Mikael released his weapon and the Spear disappeared. He was not exhausted at all. For him, it was a casual battle that didn't make him sweat. However, he felt like he ate some shit. His chest was clutching as if he was getting suffocated. He gritted his teeth and blood slowly crept out of his mouth. He was frustrated. He won, but at what cost?
Elizabeth's remains were splattered all around. It was nothing but small bits of flesh and blood. Mikael burned them just to make sure that Elizabeth won't be revived again.
He turned around and found that Miriam was sitting with her shattered limbs. She tried to stand up but it seemed like even standing up would be straining, she didn't have legs in the first place.
Thankfully, Ai Biyu showed up with her bleeding face. Her eyes trembled when she found that Mikael was there, she had mixed emotions. However, she decided to erase it and check Miriam's condition.
She opened a bottle of healing potion and Miriam gobbled it down as she was thirsty. Her injuries started closing and regenerating. Yet she was not relieved at all. She couldn't stare at Mikael, not after what happened to Niña. She bit her lip and swallowed her frustration.
She recalled the reason why she retired, she didn't want to experience losing her loved ones again.
She was tired of it. Yet two of the important people in her life died today. Tears rolled down, she thought she couldn't cry anymore but it seemed like she was wrong.
Ai Biyu and Mikael were quiet. Ai Biyu felt the heavy atmosphere while Mikael was mad. It was obvious no matter how much he tried to hide it.
"Miriam…"
Mikael lowered his knees and looked eye to eye with Miriam. He was devoid of emotions. Miriam almost squealed but she crumpled her fists and stared back at him. She didn't avert her gaze, or else she might lose Mikael too. One wrong move and Mikael would do something horrible, to himself, and the people important to him.
"Miriam, how long have I been gone?"
Mikael felt that he spent almost a year in the Hidden Dungeon.
"… Nine weeks."
"I see."
He closed his eyes. Nine weeks, in retrospect, that was not long. However, he knew that a lot of things might happen within nine weeks.
Mikael spent 447 days in the Dungeon. When he came back, the sky was covered with darkness and Demons were spawning everywhere. It was truly shocking for him.
Mikael learned a lot of things while he was in the Hidden Dungeon. He found that Lilith was living comfortably in the Room 99 and he beat her up till she was traumatized. Then he learned that the Protector(Deity) of the Earth was actually a small chibi girl who had blue and green hair, her name was Earth-cham. On top of that, he found the true purpose of Dungeons and Portals, they are catch basins. So that the Earth won't get filled with monsters. Earth-chan used half of her life span to do everything.
Now, does Mikael care? No, he didn't care much. Especially when the person who he most care about was dead.
"I'm sorry…"
Miriam was sobbing, she couldn't control her tears and her hoarse voice. She was wiping her tears but it kept raining.
"What happened to her? What happened to Niña?"
He didn't have the strength to raise his voice. He was so tired. His shoulders slouched down and his eyes looked down at the ground.
"Niña she…"
While sobbing and hiccuping, Miriam did her best to explain what happened. Ai Biyu was there to help connect the dots, she assisted Miriam through the whole story.
Mikale realized that Ivan Smirnov snitched and became a traitor. Because of him, Demons were appearing all over the world. Then, Lilith's daughter showed up to kill Miriam.
Kyle, Niña, Lee Hal-Sung, and Janna died.
It was hard to believe that these powerful Hunters died against a single woman. Mikael chuckled, he didn't know why he did that.
"... But there is hope."
Miriam announced and both Ai Biyu and Mikael stared at her. The way she said it was filled with confidence. They found that her eyes were burning, Miriam may mourn but she still didn't lose her hope, as if she had a trump card.
"Miria-"
"Mikael, I want you to help me locate her."
"Who?"
Miriam smirked with her swollen face. She tried to be strong.
"You will know once you get there."
Miriam closed her eyes and confirmed that Andromeda was with Titania and Adalyn. She was assisting the Hunters in Cavite by healing them. It was a sight to behold, despite being at disadvantage, no Hunters died. Whenever they received wounds, Andromeda would heal them.
Because of her unlimited mana, or because of her ability to absorb mana through healing, Andromeda didn't have a hard time healing five hundred Hunters. It was a walk in the park for her.
'Now I understand why Kyle helped her.'
Maybe if Andromeda reached at least level 500, her existence could stand equal to the other overlords. Her true power shone, as long as Hunters were around her, they would never die. They were like living zombies.
While Ai Biyu assisted Miriam to stand up, the remaining Elves came up and talked to them.
"Mikael Tibano."
One of the Elves talked to Mikael. He didn't know them but he decided to listen.
"No matter what happens, don't lose hope."
That's what the Elf said.
"I will."
Mikael nodded. He narrowed his eyes and confirmed that Elf was talking to someone, although he didn't know who it was. In the end, he decided to let it go because he had to help Miriam.
"I know that you used a unique Skill to travel here, I want you to take her here. You will realize it once you go to Cavite. She's with Adalyn right now... But first, heal your arm."
Miriam instructed. She found it disturbing that Mikael didn't flinch even if his arm was missing.
"Huh, oh I forgot about that."
Mikael activated his Dragon Slayer and his missing arm regenerated like a tail of a lizard.
"..."
Miriam didn't know what to say.
"Okay, I'll find her."
He assured her. It was practically impossible to travel from England to Spain in just a few minutes. But Mikael was not counted in that equation.
His body transformed into lightning and reached Cavite, Philippines in just a span of five minutes.
