Chapter 4

Narrator (POV)

The roars of people cheering from the stadium pursued, in the waiting area, contestants from the 6th kodor were all giving out "good lucks" to one another. Mostly to Aladdin, since he was going first.

"Don't lose" said the white headed teen.

"Mn!" Aladdin responded as his confidence continued to grow. After conversing with Sphintus Aladdin turned around only to see Mavis walking towards him; as she walked towards, he noticed that she was walking barefooted. Aladdin wanted to question Mavis about it but was unable to.

"Dood luck on your match, don't disappoint us" Mavis grinned as she shook Aladdin's blue hair. Aladdin couldn't help but giggle.

"You to Mavis"

"Oi Mavis, make sure you win. Unless, of course, you're nervous; I mean I can't blame you since this must be your first time having to duel with someone" Sphintus snickered. Mavis can only laugh, "Sorry to burst your bubble but, this is not my first time having to duel with someone. But one thing's for sure, I am quite nervous since I know nothing about this person's ability" Mavis replied then looked away.

Mavis (POV)

The battle between Aladdin and Titus ended with a draw, though I could say that their battle was rather very intense and quite entertaining. However, it appears that Titus already saw Aladdin's crystal, which may be a problem in future... My thoughts wandered around not knowing that my match is about to start. That is until, thankfully, someone pulled me away from my thoughts,

"Hey Mavis, I don't what are you thinking that would make you pace out but your match is about to start"

"Ah right, thank you for that" I said whilst walking towards the fighting ground with a smile plastered on my face. "This should be interesting, what better way to understand more of this world than having to duel with someone who's ability I know nothing off", I thought as I faced my opponent that was a couple of meters away from me.

"Since this may or may not be your first match, I would like to be a gentleman and make you take the first move" he said arrogantly while crossing both his arms to his chest. I couldn't help but feel irritated, which made a vain pop up in my forehead, I tried to smile it off while clenching my teeth to make ensure I don't start ranting at this man.

"That's quite nice of you, but I would prefer if you take the first move; since you yourself claim to be a gentleman." I replied, still clenching my teeth.

"Well if you insist.. Asfal Rih!!", the dust around the stadium gathered making a smokescreen, I couldn't help but smile thinking it was a good move to start a match. I began to be warry about my surroundings, but it was not that easy considering that making a sudden move would resolve in me having sand in my eyes. Meaning I'm at the disadvantage, with the match just starting.

I then felt a sudden change of the movement of the sand, which was flying around the air, on my right. I quickly turned and there I saw Jason sprint towards me whilst shooting countless of fireballs at me. "HarlHarl Rasas!", Jason exclaimed.

"Too bad that won't stop me" I said silently in my head. I started to dodge the fireballs that are being shot towards me, it continued until a giant one came in my direction. I knew I couldn't dodge this one so I summoned my staff and held it out. "Shallal Baraq!", a giant dragon made out of water then appeared, it dashed towards the giant fireball with great speed. I moved back to evade the impact of the two attacks. The collision between the two attacks made a huge impact thus, creating a lot of damage on our surroundings. Thankfully, the battleground was surrounded with a magical barrier.

I felt a couple of water droplets connect with some parts of my skin, as steam filled the entire stadium.

Narrator (POV)

Steam filled the Stadium, all the observants or rather watchers were astonished at the attack that just happened. The spell Mavis used was not commonly used by other magicians, excluding the blue magicians. Even the headmaster of Magnostadt was rather shock at the scenery that just happened. When the steam started to disappear, Mavis already changed in offense and started to elevate herself, whilst bringing up her golden staff. "Mawja!" she exclaimed. A 20ft wave then charged towards Jason, who evaded it with ease; however, the ground was all soaked and wet.

"And here I thought you'll be a worthy opponent after that last counter attack--" Jason was unable to finish his statement when Mavis, yet again, raised her staff and clamored "Ramz Dengki!"

A flash of lightning appeared; it dashed towards Jason, ready to electrify him. Jason may be arrogant but he was very quick-witted as well. "Harl Harl, Ramz, Mawja" he said, creating a composite type of magic. He released his spell, which then countered the lightning that was vigorously dashing towards him. Howbeit, since the attack that Jason released was far too strong than Mavis's lightning, it eradicated the lightning and had made contact with the wall.

"That spell he used.." Mavis thought as she began to be worried about her state; the fight continued, both of them sending powerful attacks at each other. It continued for a while, but as time pass by, Mavis's magoi began to drain. She was still not used to the power source of this world so she already expected this to happen.

"Harl Harl" Jason yelled out, a fireball appeared and went towards the direction of Mavis with great speed. Mavis was surprised at the sudden attack and barely dodged it, which resulted in her coat burning. As her burned coat fell to the ground her arms were now exposed thus, her bandage that covered her tattoo was now visible to everyone.

"This match was rather fun, too bad it's going to end soon. Thalg Al-Salos!" shards of ice appeared and immediately shot towards Mavis. It came from all direction meaning there was no escape.

The headmaster wanted to stop the match but was still intrigued on what kind of outcome this match will produce.

Mavis ripped off her the white strap that covered her tattoo, this made everyone's attention go to her as they were very confused. The shards of ice were now closing in on her; she held out her right arm and started to chant.

'Gather, River of light that Guides Fairies"

"Shine! To destroy the Fangs of Evil!"

"Fairy Glitter!!"

A beam of golden light appeared from Mavis and shot towards Jason and the shards of ice, destroying everything in its path. The shards of ice were eradicated and Jason was abruptly pushed back towards the wall with a large boom.

The whole stadium was quiet. No one, not even the headmaster, could comprehend on what happened. But one thing's for sure, what Mavis did was extraordinary that no one could not and perhaps will never be able to understand.

Mavis, on the other hand, was panting vigorously. It has been a long time since she felt this kind of sensation but she manages to walk out of the stadium, knowing that she had already won. She then saw Sphintus run up to her. He asked her if she was ok since she looked very -tired looking-. Mavis nodded and proceeded to go to her dorm but was stopped because of the question that Sphintus had asked her.

"Mavis, what was that last attack?"
