8 Chapter 8: Humans and Beasts
"Damn... appearing in a place like this again!"
It was a man with messy curly hair, shirtless, wearing a torn pair of oversized pants and no shoes.
If this disheveled appearance was in the slums, it might pass.
But this was the depths of the "forbidden land of humans," the Amazon rainforest. It was simply unnatural to see an ordinary person, albeit somewhat strong-looking, with a scholarly air, in this place.
"First, I need to find a water source..."
The man took a deep breath. Despite his weary expression, there was not much impatience. It seemed like he had encountered situations like this before.
He exhaled slowly, carefully discerning the sound of flowing water. Although the Amazon River hid terrifying creatures like piranhas, caimans, and bushmasters, he didn't seem worried.
On his stubbled face, after the weariness, there was a calm and somewhat indifferent expression.
It looked like he didn't care at all if he could make it out of the rainforest alive.
No, it wasn't a sign of a death wish.
It was simply that he considered the dangers of the rainforest to be insignificant.
Intense self-confidence and immense frustration seemed to intertwine in the figure of his stumbling back.
"Rustle..."
Bruce Banner stopped in his tracks.
With one hand holding up his pants and the other gripping a thick branch used for probing, he smiled wryly and shook his head upon hearing the sound.
"So soon.. I was so close to the riverbank."
Thick vines descended from the large, ancient tree ahead of Banner, and among them, the thickest ones were slowly moving towards him...
It was a giant python thicker than his thigh!
He was already very close to the riverbank, and this environment was exactly what the self-proclaimed "swamp king" Python loves.
But encountering one so thick, it was a first for Banner.
"Roar..."
A low roar sounded, and Banner furrowed his brow. In front of him was a python, and behind him, a jaguar appeared?

The jaguar seemed to be angered by his indifference. If this fellow who didn't seem to put up a fight was taken down by that stinking long snake first, wouldn't that be a problem?
So it decisively launched an attack!
In the next moment, amidst a thunderous roar, the king of the Amazon rainforest, the apex predator of the food chain, the jaguar, was flung backward like a ragdoll.
Before it could even let out a cry of agony, the poor creature was hit in the chest by a massive green fist, breaking all its ribs.
Spraying blood from its mouth, it promptly and cleanly passed out.
"Roarrrr!!!"
Hulk punched the jaguar away, then immediately reached out to grab the python who was retreating in a hurry.
"Hiss—haaa!!"
The python wailed in pain. When has it ever encountered this? A two-legged creature using it, a rainforest king, as a whip?!
"Boom!!"
Hulk used the giant python's skin as a whip, fiercely lashing the vines and tree trunks in front of him. The massive snake, over eight meters long, had its spine shattered under the terrifying force.
But suddenly, Hulk stopped his wild whipping.
He tossed the nearly lifeless python aside like trash and turned around, alertly gazing at an empty space near the bushes.
There was nothing there, but Hulk's wild instincts told him that something was there!
And... it posed a threat to him!
After a few seconds, Hulk grew impatient. He took a big step forward and slammed his hands together with force!
"Boom!"
The violent shockwave plowed through the empty space, and the invisible entity finally revealed itself...
"Shoot! This move is so unfair!"
Oaks was almost blown away by Hulk's shockwave, but a few entangling roots caught his limbs, keeping him fixed in place.
However, stealth was no longer an option; they were already in battle.
Seeing another Big Cat, Hulk sneered and approached, delivering a punch!
Perhaps Banner would wonder why a cheetah, which should inhabit grasslands, was in the tropical rainforest, but Hulk didn't care about such things.
But in the next instant, his green eyes widened.
"Boom!"
A huge bear paw collided forcefully with his fist, creating a powerful shockwave that cleared a large area!
"Not bad..."
A fervent expression flickered in his eyes. Oaks had been dormant for these years and wanted to see how strong he could be in the Amazon rainforest, his home turf!
Oaks's bear form was the largest bear on Earth, the Kodiak brown bear. Although it couldn't reach the true size of over three meters long and weighing a ton.
But Oaks, empowered by Nature energy, reached a staggering four meters in length and weighed two tons!
In this state, Oaks and Hulk were practically on par.
They both possessed immense defensive power, tremendous strength, wild instincts, and the potential for growth—
The more they were beaten, the angrier they became.
The angrier they became, the stronger their fighting abilities would be.
Thus, in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, the two colossal beings engaged in a primal battle of strength!
Hulk's fists were as powerful as projectiles, and he occasionally used tree trunks and rocks as weapons.
Although Oaks's bear form couldn't wield weapons, his claws, enhanced by Nature energy, were his most potent weapons!
Covered in fur as tough as steel, strengthened by the Nature energy, Hulk even felt like he was striking against iron plates!
Hulk could swiftly jump and maneuver, thanks to his incredible leaping ability, while Oaks could launch charges at any time, interrupting Hulk's power-building moves!
In terms of attack power, Oaks was clearly inferior to Hulk, but in terms of defense and evasion, he surpassed him.
Combined with the application of nature magic—entangling vines, stunning attacks, short-term defense enhancements, and roar attacks that weakened the opponent's attack power...
The green humanoid beast and the brown beast-like human poured out their raging fury at each other.
Hulk's stamina was practically limitless, and Oaks could restore his stamina using Nature energy. This battle was exhilarating and intense!
As the day passed and night fell, and as the sun rose again, in the blink of an eye, this unparalleled battle of wildness had been raging for nearly a day and night!
The rainforest within a radius of one kilometer was devastated. Looking down from above, one could see the area where they fought, as if it had been plowed by the cannon fire of a main battle tank!
With no rainforest cover, the sunlight awakened two monsters with nearly limitless endurance—they had become so absorbed in the fight that they had lost themselves.
The rulers of the rainforest, the apex predators at the top of the food chain, had long ago desperately fled.
For many years to come, this area would remain haunted by their indelible shadow.
Two figures radiating wild power stood bathed in the morning sun, silently facing each other. The air seemed to freeze momentarily.
