Chapter 199: Battle of the Golden Palace
The control system of the Golden Palace's protective shield was damaged, and the massive energy could no longer be effectively supplied, causing the shield, which had closed to 80%, to slowly dissipate.

However, even Baldur, with full preparation, couldn't handle the densely packed second wave of Dark Elf fighters alone.
After shooting down a majority of the fighters, some Dark Elves finally broke through and entered the interior of the Golden Palace!
But they were greeted by Asgard's forces led by Thor and Loki!
That's right, Odin appointed Loki as Thor's assistant to jointly defend against the Dark Elves' invasion.
One Dark Elf fighter craft could carry a large number of warriors, but after being shot down in the air it was not a threat. However, once they breached the Golden Palace, Thor and the others had to engage in close combat.
"Boom!"
With a single strike from Thor, the raging lightning scorched the Dark Elf in front of him, and then Mjolnir was thrown, knocking an enemy who was about to backstab Loki into the air.

Since Hogun stayed behind in his hometown the "Three Warriors of Asgard" were reduced to Fandral and Volstagg, while Sif was often counted among them. She was not only a brave and skilled female warrior but also had a sharp mind and could hold her own in many situations.
However, in front of Thor, she always unconsciously saw herself as a supporting character. Her feelings for Thor were known by almost everyone in Asgard, except for the fool himself.
But it was difficult for Thor to develop any other feelings for her since they had been bros for over a thousand years. Jane Foster's arrival in Asgard allowed Sif to meet her, too. They had encountered each other on Earth, but they had no connection.
Honestly, Sif was grateful for Jane's help in getting Thor through his trials, but in battle, she was Thor's most reliable comrade. That's why she still didn't understand why she could only be Thor's friend.
"He's fighting the Cursed Warrior!"
Loki snorted. As the second most powerful mage, he had several monitoring points in Asgard, which was quite normal for him.

Thor was well aware of why the Dark Elves attacked Asgard. Odin had informed him that the Aether particles within Jane used to belong to Malekith, the Dark Elf King.
Thor even had a strange thought: When Odin insisted that the Dark Elves had been completely annihilated, he asked Odin, "Are you sure?"
Odin's answer was "Certain."
Although his old man seemed about to slap him hard in the face, this might be an opportunity. Odin and Frigga were unable to extract the Aether particles from Jane, but Malekith definitely could!
If they could capture Malekith alive, they could interrogate him and find a way to save Jane from the constant drain on her life force.
Therefore, Thor couldn't wait for Malekith to appear before him!
Meanwhile, King Odin of Asgard did not join the siege against the Dark Elves. He led the royal guard and directed the evacuation of Asgard's civilians.
