1 Max: Chapter 1

A woman lay in a bed partially concealed by a heavy comforter. Her chest was bare, exposed to the room from beneath the blankets; her ample breasts swayed as she moved. Her eyes were covered in dark makeup. Her dark hair was dyed with multiple colors and cut short. Her eyes were closed and her lips parted in an expression of pleasure. Her breath caught as movement from beneath the blanket hinted to the presence of another.

Her lips parted as a moan escaped her. It continued, building in intensity until her climax.

Her muscles convulsed and her eyes opened to reveal a deep brown coloring. Slowly, as her muscles relaxed and she fell silent, movement came once more from beneath the blankets. The form moved up, until at last the one beneath reached the unrestrained air out from beneath the thick cover.

A young man climbed up to lie atop the woman. His dark hair was cut short and stood out in contrast to his fair skin. His eyes were a piercing blue, like pools of ice, chilled from the freezing temperatures of his soul. A desolate air surrounded the man, who appeared too young to have achieved such an aura.

To call him handsome felt wrong to those that had met him. His was a discomforting beauty. It was as if, when he was created, God couldn't decide whether he wanted him to be a man or a woman.

The man supported himself above the woman, meeting her eyes before lowering his head and brushing his lips across her collar bone. He left a trail of light kisses across her neck before stopping at her ear. She welcomed him with a smile and a soft moan, wrapping her arms around him. Slowly, the man shifted beneath the blanket and a louder moan escaped her lips as he pressed into her.

Slow at first, he gently sucked and bit at her neck and ear as he slowly eased her back to the edge he'd already taken her to.

As her body grew more accepting of him and her voice sounded out into the room, asking for more, he increased his ace and the strength of his thrusts. His breathing became ragged and heavy as he grew closer to his own release.

She met hers first, gripping him tightly around his back and neck, as if she wanted to take him into herself fully.

He didn't wait for an invitation to join her as he too found his own climax shortly after.

The two fell into silence; the only sound that of their labored breath. The man lay next to her, staring up at the dirty ceiling above, lost in his own thoughts. She too lay staring up at the ceiling, though hers was an expression of contentedness.

The woman glanced to the man next to her, then sighed and slowly began getting out of the bed. The man's eyes watched her, but he made no move to join her.

As she pulled on her panties, she addressed him in a light hearted manner.

"Full moon's tonight."

His eyes slowly shifted away from her, back to the ceiling, giving no indication that he'd heard her.

"You want me to come pick you up after?" She asked, glancing back at him.

Still, there was no reply.

"If not…then you'll either have to walk back, or take the van and park it somewhere. We can't afford to pay another tow though."

The man stirred, finally. He sat up, running his hand through his hair lazily as he responded. His voice was sharp and cold.

"You can some and pick me up. Usual place and time."

The girl smiled, reveling in the fact that she'd finally gotten him to answer her. She pulled her jeans up, then sat on the bed to do the same for her socks and boots. The man came forward, kissing the back of her shoulder as she tried to finish dressing.

She laughed as his lips tickled her ear again. "You know? I like you this way. You're much more agreeable than you are normally."

"Mmm," was all he said.

He continued to kiss and lick along her neck and shoulder, pushing her bra strap and shirt out of the way.

She closed her eyes and leaned into his touch. Slowly, he pushed her shirt up and began making his way back to that full chest that had been covered.

His progress was interrupted by the sharp ringing of a phone. The woman jumped and the man grunted in discontent.

He pulled away, crossing the bed and reaching for the cell phone on the table next to it.

"Hello?" His already cold voice held just the slightest bit of irritation at being interrupted, causing the woman to feel the need to shiver.

She watched him answer the phone, the straightened her clothes and began pulling on her boots. She waited by the side of the bed, listening to his conversation.

"Uh-huh. Yeah." He paused. "The rate's the same." He fell silent for a while, listening to the other side. "The risk is higher, so the payment will reflect-" He listened as the other on the line interrupted him. "Then call him." He hung up without another word.

He turned back to the woman, disappointment flashed in his eyes at the sight of her fully clothed form.

She crossed her arms over her chest, causing the voluptuous breasts beneath to press together, a feast for his eyes.

"Please tell me you did not just send a potential client to one of your competitors."

The man's eyes drifted to the valley taking shape on her chest, then glanced back up to meet her eyes. Seeing her expression, he sighed. He threw off the blankets and began to gather his own clothes.

"They wanted to pay the base amount with increased risk." He said plainly as he pulled on his jeans.

"What was the job?" She asked.

He fastened his jeans as he frowned down at her. His height had reached just below six foot, but the petite woman made him feel taller.

"A rouge. It doesn't matter." He stopped himself before he could say any more.

She placed her hands on her hips, not wanting to let it go.

He gave a light lipped smile as he looked away, pretending not to notice her change in attitude.

She scoffed. "Alright, well, I guess I'll get the rent this month."

He glanced at her from the corner of his eye as he finished getting dressed.

She seemed to forget about him not wanting to talk with her about it. "I'm hungry, you?" She stepped past him and headed out into the kitchen.

He chuckled at her fast changing mood as he reached for his own worn sneakers without answering.

He dressed and stepped out of the bedroom into the kitchen. It wasn't a large kitchen, only having the bare necessities. The counter space was pathetic and the stove and cook top was smaller than most. Even the refrigerator was small and old, looking to be from the mid nineties at best. But, everything was clean and orderly, just how he liked it. He gathered some water bottles and packed them into a bag. He moved from there to the bathroom, which was across a small living area and grabbed a towel. The washer and dryer were stacked in the bathroom and he grabbed a couple pairs of jeans and spare shirts as well. It was better to have more than necessary than to be left in the wilderness with nothing to wear home.

He walked out of the bathroom to find the woman in the kitchen, heating up something in the microwave. His sense of smell told him it was processed and disgusting. He wrinkled his nose as he came to lean against the sink.

"That's disgusting."

She ignored him and waited patiently for her food to finish heating up.

When the microwave beeped, she pulled a piece of bread wrapped around sauce and pepperoni and cheese out of the sleeve it came with. She turned toward him.

"What time to you want to go?"

He sighed, glancing at the clock over the stove.

"'Bout an hour. I don't want to end up in the same situation as last time."

She nodded and blew on her food before gingerly taking a bite.

He stepped away from the sink and headed to his own bedroom next to the bathroom. She heard him rummaging around for something, then watched as he returned. He was counting cash in his hand as he walked.

He handed it to her.

"Here. Rent."

She slowly accepted the money. "Where…"

He shrugged, but didn't answer. She watched him moving around the kitchen, readying himself something to eat before heading out. She stuffed the bills in her bra then went back to eating.

The two drove in silence out of the city limits. They passed the residential area to finally come to a fenced in land with "No trespassing" signs posted all around.

The man climbed out without a word to the woman in the driver's seat and slid open the sie door to pull his bag from the back. As he turned to walk toward the fence, he heard her call out to him from behind.

"Max!"

He turned to meet her gaze, waiting.

"Stay safe."

He gave a single nod, then continued on his way.
