unrealistic idea. Called the Avengers initiative" Coulson says.

"The Avengers Initiative?" I ask curious.

"Yes, it's the idea to bring a group of remarkable people to deal with threats the would couldn't hope to handle" Coulson explains.

"And you want me to be apart of this Super Secrete Super Squad" I say.

"We believe you have valuable talents" Coulson says. "This is a hard drive of everything we have on the Avengers Imitative"

Reaching out I take the hard drive. "Why? Do you want me, I could be a crazy psycho for all you know"

"You have been evaluated" Coulson says as another man steps into the light.

"Marcus is that you pal?" I ask my friendly neighbourhood criminal.

"Hey Spider-Man" Marcus says sheepishly.

"You've been lying to me all this time, I taught we were friends" I exaggeratedly exclaim. "Is Caitlin even a real person?!?"

"No I made her up" Marcus says rubbing the back of his neck.

"Is..Is your name even Marcus?" I questioned in fear pointing at him.

"No" Marcus said.

"You've broke me heart" I say wiping fake tears from my mask eyes.

"Anyways, the drive contains all you need to know" Coulson says bring the conversation back to the right topic.

"Just so you know, I don't trust some secret government organisations. So I'll never show you my face or anything else" I tell him seriously.

"We know, but to show our faith I've been told to give you this" Coulson says handing my a folder that you see in those spy movies all the time.

I quickly flip through the folder and my eyes widen in shock.

"The Thinkerer?" I whisper.

"Anyways, don't worry if the world is ever in danger I'll be there to help" I say to Coulson holding my hand out for him to shake.

"It will be a pleasure working with you" Coulson says shaking my hand. "I'm a big fan" He adds in a whisper.
