42 Arriving in the capital

In a field about 10 miles from the Capital city of Yathlond a group of soldiers had been waiting for their shift to be done. Over the last few weeks, they had been assigned to come to the same spot and stand guard, switching out with 2 other groups to cover the area 24 hours a day. They had been told to report anything unusual while also detaining any non-elf beings that may cross their path.

So far they had detained a total of 0 people. As a matter of fact, not a single member of any of the guard squads had ever seen any non-elf beings in their entire lives. It was simply something that just didn't happen this deep into the country. It had been nearly 1000 years since any army had invaded and the current state of things had the elves sitting at the top of the power charts.
