53 Ch. 49 - Memories

"Oh, hahahahah! You're afraid of cats? Oh men, that's some funny shit!" When Fury saw this, he laughed out loud and made fun of their weakness.

"That's no ordinary cat, that's a flerken." Talos said as he sighed in relief when Doflamingo picked up the flerken and placed it on his lap.

"Look at this little kitty. Your name is Goose? What a good name for a cute cat." Doflamingo started playing with the cat as Fury and Carol shared a chuckle.

"So, where are we heading next?" Talos asked.

"We're heading to Louisianas, so we could unlock Carol's memories. Then, our next destination would be this." Doflamingo said as he handed Talos the notebook full of Kree Glyphs at the last of his sentence.

"These are coordinates. Do you mean that this is?" Talos's eyes widened in surprise and wanted to ask Doflamingo for confirmation.

"Yep, that's the coordinates to the Lawson's spaceship, although we don't know if it has the Light Speed Engine but since it is her laboratory, maybe you guys could find the recipe to the Light Speed Engine or something." Doflamingo shrugged his shoulders.

"How did you know about that?" Talos confusingly asked. Although he was disappointed that the coordinates doesn't lead to the Light Speed Engine, but hearing that it is the spaceship of Lawson, Talos's eyes sparked a happy glint.

"I have my ways." Doflamingo casted a mysterious smirk.

It took them a few minutes to arrive in Louisiana as the jet plane is running at almost Mach 7.

Inside a house near a farm, a black woman went outside and was met with a huge jet plane hovering above her home.

"What the fuck?!" Maria immediately yelled at her kid to hide upstairs.

"Monica! Hide upstairs and don't go anywhere until I tell you to!" While saying that, she went to her barn and picked up a shovel and went back outside, just in time to see that the jet plane has landed on a wide open space.

"C-Carol? Carol, is that you?" As the plane landed, Carol was the first one to got out, so Maria immediately saw her and felt that she was familiar.

"Maria? You're Maria, right?" Since Carol hasn't fully recovered her memories, she only felt that the woman in front of her was a bit familiar and immediately came up with a conclusion that she's Maria, her friend.

"How come that you seem to not kno- Holy shit! Who the fuck are those?!" Maria was about to be confused when Talos and his fellow Skrulls got out of the plane, shocking her greatly.

"I think we're gonna need to talk inside." Fury also got out and flashed his Shield identity card to her.

"Wait, let me get this straight. So basically, my best friend was kidnapped by aliens and she can't remember anything from her past?" Sitting on the table, Maria was facing Fury, Carol and Doflamingo while Talos and his men were standing around and kept looking everywhere in curiosity.

"She only remembers a little bit, so we hoped that you could help her remember about her past." Doflamingo leaned forward and said to her.

Maria casted a worried glance to Carol, as she can't believe that the friend that she mourned and cried every night on, turns out it be alive and well, except that she was kidnapped by aliens, of course.

"I'll see what I can do." Maria said as she stood up while Carol followed her upstairs.

Doflamingo turned around while sitting on the chair and faced Talos.

"How about we decipher that coordinates, huh?" As soon as Talos agreed, they immediately went back to the jet plane and started deciphering the coordinates.

"I'm sure you could understand English by now since you've copied a lot of people's memories and appearances, right?" Doflamingo asked.

"Yes. You want us to translate it in English?" Talos nodded in confirment.

"Yup. In that way, we would be able to go to wherever that coordinates are."

It only took them a few hours to decipher and translate them to English.

"This is definitely on the outer space." Doflamingo said while Fury asked him.

"How come?"

"These are Celestial Coordinates." Doflamingo said as he kept the paper inside his pocket.

"They must be done by now, let's go back." Doflamingo said but before he go, he stopped and turned to face Talos.

"Do any of you know how to transform this plane into a spaceship? Not technically a spaceship but make it so it would help us reach this coordinates in space." As soon as Doflamingo finished asking, Talos and the other 2 turned to look at a certain science Skrull.

"What?"

While the Skrulls were working on the jet plane, Doflamingo was having a private conversation with Coulson.

"How come I didn't know that she's involve with your affairs? And she even became your assistant! You know how dangerous you are and I can't let her be in danger by being near you." Coulson was scolding him as if he found out that his daughter's boyfriend impregnated his daughter.

"Sir Coulson, with all due respect, it was her decision to join me and besides, she's quite special so even if I'm not by her side, she could protect herself just fine." Doflamingo assured him while continuing inside his mind.

'After all, she's already risking herself by patrolling at night to catch viscious criminals.'

"What do you mean by she's special? I know she's smart and all but she's still a child and if she's working with you then I could sue you for child labor." Coulson said.

"Coulson, I understand your worries but she's doing fine, trust me and if you're gonna sue me then prepare for the consequences." Doflamingo smiled and was about to walk away.

"...You know when I first heard about what happened to her I was saddened. Especially when I saw her, I could see that in her eyes, there's still some lingering pain and fear. I tried my best to wash it off and become successful. Look, I just want her to be safe and sound. I don't want anything bad to happen to her." Coulson said with a mix of warm and sad smile. Doflamingo even noticed a single drop of tear falling from his eye.

"I understand. I really do. I'm just the same as you, I also want her to be safe. She's the only friend- no, best friend I have." Doflamingo also smiled sadly. What he just said isn't a lie, Matilda is indeed the only friend he had in his entire life including his past life, and he's willing to protect it as much as he can.

"I see. Then, I hope I could put my trust on you. Thank you." Coulson patted his shoulder and hugged him.

After exchanging conversation, both Doflamingo and Coulson are now much more closer than ever.

It's like a father finally accepting his son-in-law.

"Where the hell were the two of you?" Fury eyed them suspiciously, as he saw them enter the house together.

"Don't worry, I won't take away your boyfriend." Doflamingo patted his shoulder and walked off.

"You know that's not what I meant! Rookie?" Fury yelled at him before turning to look at Coulson, asking the same question.

"We just had a manly talk." Coulson said as he flashed his usual kind smile.

"During our infiltration, we found this." Talos said and showed them a CD disk.

"So, what about it?" Carol asked.

"I found it in the jet when we were upgrading it." Talos explained.

"Let's play it." Maria said as she lead them to a computer and inserted the disk to the computer as they waited for it to finish loading.

Though it took quite a long time but after a minute, the loading is finally done.

[Lawson: Punch in the coordinates. 5229, -47, 8.768, 0.2.

Vers: Copy that. Where are we going Doc?

Lawson: My laboratory.

Vers: Your laboratory? What do you mean?

Lawson: Oh no.

Vers: Is that... Wait, what is that? It's not showing up on my radar.

Lawson: Go Carol. Fly!

Vers: That's no MIG, Lawson. Who the hell are they?

Lawson: Those are the bad guys. Fly faster, now.

Vers: Yes, ma'am. What do they want?

Lawson: Me. My work. I never should have brought you along.

Vers: Here come some G's. They're firing backward. Hold on!

Vers: Bail out! Bail out! Bail out! Stay with me Lawson!

Maria: Danvers, do you copy?

Vers: Yeah, I copy. We hit ground!

Maria: Can anyone hear me?

Vers: Yeah. I copy! Doc?]

As the audio continued, Carol suddenly started remembering everything about what happened and the truth about his nightmares.

After a few minutes of listening to the audio, it finally ended with a loud sound of explosion.

*Boom!*

"We need to get to the spaceship. I think Yon-Rogg is coming here soon." Carol said as she looked at her wrist comms.

"How did he even know you're here?" Talos asked.

"Well, before recovering my memories, I was still a soldier of Kree Empire, so I kinda told them the planet I'm on. And besides, even I don't tell them, they'll be able to trace me." As Carol said that, she turned around and showed them the chip attached to her nape.

"What's that?" Maria was both curious and worried for her friend.

"It's a chip that allows me to communicate with the Supreme Intelligence and since it is the Supreme Intelligence who put this on me, he or she probably placed something inside like some kind of tracker or something." Carol said.

"Anyways, what do you think is the estimated time that they'll arrive here." Doflamingo asked her.

Carol looked at her wrist comm and fiddled with it for a few minutes before replying.

"Tomorrow morning."

"Well, boys. Get ready." Doflamingo stood up and said, followed by Talos and the Skrulls who also acted cool by stretching their arms and such.
